Something way, way, waaaaaaay out of left-field, just for a change. A monologue style poem about lost opportunities, wasted time, misguided goals and regret. I wrote this a few years ago, and haven't done anything remotely like it since; I don't usually write 'in character', so this is a fun little anomaly.
And yes, the idea for this came to me when I saw some sweet wrappers blowing around on the street. My brain works in puns first and foremost, before regular meanings, so it got me to wondering what happened to all of the rap artists who didn't make it / were cast aside, despite early promise.
