this would actually be so cool, either an elder pack or a pack for death! like a cemetery lot, funeral and them being customizable like weddings, new deaths, maybe even some spiritual stuff? like expand on ghosts, maybe even cults, etc. explains those things or things that COULD be involved with the afterlife!

A lot of simmers have been wanting a way to have funerals, especially for storytellers who play with generations. I just hope that they are functional because weddings are still very bugged and difficult to manage. I loved the Sims 3 world Midnight Hollow. It was dark, moody, and very goth. I'm goth so I was disappointed by the goth kit. The clothing was more for clubbing, with no way to dress Edgar Alan Poe or a 1980s goth that looks more like Tim Burton. In fact. Midnight Hollow was very much like a Tim Burton world. I put the Addams family in that world and they fit right in. I also agree with you that a bucket list for the elderly or a new trait for the elderly, where they can try to do the things they want to accomplish before they die would be interesting. It would definitely add more gameplay to the older generation. I wish they could bring back canes or walking sticks for the elderly, or give us an actual funeral home to build. A pack around death and a dead aesthetic isn't just about sorrow. Goths are very creative people and it's moody style and the way we decorate the world around us can be fun, spooky, but it's always a part of being creative. So hopefully they give us a pack about death that we can be creative with.

I love playing with long legacies. I started out with a single, had no intention of playing for this long. He got married, got pregnant (yup), and had about 6 kids. I kinda just pick a kid and go over from there, for me what I do is I give my sims a personality. They follow the linear path of having children but at the end of the day they maybe aren’t very family oriented. Not saying they hate their kids but their whole life doesn’t revolve around kids, it’s just a part of it. They have hobbies, careers, and still care about their relationships.

Great analysis! Not only EA, not even only in the gaming industry; there seems to be a conservative approach when it comes to innovation. The fourth installment of The Sims franchise got me hooked when the made the Spa Day refresh. That could be the case to revive a somewhat good framework - yeah, I see TS4 potential, and I consider its contents in a more or less finished state (polished is a whole other story).

I'm 50 years old and I have been playing the Sims since my late thirties because that's when I became disabled. I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands and days when I couldn't leave the bed. So, my son brought me his old computer and turned on the Sims so I could spend hours decorating a house. I spent a year decorating and learning how to build a house before I made a family and tried playing with characters. I was absolutely hooked! There were so many things I couldn't do in real life, but in the Sims I could. I notice die hard Simmers are often creative and into decorating or building, or storytellers that enjoy gameplay. Aside from the Sims I really enjoy cozy farming simulation games where you have to balance a lot of tasks or quests while maintaining a working farm. I've never been outdoorsy but in a game (even the Sims) I tend do nothing but farming because I enjoy seeing the crops growing and I don't have to deal with real bugs or extreme weather. Video games are a good way to escape real life for a while and immerse yourself in a different world from your own, or as a character so different from yourself.

Sims four content when it comes to packs is just underwhelming in my opinion

Since you've asked, my tips to avoid getting bored in The Sims 4 I'd suggest to avoid cheats, allow Sims to have negative traits, avoid getting rich quick and easy, store money in a family vault which will only add to the bills, and/or do invest in restaurants, café's, vet cliniques, stores, and real estate that you can rent out over time and over multiple generations to build our own empire.

I think that making online games makes shareholders and investors who know nothing about the fanbase happy, which is why EA will never let go of it

I don't find Project Rene to be promising or fun. It doesn't sound fun. I have a family member that has been playing the sims since the beginning, but I started during Sims 2. I did more gameplay in Sims 3, but was already noticing how broken the packs were and nothing was being done to fix them. Sims 4 had better CAS, but I spend less time in gameplay and just build or make sims when I feel inspired. Still the packs are getting worse and worse and more broken than ever. In the past year I have started looking for other games that can give me what I use to love about the Sims and I have barely touched the Sims game or even missed it. I don't think the Sims will die off right away, but it has been slowly dying over time. Holding out hope is what the Sims Community does well, but I'm getting really exhausted at the disappointment I feel when a pack does not live up to it's price tag, or is put out broken (and never fixed). I am putting my money to other games that won't flood me with a rollercoaster of emotions.

I think Project Rene is just a mobile 'cash cow' game; stretched across the game platforms. PlayStation has standards that must be met before they allow a game on their system. I think the Sims 5 game hasn't been announced yet.

After games like inzoi and paralives being announced I think EA really started to think where they went wrong. And in my opinion it's really strange that the first sims game launched in 2000, second one is launched in 2004 and the third one launched in 2009, The Sims 4 has been released 10 YEARS AGO and it still wouldn't be anything without all the modders. I thought Project Renee was going to be something like The Sims 5, but now that I watched your video I realized that it's nothing like that. Even though they are trying so hard to save The Sims 4, I think they should invest in a new game bcs it's literally bullshit now. They made 82 packs and stuffs and kits and in my country they are super expensive. Even if you live in the US you have to pay 520 dollars only for the packs? That's nonsense. These are my opinions, I think they should make a new game from scratch and not some online mobile game which simmers do not even wanted in the first place.

Project Rene is so strange to me. It sure sounds like we are just getting another Sims Online and I don't think that did very well. Hears to hoping for a better and actual Sims game!!

I used cheats to help come up with fun storylines. I created a blue suburban home years ago, and I decided to renovate it. My design choices were outdated and just plain ugly, but I still loved the exterior of the home. I thought it would be fun to incorporate that into my sims storylines. One of my sims is a heiress. She inherited the home from her grandfather and decided to renovate the inside to look super modern. I gave her roommates who she met in college. Even though they all benefit from the inheritance (the cheats), I gave them aspirations, like becoming celebrities and influencers. So I ended up making a content house. They'll never run out of fun things to do. :D

I use cheats to set my game up. I do not get bored if I set up a storyline for my well to do families. And this is not just a Sims 4 thing, it was true for me in Sims 2 as well (I didn't play much Sims 3 tbh). Like I might make a rich family that hates the poor family(s) down the road BUT the kids are like best friends. And I set all that up before I really "play" (with relationship and money cheats to do the set up). Or I'll have a rich family that has the butler end up doing most of the baby care and parenting, I like seeing how family dynamics are affected by such a situation especially if I play the parents obsessed with work til the child is a teen. Not because they need money, but because they are perfectionist that like the high of promotions. I think you can set goals like "better family relationships" that aren't "bigger house...more money...more stuff" and those can be just as fun to play towards but the game doesn't natively allow you to set up said situation out of CAS, its always the same base money - starter house limitation which is honestly fine for learning the game. But I am beyond that. I also play rotationally, so I am never just zoned in on one family and their progress, I play a neighborhood of intersecting stories always. One family all the time would bore me. Each play session I visit someone new and catching up on their life is always exciting. And since I am progressing in the same save with families who know each other its fun to run into my other families naturally in game and have a bit of no control I have to deal with when I get back to them. Cheats are how I get the world set to the state I want it and then I mostly avoid them in gameplay from there. But they are also handy sometimes when the game is being weird. Like I send a sim out to the club one night and then come home to every sim out of bed and the infant on the floor because the lot reset during the loading screen. I use cheats to cheat their needs down and send them all to bed til a reasonable hour. Or, quite frankly, I want a nice family dinner so I cheat everyone to hungry to have that moment, lol. I think there's a way to use cheats to help your gameplay as opposed to elimination of the need to play (giving yourself a dreamhouse with infinite money gives you nowhere to go, I agree). I am not really a rags to riches player anyway, the majority of my Sims are firmly middle class and never go any higher. And that does not bother me.

I get bored mostly because the game is too easy and there is no need to cater for the needs, the moodlets aren’t impacting. I also get bored because the world is not open and there’s not much to do in my own lot, it all feels very limited. Also, sims have no personality like in sims 4. Animations are all very limited… there’s so many reasons!

sims is expensive trust me way less fun to but for dreamlight valley i play it for like two weeks to complete everything star path new characters and grind all the things i spent on the restaurant then take a break until the new content come i always stop playing but i always come back and the expansion pack with time bending made this game so easy never have to farm again or forage or cook those machines do it for me also i don't care the game needs to make its money somehow considering how dream snaps work with so much moonstones
