Club is nicely on plane. She keeps the club to the outside of her hands during the take away this helps keep the club from getting inside the plane going to the top. With her smooth tempo not much can go wrong. Great swing 👏
some parts of his swing break all the "rules but he makes it work. super strong left wrist, he can see every knuckle but still has a cupped wrist at the top. flying elbow , bent lead arm. amazing how he makes it work so well.
Huh, a bent left wrist at impact. That is unique. The right wrist is perfect. The left wrist position is the same at address, pretty much, as impact. She must have crazy hand awareness. Her miss must be left with this grip. Not a lot of room for error. Awesome player. Love her swing not to mention, she's a pretty awesome person as well.
Grip a club and hold it directly in front of you. As you stand, lift the club straight up and put it on your right shoulder. There's only one way to do this -- with both hands equally. Remember this sensation. Watch Fred Couples. Pay attention. Next, let's make a special golf swing -- not the final version and perhaps not like any you have performed before. The centre of your swing is in between your shoulders. Place the club in the centre of your stance. Take a golf posture and do the same thing again, except turn your shoulders and place the club directly on your shoulder using *both hands equally (*critical). Be sure that your body responds naturally with a feeling of free motion. Take a look in the mirror. The speed of your backswing should be about the same as when you first lifted the club up on your shoulder at the beginning. Let your body respond to the swinging action while staying nice and balanced--don't concern yourself with shifting any weight; instead, be responsive to the motion of the club while staying in balance. Next, swing the whole club using your upper arms **in the direction of the target and place it on the left shoulder, brushing the grass, and all your weight will end up on the left foot and the right heel will come up. Let the club swing as it may, as it is designed and in a circular manner, and let your body respond. Practice this until you can hit ten straight shots in a row towards your target. Again, the club goes ON your shoulder on the backswing, and then ON your shoulder on the forward swing. This isn't the final version, but master this first. (**I've heard Fred call this "down the line"--the point is that you're not swinging at a golf ball; you're swinging the club down the fairway as if there were no ball present.) Once you have that, do the same thing but instead of putting the club directly on the shoulder, swing both hands above the shoulder, like in a golf swing. This is the action of Fred Couple's swing and, actually, any true swinging motion of the club, in which every part of the club moves in the same direction at the same time, to and fro. Be cool and look smooth. When you crush a drive, act like it's no big deal. Consider what happens if your left hand were to dominate over the right. The physical appearance of the swing would resemble as if you had swung the club only with the left hand, wrapping around your body, laid off and club face pointing skyward at the horizontal position back. Next, consider what would happen if the right dominated over the left. Again, problematic. Instead, both hands swing the club equally, an important sensation to understand. Don't go down the rabbit hole of studying positions. Feel this, don't analyze it. Pay attention to Fred's action on the backswing -- he uses both hands equally without one dominating over the other. Fred's swing is unique in appearance because of compensatory movements related to: (1) his strong grip; (2) the swing plane and subsequent rerouting of the club; (3) he's Fred Couples and you're not. However, unlike Fred, you could instead have a neutral grip and swing on plane without rerouting the club. Don't forget to work on your putting. (All credit to golf legends Ernest Jones and Manuel de la Torre, who improved upon Jones' concept). Enjoy!
I kinda get why she retired seeing this swing here. Looks like she made a lot of unnecessary changes. Hopefully she can get to work a little bit with a better coach in whatever free time away from the family she has these days. Too talented to stay away from competitive golf forever IMO. Hopefully she is healthy now as well.
important to mention is that this swing works for HIM. And basically no one else. He is really flat and basically needs to steepen his swing plane in order to get to impact. Similar to fitzpatrick, fowler. His hands are lower at impact then address. That's something almost no one has.
When I freeze frame Fred's club position when his hands are at parallel and compare it to mine there is a near 3 foot height difference, no wonder I play so bad. What a swing he has.
Lexi would be more consistent if she would stop swinging out of her shoes. She gains very little with that extra effort. The best Asian players swings looks effortless, they don't rise up out of their shoes. They let their clubs do the work and get in less trouble. I love Lexi, I root for her. I just wish she would calm her swing. It would give her a few more years and I'm sure get her better results.
