Hoka has influenced most of the other brands in their copying the Hoka design. I don't like them or the clones. The heel is too squishy for just standing around and not enough lateral stability for running. I haven't tried On Cloud. My wife lives in Hoka Bondi but works out in Brooks Launch. I'm still searching. for a replacement for Brooks Ghost.
@fitnessnbeer9835
@fitnessnbeer9835 2 дня назад
The Brooks Ghost are a good option especially if you don’t like squishy. But I also like the Hoka Bondi and they’re some of my favorites for runnings. I think the ON Cloud Swift or Cloud X3 would be good options from ON to try based on your comment. I think you maybe find many of the other ON models too soft. If you can remember, let me know what you find? Huge thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience!

@@fitnessnbeer9835 I recently tried the Brooks Ghost 16. I added my usual Powerstep Pinnacle insoles. I did a little treadmill jogging and noticed a bit of peroneal breavus tendonitis on both feet. I'll give it a few days and try with the stock insoles. Less cushion.

Was in Tokyo for a week during the tail end of their summer (September) and the constant walking, standing in trains, and the humid heat really beat me up. Dropped by the On official store in Harajuku in the final days of the trip, and wanting to see what the hype was about, I bought the On Cloudflow 4 without knowing anything beforehand. This is actually one of their running shoes, with ground feel that reminded me of my old low-stack Mizuno Wave Musha 2s, but they pull off the trick of being well-cushioned too. I joked about On being "dad shoes" for folks who don't want to look like they have dad shoes, but so far the hype does seem substantiated.

It looks like a beautiful rental! I can understand what you mean by adding up all the little extra fees. We did a huge rental in Orlando in 2019 for our family trip to WDW. It did turn out to be a lot more cost effective for us with 16 people staying in a huge house to accommodate all of us. However, as I am planning our family Dollywood trip, I have to say it is becoming challenging to find a home big enough that doesn't cost an arm and a leg lol. Looking forward to watching part 2. My family lives in Florida and we visit for two weeks every year in August. We are always looking for different places to visit. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm putting together a family group vacation to Dollywood. We have a 1 1/2 year old and a 2 1/2 year old and we weren't sure if this would be a good choice for them. I'm guessing they need to be a little older and at least 36" tall to ride. This was so much fun to watch!
@fitnessnbeer9835
@fitnessnbeer9835 11 дней назад
@@joannsalas I think you could still enjoy the park because there’s shows, activities, and atmosphere. But yes I think the 1 1/2 year old would be limited. In about 1 year Dollywood will be a great option. The Dollywood website could also be helpful because they list all of the attractions and you could see how many work for your family in advance. Also take a look at the Island in Pigeon Forge. The Margaritaville Island hotel is right in the middle of an attractions center. In some way I think that area would work out better for young kids. There you could walk over to the attractions, and it’s just easy and more accessible. It’s still close to Dollywood and you can take advantage of the Island too. Huge thanks for your comment and have an awesome trip!

I have the IR3 (in this exact colourway too!) as much as a i love the look of them, I cannot figure them out. I put over 500km into the IR2 in the first half of the year and they felt like they lost their pop. I’ve had the IR3 for 2 months and they just don’t agree with my feet which is so weird vs the IR2. I want to LOVE them but the instability, the harsh lockdown due to plastic feeling upper and surprising leg fatigue even on easy runs of 6:20-6:45 km/h pace I think I just have to let them go 😢

@fitnessnbeer9835 11 дней назад
Huge thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience! I get it, all of my shoe soles start to feel kinda flat after a while. Sometimes I wonder if lots of cushioning contributes to leg fatigue because the foot tenses?🤷🏾‍♂️. I actually like running(I’m running much slower) in the Invincible 3 but I totally understand what you mean by “harsh lockdown” and I can see how that may not work for some. We have very similar takes on the shoe.

Hey , i just wanna start by saying i enjoy all your content. I did want to make a suggestion to do a durability torture test. For walking , running 10+ hours comparison video between ON, ultra boost , hoka shoes. And shoe before and after if possible. I’m so torn between all your info since i do have a Disney trip in a few weeks to see what shoes can really hold up for a 35 year old man such as myself. lol All the shoes you tend to really enjoy all brands. But what is truly your best pair of shoes if you could only walk, run. Wear everyday for the rest i of your life. Thank you. Once again i really enjoy your honestly and authenticity.
@fitnessnbeer9835
@fitnessnbeer9835 13 дней назад
Huge thanks for your comment and for checking out the videos! Great suggestion, I think I’d need 3 brand new pair of shoes to execute it properly 🤔. But I would love to see that result. That’s a super tough question. As I continue to review and accumulate shoes I can really appreciate their differences and recognize there are so many way for something to be comfortable. As a result my favorite for walking isn’t the same as my favorite for casual use etc…. For a 12 hour day in the Magic Kingdom the Invincible Run 3 would be my first choice. And if I were going to Disney right now I would bring 2 pair the Nike Invincible 3(heavy days) and the Adidas Ultra Boost (light days). But if I were only bringing one pair, I think it would be the ON Cloud Surfers or ON Cloud Runners for me. I would choose a pair more in the middle. Hope this answer is helpful!

In the video I feature the Arahi but they’re more for stability and not the best option for cushion. I also have a pair of Bondi 8 that are my favorite Hokas but also the funniest looking (I talk about this in a follow up video)😂. I also like the Cliftons which are another popular model.
@johnny110291
@johnny110291 14 дней назад
I’ve never had either brand. I love how ON looks. I kinda hate how Hokas look. However, he’s right, we are at a point in life where comfort is more important than aesthetics . So I’m prob gonna go for the hokas
@fitnessnbeer9835
@fitnessnbeer9835 14 дней назад
Huge thanks for checking out the video and commenting ! I hear ya on the way Hokas look. I think the comfort is comparable but different. So I think it’s likely you can find a model of ON that will serve you as well as the Hokas. Especially models with a thicker shoe sole like the Cloud Surfer, Cloud Eclipse, and Cloudmonster. But truly I think both brands offer uniquely comfortable options.
