I Broke one of my rules and the ice fishing gods made me pay for it. If I have the time I don't leave early, whenever I do the people who keep fishing wind up catching great fish. it has happened over half a dozen times.
With all the warm weather ice fishing has been rough this year, so we decided to start pike fishing early and with the rain and temps in the 50s this coming it was a good idea. With pike fishing it is usually lot of waiting for a few bites a day and though we had a lot of flags most of the fish would not commit dropping the bait after only a few feet. But both Cory and Steve managed to connect with some decent male pike mid-day. I left around 3 to drive home and no more than 10 min after i left Chris caught a massive large mouth and then Corry tied into this 38-inch female pike.
