I wanted to sincerely say thank you! I was assigned a number of poe's readings and was looking for an audio version to help me focus a bit better. I see you have the other stories I've been assigned recorded as well and I'm so excited to listen to them too! Your reading is so wonderful and faithful to the text so I could read along with you! Im very thankful to have found your page and im excited to explore what else you have recorded beyond my assigned readings!
What a lovely comment for me to wake up to this morning, thank you! If there are any other texts that you'd find it useful to have in the same manner then do let me know 👍
Look The Irish people had as much injustice imposed on them including Famine, slavery, bigotry, laughed at. Do you hear us.Always going on about the black injustice s. I think the Irish have suffered more than ant other nation or culture. And we are Still getting it today .
9:37 Thanks for this. I've read only 8 of Poe’s stories but this one really had me re-reading sentences many times to understand. Following an audio makes it easier. :)
Oh you mean free speech first of all its not rear more than 125 countries have democracy which gives them free speech as well such as England, France, Spain, Canada, Sweden, Germany..etc
Here to revist Po after watching the Netflix series Fall of the House of Usher. Haven't read Po in ages really glad that Mike Flanagan paid homage to Po's work. I had forgotten just how terrifying Po's stories are.
What a stupid thing to say, read everything and make up your own mind as to the truth of what you read, if Jefferson really believed what he was saying then there would be no use in educating anybody.
Congratulations on this beautiful reading of the poem! I am actually writing a short review on this poem, and I would like to indicate some other sources to go further. Would you allow me to refer to your reading of the poem, and to put a link to your video? Once again, well done ! :)
@@ramblingidiomsThank you so much for your reply ! In the end I did not publish the review so I wasn't able to quote your reading, but I will gladly follow your readings and work anyway ! Once again, many many thanks and keep up with the readings ! ;)
Great video, do you have any recommendations for getting into poetry? It's always been something I've wanted to learn more about but didn't really know how to go about it.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :) Personally, I think you can do a lot worse than starting with Shakespeare's sonnets, then branching outwards from there. You'll find poems by Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Frost, Tennyson and others on my channel too, if you haven't already listened to them, as well as some of my own. You might want to take a look at the poetryfoundation.org website as well, which is a really great resource to sample lots of different writers. Have fun!
I heard a version that goes: "I must study War and Politics, so that my sons can study Diplomacy and philosophy, so that their sons can study mathematics and art"
It's fun trying to trace quotes back to their source, as they're often subtly different - I believe that the full quote references poetry and painting as well. The gist of the point is not lost, whatever the flavour :)
