The Fiat Punto is arguably one of Fiat's most popular car in the last 30 years, these days there are many thousands of cars on the road all over the world as far as south America, India and on Fiat's home ground in Europe. Although the Punto ceased being produced in 2018 there are still many Fiat models built using the same principles such as the Panda and the 500.
The simplicity of these cars makes them highly sought after both for their cheapness to buy and run, but also for people who want to save money by working on their own car.

This channel aims to provide How To videos and advice as well as some other occasional car and Fiat related videos for those who are enthusiastic about these little cars.

Thanks for checking this page, I look forward to seeing your comments in the videos.

Hey pal, just got an 5dr evo GP few months ago, I fitted an orignal armrest so far and just saw your heated seats installation. Ive got 2 questions about that. 1 - What is the two-directonal arrow on the lower arm rest suppossed to do. 2 - What trim level had leather seats as i wish to get some or some seat covers that replace the fabric ones
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto День назад
The button on the arm rest is for electrically adjustable lumbar support, the leather seats were an option never standard fit on any level of trim, my car had been a demo car for the fiat main dealer in London so most of the options had been ticked

Thanks. At 4:00 we can see the 'cloth wrapping' of the wire is coming loose. That seems to be normal at the ends of all the wiring of these cars of that age.
@PuntoHowto

Very normal on any car that the tape unwraps a bit after a few years, and loses its stick. You can buy replacement fabric tape easy enough and I bought some for my recent mk1 project

Hello awesome video and thank you for the detailed information about the rebuild. I`m doing the same with mine Punto 1.2 16v mk2. Do you know the flatness tolerance of the block deck and head? In the Haynes manual is cited 0.1mm of the head mating surface, but in the Victor Reinz installation manual is cited 0.05mm longitudinal and 0.03mm transverse. Which values did you use and also what brand head gasket? Thank you.
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto 13 дней назад
I used an unbranded head gasket set from a uk company. I went by the Haynes manual but it’s not going to hurt to be even more precise. These heads are prone to warping, as I was not replacing mine for any over heating issue, I didn’t feel the need to be so exact, but if I was then then I would have sent the head to be skimmed

Just bought the third Fiat, diesel one, changed the air filter 20 000km; just wonder if it is good to put in sport filter K&N ( Abarth and petrol Fiat both have sport filters)
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto 14 дней назад
Generally you’ll find it’s not worth it, just stick a good quality filter and you’ll be fine, if you really want to spend the money on a sports filter then go for it but they are unlikely to make much difference to the turbo diesel

I am from India. I have FIAT AVVENTURA which is basically Punto. I was having a problem with battery drain out. Then after lot of research , i found it is the problem with my Blue and Me. Now after disconnecting Blue and Me box , the problem has been resolved. But now i have lost my hands free option , and my USB ports and mobile chargers also do not work. FIAT has moved out from India. Can you guide me what should I do ? Can I use market available android system without the blue and me box?

These tools are pretty stupid - they have no trigger switch so you aren't in complete control and you can't control the speed. I usually end up revving it up and cutting/grinding after the switch is turned off. Most people would be better to get an electric die grinder.
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto 23 дня назад
Having been doing quite a bit of cutting this week with a grinder, I did try your suggestion of turning it off, but if you do turn it off and then try to cut while it’s winding down you pretty much immediately stop the disc. They’re not dangerous if used properly and with proper respect

Unfortunately a lot of cars are overly complicated these days. Fiat wanted to make the Evo look abit like the 500 hence the wings on the sides of the badge so I think it was done rather quickly and without much consideration of the engineering

@@PuntoHowto my Abarth logo was severely weathered, I bought a new original emblem and carefully split the two parts. Then removed the logo from the original badge and replaced it with a new one. Did you do it on a warm or cold engine?
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto 2 месяца назад
I’d suggest a cold engine, really you are looking to see if there is a difference between cylinders but if you do it on a warm engine then you have to contend with hot spark plugs and hot engine and risk burning yourself
@nequanlucas2162
@nequanlucas2162 2 месяца назад
@@PuntoHowto okay cool … so I’m curious whenever you have bent valves or slightly bent valves, that cylinder won’t be able to hold compression right?? I drive a mk7 gti and I know that the loud bang I heard under my hood was me jumping time.. I replaced the timing chain then later saw this video and did a compression test all cylinders were pretty much the same between 147-149 .. but the car runs like crap the car idles at 600 but after a drive it starts idling at 900 rpm so I’m just lost
@PuntoHowto
@PuntoHowto 2 месяца назад
@@nequanlucas2162 yes if you have bent valves then you’ll not have compression in those cylinders. That engine would be direct injection? It’s quite a lot more complex than the engine in this video I can’t really suggest what you can do to fix the problems you are having?
