Great video Brian and some beautiful fish staring in it. Are you chumming with your bait in a small cloth/ web basket tied to the boat or just heaving the chum overboard?
I adopted that technique when you first posted it a while back. Feels good sending them back over the rail healthy with no jewelry stuck in the throat, thanks again for the tip!
Id like to see a pod of bigger fish roll in, we fish casco bay and have been doing good, lots of 28-35s but still looking for that 40 out there, caught a couple over 40 in may but seems to have slowed right down
Awesome! Schoolies or not, can't beat the chase of stripers. The old man and I used to go striper fishing all the time in the Harpswell area, but being 50 miles inland, it is far and few between now, especially with him getting older. Love your videos Capt., keep up the great work!
Great video!! Way to stick it out and keep trying. Thank you to giving props to us surfcasters, we are definitely a different breed. It takes years of reading wind, tides, water temperature, plug techniques, etc to hone in our skills. All that said, even we surfcasters are left scratching our heads sometimes. If you put me on a boat I am a fish out of water.....hahahah. Keep pluggin' and tight lines!!
Love the videos. Whats the ideal tide for these and how do you pick your spots? I’ve been getting all kinds of mackerels but can’t seem to land a damn stripper.
Low consolidateds them at the mouths of rivers or on the beach. I prefer incoming but it depends on the spot. For rocky areas look for good white water from waves crashing. Deep water near the spot is good too
