Hey guys, DarkspiderDavid here! Dark for Batman, Spider for Spider-Man and David for everything in between. Everyone generally loves Batman or Spider-Man, and this channel is dedicated to them.
Here you'll find movie, game and action figure reviews, opinions pieces, let's plays and rants on all things Spider-Man and Batman, with a couple of one-offs here and there.
The thing is hasbro does their research while tod mcfarlane just picks batman just because it looks cool and yes they do make alot of spider man but they are of suits we mostly want not just a random batman that most people don't know
This is good, really if this was 1:12 scale I'd collect it. I'd still be fine with SHF as its good in 1:12 scale. I hate how the cape is done but that's ok
Looking at the movie design, and now that mezco is out, these both missed the yellow/orange line on the shin. Also both suit color are not correct, Mafex may be closer to actual, mezco got it correct.
Hi! was wondering how is your Miles Morales (1st suit) figure doing, any colours from the red hue peeled off?. I bought 1 last week and did a arm folding pose. When i revert it back, the part near the armpit (red hue) wrinkles and color peeled off a little 😢. Love your video anyway!
i mean the stuff that spider criminal said was kind of true but how he used to run his company was kind of shameful I'm talking about Todd McFarlane btw
24:14 Hey, the waiting comes from overpaying from US places like Big Bad. I started pre-ordering from AmiAmi about five years ago and never looked back. Pay under a hundred shipped, packed well in very sturdy boxes; and once shipped, it just takes two days to arrive at your door from Japan. *As long as you pick DHL, you'll be getting that item _waaaaay_ sooner than your standard company.
I actually really liked Simon as a villain, mainly because i have a soft spot for generic "im evil and an asshole and i love money" type villains. i find it more unique ironically then trying to make a villain who has actual (sometimes sympathetic) motivations. Simon is a very easily hateable villain, and i really like that and want to see it more. i DO however wish that the underground stuff was a little more fleshed out, like maybe the infiltration stuff took a little longer or something rather than ending the same mission it began.
If you can’t afford Mafex don’t buy it get Mcfarlane it’s still really good I have both and using Mafex is a much better experience when trying new poses . Mcfarlane is the base when it comes to well priced decent figures .
Bright is actually really good, the only real thing I don’t like is barely any head articulation (I understand why) and next to nothing in the torso articulation
I have no idea how I’ve never come across your channel before. My favorite heroes are Spidey and Batman too, so it’s cool to see a channel dedicated to them. Love your logo too, very creative. Anyways subscribed and look forward to more content. 👍🏻
While mcfarlane didn’t do it to the tee in terms of the knight fall design it easily outclasses the mafex batman in terms of build, colors, face sculpt and PRICE. The mcfarlane figure I HAVE has a smooth and detailed face sculpt as well as a magnificent paintjob for the bat emblem. The mafex has some pros like the shoulder cape spikes, the longer bat ears, and the wired cape along with its perfectly spiked batcape ends. However i customized my mcfarlane figure by buying a wired cape and it made the figure pop out so much more, i constantly look at it on my comic shelf and pose it all the time and to me is just the definitive look for batman. $60+ for a few cool details while lacking in major areas and details is just not worth it to me and you just cant beat that $20 price.
the Mcfarlane is fine if you just want your figures standing there. Mafex is great if you want to have your figure in dynamic poses or do figure photography. Most collectors don't get into posing like that so I understand why more people would prefer the $20 figure over the $65 one. But if you are one of those people who enjoy figure photography then this Mafex is an incredibly fun figure with tons of pose potential.
@@zeroyagami7753 that guy is another one who bases his opinions on youtube videos and very likely has never held a Mafex, or likely, any other brand other than McF/ML. No sane person would ever put the McF figure over Mafex in anything. Anyone who actually has in hand figures from both companies knows how things actually are. The guy is trying to convince himself that Mafex is not worth it for a "few details" and "lacking" in "major" areas.
In my opinion, Mafex is really lazy with their design, they're clearly reusing body molds and it doesn't work with this particular Batman. Knightfall Batman was clearly slimmer, not skinny, but not your usual buffed out superhero. Everything with the Mafex Batman is too proportional, bulky, and stocky for what Knightfall Batman is supposed to look like. McFarlane Batman clearly proportioned their Knightfall Batman much better, slim torso, long legs, long arms, and broad shoulders, but of course there are some flaws. More defined muscles, longer cape, and longer ears is all that the McFarlane Batman is missing. And not to mention the price cannot be beaten, spending $60-$120, depending on where you're buying a Mafex figure from, is just downright outrageous, especially considering the fact that almost every toy they make has parts reused of some kind. Overall, for what I am getting I'm choosing McFarlane all day. Edit: Just to be clear I am not a Mafex hater, I own most of their Spider-Man figures, which I think their best work! 😊
BRO YOU JUST EXPRESSED MY PROBLEM macfarlane figures NEVER represent the actual comic they take it from they look like someone put a nightfall skin on a random dude
it definitely was for a while but even then it's just an 8/10 at best. right now I'd say the Detective Comics 27 (aka First Appearance) Batman is their best Batman figure right now. The wired cape takes it over the top
Saw someone comment something similar on another video; I LOVE your content, it's super fun to watch and also super in depth when you are comparing figs or just reviewing them, basically one of my fav AF channels out there, but I think your videos would GREATLY benefit from being a bit shorter, maybe 15-20 mins at longest! Don't get me wrong I love these 40 min long videos and I'm p sure others do too but maybe it''s a bit too much, at least for every video That said, a Sentinel Miles with the soft goods (and wires) would be perfect 😭
A claim such as this can only come from someone who only buys McF. There is not a single aspect that is comparable between Mafex and McF. The gulf in quality regarding everything is just too vast. Looking at pictures or videos doesn't really show the small details that you will see when having it in hand. The feel of the plastic. The engineering. The way every joint moves. With McF you move the joints as if you're breaking wood. With Mafex its like skates gliding on ice. Its the smoothest feeling joint. The articulation. The silhouette of the figure. McF has the ugliest cuts of every manufacturer. The knees, elbows, legs are very unrefined. The sculpt of the Mafex is beaitiful and the outline it strikes while posed is top of the lines. How every line and joint flows. AmiAmi has this for just 55 euros plus another 13 or so for cheap shipping, if people are interested.
@@sirmustardofhousemayonnais9907 no, literally 55 euros, like i said. About 2 McF figures. Surely we're not gonna add shipping from Japan and call it a $100 figure. The logistics of importing a product from another country does not factor into the retail price and manufacturing of said product
Tell me how? Just give me at least one dang reason bud? Mcf is the worst of all for any DC collectors, I own more mcf figures than mafex...but based on my experience Mafex is superior in every single points, especially the quality you get when you pay for it, but for mcf...is just a pile of rubbish you gonna get.
The Mafex figure looks like a microman figure with all the weird cuts of the shoulders and the torso. McFarlane's sculpt is brand new and they made a dedicated sculpt that represents Batman from the Bronze age through to Knightfall, striking a pretty good balance of that look. Whilst Mafexs is a rehashed reuse of their Hush figure for the most part, looking more like Knightfall Batman if drawn by Jim Lee which just isn't accurate at all, so you get this odd looking hodgepodge. The cut of the joints and the sculpt just looks better on McFarlane. The joints themselves move really nicely, I have no issues with them and are pretty much on par with Mafex for the most part, even beating them in some areas, sans the torso crunch going forward, though it's good on the McFarlane Knightfall Batman.
I saw other reviewers actually say his likeness is too cartoony. Which I disagree with. Hopefully the company goes back and retools their previous figures now that they have the DC license. I would definitely buy more of their figures. Great review.
