I like your approach. As a P (MBTI) I find being too rigid or overly rule based in any regular activity starts to overwhelm and depress me. "Going with the flow" suits me better 😊 Btw the marshmallow pen is beautiful. I put it on my "someday collect list"
I love both, my Carène Deluxe and the Edson. They both have L nibs, which I love. My fingers sometimes slide down too far and I get inky fingers, but I don’t mind one bit! I’m glad you got a chance to play with these! 💗🖋️🎉
Carènes have the reputation to be leakers because of the inlayed nib...is that still the case? I love the Carène but never wanted to buy one blindly online without testing it first because of this rumour. Anyone know more about that?
I have a Carene and the nib does seep ink on mine. It's just a little seepage so I can still use the pen, but it's enough to prevent me from using it more often.
I have asked this question in my discord and will update if I get any replies. I have not used the pens enough to be able to answer. So far, I haven't noticed this. But I also didn't look.
I have the Marine Amber in medium. It's one of the most beautiful and comfortable pens I own. The comfort surprises me because I generally prefer a girthier section. I have been wondering if I would have preferred a finer nib, but from your video, I'm not seeing enough of a difference to matter for me. Thanks for sharing your impressions! sharing
It doesn't matter for the Yoseka sticker. I remember Daisy talking about their logo in one of their videos and that it was intentionally designed to be the same either up or down.
Hi, I know this isn’t from this video, but I have long admired the tag that you have on another Traveler’s Notebook and wondered where it was from. It looks ceramic and has a lovely stylised painting of a bird on it.
In terms of keeping bottles clean: I pour from a new bottle into a sample vial and try to open my bottles as little as possible (they are 100 mL BPC bottles so I expect to have them my whole lifetime 😅)
I love the water lily koi and primary manipulation pens! I just love the swirls and variation of color in the resins. Sometimes I really feel more compelled to spend more money on a custom pen because someone actually made them versus spending $300 on a platinum pen. I have purchased 5 custom pens so far and I always sit and admire them before I start writing with them. I was looking at one with orange in it and normally I'm not an orange person. But I guess it's a summer color. I hope you get one you love at the SF penshow.
@@seemownay Nice! I think my sister might have those? I should try some different brands. I've stuck with Solomon because they seem to fit my feet well, but maybe something would fit even better.
I can’t remember if you finished reading Amor Towles’ A Gentleman in Moscow, but when I saw your Lincoln Highway postcard, if his novel by that name is anywhere near your TBR, YES! YES! But maybe read his Rules of Civility first.
Also I agree with you on the screw on caps to post. I love my twsbi mini's, they are a great size for me, weight and they write so nicely (especially their stub nibs imo of course lol). But it's amazing how having to do that twist motion over and over gets to you if you do it a lot in one sitting while journaling. Maybe the 590's will have a cap and seal like the Pilot Prera's haha, that would be amazing!
Also, I bought a pen from Bonecrusher 7 (not this color, but Primary Manipulation 4 - Hope I get it and it’s not out of stock!) based on seeing the one in your video, I was confident knowing it’s got the same Jowo #6 nib as my Esties which I love. Thanks, love watching your videos like this one especially, as I learn so much. ❤
I’m considering a waterman carene- I hope you do share your thoughts and possibly compare it to the Pilot E95s..I like Pilot but hate the converter. Is there a gold or steel nib on the Carene ….
Great video ! I’m glad to see the weekly is working out for you for your mail log! I’ve never tried Sterling Ink inserts- so I got 2 - a standard size which I may use for a future pen log notebook and a passport size which I want to use as a penpal address book. I hope you’re having a good weekend so far. 😄
I’ve gone through this multiple times now. You’ve given me some good ideas. I’ve refined how I use my own planner systems a bit this year and decided it’s okay if I have the Standard size weeks. I will probably try Sterling Ink this year. And I’m going to keep using the Hobo Weeks as an EDC. It seems a bit pricey for jotting to do lists and work tasks but it’s small enough to carry with me and it makes me happy so it seems silly not to continue. Part of the guilt is that when I’m between show there is so much less to keep track of but I love that you just use some when necessary. Plus I have a lot of stickers so I could choose some larger ephemera to decorate this pages if I don’t want them blank. So many ideas. I’m probably going to go through it again when I’m back from my trip to organize myself. Work should slow down considerably soon. Knock on wood.
I, too, do not enjoy cleaning. 😅 I love that list you found and am going to see if I can download it. We do the basic things to keep the house running, but the stuff on the list is very ad-hoc and it turns out not even a fancy hobonichi weeks is enough motivation for me to plan them out in advance 😝
Very cool. I am glad it was relatively easy for you, and you have it the way you want. The only thing, and it's not a big deal, but the Sailor logo on the nib won't match the cap on the black PG. Tinkers Unite.
I use a JLP CREATIONS THE AUTHOR it has 68gsm tomoe river its amazing it comes in plain dot grid or lined and it has a beautiful leatherette cover I have like 9 of them they are a bit pricey but I think they are worth it they also recently came out with a b5 size which I am going to get next year for my bullet journal they come with 192 off white pages which are very nice :) I hope that helps :)
@@seemownay I was surprised by that too! I had to sneak and catch up on some things so wasn't ready to do it in June. I also had to get my thoughts together.
Were you able to find the link? I just came here to share it with you. The monthlies were included with those binders. And because I have two of them, I have quite a lot. CAGIE A5 Binder 6 Ring Binder amzn.to/3TE0f4A
Tasks not completed on a day get an arrow showing they have been moved to new day. Items started have a circle beside them, then I put a line through the circle once done. Tasks that no longer need to be thought about get a line through the task. For work a curved arrow with initials shows I've delegated it. Pulling on the bullet journal principles, but making it work for me.
At 37:02, you asked about the meaning of the writing on your washi. I looked it up in a dictionary, and i found “lovey dovey, head over heels in love.” It’s like, *love* love. 😆
I tend to make a cup of coffee/tea when I sit down to watch chatty YT videos so I do feel like I'm sitting there with the person behind the camera ;) You got some lovely new goodies to play with - enjoy them, you don't have to justify anything to any of us!
I’ve swapped some nibs successfully, (like on Jinhaos and cheap Pilots), but I’m way too afraid to break my Sailors. But thanks for showing us it can be done!
Well, I'm convinced - no Sailor nib swapping for me! Too scary. Even though I can imagine use cases for which a swap would be quite handy. Bravo to you; I'm afraid of breaking the feed.
I don't know why this felt doable to me whereas I have never attempted to pull a Jowo nib and feed out of the housing because I always feel like I'll break it.
