My name is Joe. I make automotive-focused videos to put on youtube. My main passion is diesel trucks, which is why I drive a 2000 F250 Powerstroke, but I enjoy almost all things automotive from older classics to modern supercars. I may also use this channel to show other parts of my life and different activities that am a part of.
My 2007 that I’ve had for 14 years started not blowing much air. I changed out the resistor part-that didn’t work. I came across your video and resolved my issue! Thanks!
I recently got a 2002 E450 and have learned a lot from your videos ! Was wondering if there is a fuel treatment for cleaning and lubricating the injectors, feeling the additives have been neglected in the past.
For heavy treatment I like Archoil for fuel and oil. For regular fuel treatment I run OptiLube in every tank. The optilube seems to about pay for itself with a small bump in mpg. Archoil Fuel: amzn.to/3LA2EtK Archoil oil: amzn.to/3zOVbV1 Optilube: amzn.to/3y7XtxS
@@LivingOnWheels I’m repairing my 7.3 I want a dodge but don’t like that auto trash that’s on there. And owners want $15 k extra for a manual! My 7.3 is a manual and it pulled very hard. With your vids I should be able to fix it back better then before thanks for your help
I got a 99 7.3L with 163k miles and I get the same amount of white smoke coming out the tube but the cap doesn’t budge at all. It freaked me out when I saw the smoke but it seems like your trucks running fine and does it too so I’m less worried now
OMG 3 Screws were stopping my 06 from blowing this whole time. Just removed the air blocking door flap from above the blower…DUDE YOU SAVED MY SUMMER!!!!! Literally took me 5 minutes to have air freely flowing… got the truck in 2015 and dreading summers and winters due to lack of forced air. Not any more
I know I am 4 years behind, But I would love to see this test on a 100 degree day. I currently run the 6637 filter here in TX. I just cant bring myself to pay $300-500 for a Cold air intake.
Like the stance but being disabled I understand the tough to get into, hopefully what you did makes it a lot easier, who knows maybe you can leave it. Liking the old bull nose too, I’ve always wanted one of those lol or the 7.3 😂…ah yes the mind of a ford guy😂😂
Hi, I am Sakib. I saw that you are very serious about RU-vid, But cannot growing the channel. So, I analyzed your channel and saw that In your channel have many problem. If you can solve your videos will get more engagement. If you can give me permission I can tell these problems. . Are you allowed? Waiting for a approve to tell to you!.. Are you? Hope you are if you want to know. here or email? I am anywhere and How are you? I am good, If you can solve these problems, Your videos will get more reach . But, first you have to know these problems.
In for the headlight build! My 7.3 was stolen earlier this year, was going to make the smarter financial choice and get a 2nd gen 5.0, but seeing this I may just have to get another 7.3. Mine was a Crew Cab Long bed too, loved it for 14 years! Keep the vids coming again!
Hey Joe I am understanding that You Eliminated your fuel Bowl . My largest question is: Did you ADD A FUEL FILTER somewhere else ? Or do you enjoy dealing with Injector and other Fuel system Problems ? I also hope that you stay in a Warm Climate with it. No Fuel Heater will likely cause difficult Cold Starts or further issues !
Yes, I added an airdog fuel pump/filter setup. So a much higher grade of filtration and fuel delivery. As for the heater, unless you live in a very cold climate, and don't pay attention to your fuel, its not a concern. It doesn't get that cold in the PNW. Setup has been working flawlessly for many years now.
I just put a set of " Torque" air bags on the back of my 01 Platinum edition F250. The air bags might be a good option for you so you can air the bags up when you need to haul weight with the truck. Can't explain stupidity brother, some people have absolutely no business working on vehicles. Your truck looks good to me 👍👍
Lovin' that stance. Concerning headlights, I'm going to be putting 05+ sealed beam on my 2000. Been researching LED bulbs and i found a good set that has a great beam pattern and offers just as much, if not more, luminosity as composite. Buddy of mine asked why I'm doing it and i told him, "I like the look."
Seriously my friend, you offer such great videos to all these issues that come up around these super duty's. Have owned my 2001 F350 since 04' and have done almost every repair and mod myself. Without hand-holding videos such as this, I would probably not own the truck anymore. I have watched many of your videos and you always do a great job giving thorough visuals and explanations to the steps involved. You're an inspiration to all the able bodied folks, let alone the fact you're overcoming the challenge of being in a wheelchair. Many thanks to you, my good man! Keep em' coming👍
Have owned 6.0s since I been able to drive. Buying my first 7.3 tomorrow with 152k miles and this is a bad ass channel I just subscribed today. Awesome videos brother.
I Like it, Amazing job Joe! I didn't realize that changing out those blocks were not that much trouble. I was always afraid those springs would come bustin outta there, lol. But it looks like you took all the tension off the springs, you're giving me hope and confidence to do it myself now Joe. 👍😁 Thanks for sharing my friend. Jay.
Not a bad job at all. That centering pin holds all the leafs together. You could also throw a c clamp in them if it made you feel more comfortable with it. Not complicated though.
I know this is not a new video, but came in handy. I tried telling my husband there was a different issue. I had been doing my research. I drove his dodge for 3 weeks while my Tahoe was getting hail damage fixed. Ac was horrible. He took it to a shop. They couldn't figure it out. Ha should I send them your video?😂
We now know air temps seem to be lower with a closed system. ..what is better, more CFM or lower temperatures? Im sure it depends on the setup/demand you have...lots of variables here.
Hydra made my truck a new truck it just feels so good to drive.. I ran 4 in turbo back straight pipe and upgrading to gauges and intercooler soon. It’s so nice to feel the power difference and how much better it is to drive. I don’t drive it like a sports car but I enjoy being able to get to speed smoother ..
I just purchased a 99 f450 7.3 with 6 speed. Its perfect for my line of work as a brick mason since it has a 9 foot flatbed. It has a 4" exhaust and what looks to be a K&N intake. Im curious what mods i could do for more power hauling heavy loads that won't sacrifice reliability? I had a 2000 f350 i purchased new and this 99 already runs stronger. Probably has slightly lower gears which helps but it seems to have more power to begin with. Not looking for a hot rod, just wantinng better performance while towing.
Some mild tunes would make a world of difference for towing. Nice thing is you don’t have to go crazy with it. I’m sure a turbo could help some but not really necessary.
@LivingOnWheels I hauled a load of stone the other day, the trailer I use is only sixteen feet so not very heavy. The payload was 9000 lbs. Overall I probably wasn't over 20,000 lbs gross but was very happy with how it pulled going through some mountain passes. I only paid $4000 for this truck which was a steal in my opinion. It only has 135,000 miles and is in great condition still. The f350 that I had before had 350,000 miles when I sold it, no idea how how many it has now? That was ten years ago. Can you suggest what tunes might be good? I'm thinking if I put a little money into this truck as far as performance it would be even better. There's a couple exhaust brakes I'm looking at, are there any negative effects using those? Thanks for responding to my previous post.
@@goldentrunnell7450 As far as I am concerned the best route to go with tuning these trucks is the PHP Hydra. I actually did a video on it not too long ago if you check out the channel page.
@LivingOnWheels I did watch that video, that's the one I've been leaning towards. I'm 61 so the technology side of things is a little over my head! I have a couple VW beetles I tinker with and could tell you a lot about those. Haha... The one I was driving today is a 2110cc compared to the 1200cc it originally came with. Couterweighted cranks, big valve heads and dual Weber carbs all make sense to me. Switching out electronics and pushing buttons to modify power in your engine doesn't make as much sense in my old brain so I like watching videos like yours. Thanks again for your input.
I’m attempting a swap similar to this (8.3 Cummins) and I’m shopping around for chassis cab trucks (lots of them with blown motors) but I can’t find any real resources on anyone doing any swaps on this trucks so no pictures of the front of the frame inside the engine compartment. The 8.3 is coming out of a chassis as well so width of mounting should be perfect but I’m reading that these frame are like normal truck frames up front then narrow in the rear? Is that the case? Thanks for your time!
I’m new to this channel I just recently picked up a 2001 7.3 after not owning one for 13 years and love the upgrades you do. My first two I bought new and never did any upgrades but am enjoying the process on the 2001. This is what I’ve done recently Adrenaline hpop Cnc hpop lines with crossover Frx fuel 6637 filter AIH delete I am thinking the new dash lights will be my next project. The truck has 135,000 miles so I’m waiting on injectors and turbo. Anyways love your channel.
Do you have an amazon store/ garage. I dient see a link in bio. If i am buying stuff you suggest i would love for you to get a kick back. You do great work thank you.
Much appreciated! I don’t have a storefront page but if you use the Amazon links in the video description to add the items to your cart the channel still gets a kick back.
