I loved his character so much but so saddened by his fait. Throughout HB2 Senua watches many people who she could've easily saved die, so to see at the last battle the way she had every opportunity to save him instead of letting the father talk will always be the biggest flaw for me. With HB2 the game suffered from not having a story to tell beyond the first game, keeping his chatacter wouldve opened so many potential storylines for a third so it is a huge shame they killed him the way they did and when they did.
Such a phenomenal actor. It's nice to see him being so passionate and Remedy and Sam's work. It's a shame that these are the circumstances under which he got the role, but I'm glad to have him on board
So he is living the real multiverse experience, he met Max Payne as Sam Lake, he met Alan Wake as Ilkka Villi, maybe in the future he will meet Jesse Faden directly but as Courtney in our universe. This is so crazy 🤣 AMAZING INTERVIEW!!!
@@fishhuntingtackles8057 Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from 2017. The actor in the interview is Chris O’Reilly, who plays one of the main characters called Thórgestr in the most recent game.
I recently finished the game, so the timing of this video was perfect for me. I really enjoyed the interview; it had a lot of interesting information! Thorgestr ended up being one of my favorite characters.
Overall, I think Hellblade 2 is an improvement over the first game in almost every aspect. I've seen some criticism about its length, but I disagree. If it was longer, it might start to feel repetitive. It has the most cinematic combat I've ever played. It was very fluid and felt authentic. I really liked the parallels between Senua's and Thorgestr's stories. I'd love to see more of them.
I was about 30 hours in and getting ready to quit Starfield. Then I met Andreja. Over 1000 hours later and we're still going strong together. Characters matter. And Andreja is just the bomb. At least for me.
I’m not trying to be rude, but I just wanted to let you know that there’s a slight error in the title on the RU-vid video and on the Podcast apps (Apple, Spotify). It says Hellblade II: Senua’s Sacrifice (which was the subtitle for the first game). The newest game, that Chris stars in as Thórgestr, is called Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Hope this didn’t come off as arrogant, but just thought I’d let you know.
Oh no that's fine. I wanted to write Senua's Saga but I wrote Sacrifice for some reason. I will still keep it as Hellblade 2 Senua's Saga because many people refer to this game as Hellblade 2 and not Senua's Saga if you know what I mean But appreicate you letting me know

It’s definitely the most simple and common way to refer to the game. Very much looking forward to watching/listening! Huge fan of the whole Hellblade franchise and Chris’ performance as Thórgestr was incredible.
My next playthrough of Bg3 will be a Lae’zel Origin. It will be a ‘good route’, but the sassiness will be strong in her. I’m also going to romance Gale.
Tbh matthew would have done great as a face model for alan wake. But i guess they wanted a more handsome guy or a model. Glad he loves the american nightmare version of scratch like we all do. Also agree we should have the tweed jacket hoodie back as a outfit for 2. I was disappointed it was not a unlockable even for the deluxe edition.
Well they did cast Ilkka first who played the phyiscal role of Alan and then later on Matthew was casted for voice over. But it was easier for the studio to do this because Ilkka is from the same country

The narrator's line when you convince the ogre that you're supposed to be in Priestess Guts' room is great! The, (i know you save scummed this a million times tone) line is perfect.
i think it fits because aba isnt a zombie shes a homunculus so she should not be used to talking in the older game but in strive she should have experience by now
Been a poets of the fall fan for a few years now. It was definitely one of those moments that made me smile. It made both poets or in this case their alter ego apart of something great. Then have the mix of the dancers and cast members and Sam Lake doing the performance. The image of Sam smiling sticks in my head. On another note Ilkka Villi was in a movie from Nightwish called, Imaginaerum. He did a good job in that. Played the father of the main character. The movie has real dark themes in it. I won't say much story wise. But i realized afterwards it was Ilkka.
Yaa I've heard about this movie because all Ilkka fans talk about it. And even I remember Sam's smile on that live performance. It was so cool and getting to talk with Sam about that in the podcast was also pretty sweet
@@BehindTheVoicePod as far as the movie goes it seems to be his last English role. The cgi is still fairly good, given it was a movie filmed in Finland. Even realized while double checking what was listed on Wikipedia was accurate. I noticed he was in the music video for War by Poets of the fall, as Alan Wake. Sam seems like an interesting person to talk to. I heard in an interview with Marko Saarnesto, Sam never forgets anything. Which those two have a long friendship. Marko played the character in Max Payne called, Vlad. Which is amusing since Sam played the good guy, Max. I heard one night the two were out hanging out and as Marko was dropping off, Sam. He asked, "hey I have this band. Maybe we can do a song for your next game?" Sam responded, "yeah sure." A few weeks later called and asked about that song. The band itself from what I can tell was Marko and guitarist Olli Tukiainen. Which even those two have an interesting backstory of Marko playing another band in his early 20's. He was approached by a 14 year old Olli, who said his voice was awesome. Years later found each other in the same band. Whilst working on the song that would become, Late goodbye. They met Markus Kaarlonen aka The Captain, who produces everything. He made a post about the song, Harold of Darkness and how long it actually took. According to Markus the song arrangement is 45 minutes long, the actual song is 30 minutes. There's about 10 hours of vocals and guitar. The whole thing being condensed to 5 minutes on TV is insane.
“I have not sinned against Vlaakith. Vlaakith has sinned against me.” I had almost given up on trying to recruit Lae’zel as I didn’t find her with the tieflings and couldn’t get past the Mountain Pass encounter, but kept trying, and I’m so glad I did. That line to me encapsulates Lae’zel’s entire character arc, and remains my favorite line in the entire game. Every voice actor in this game did an incredible job, from the villains and heroes to the various npc’s you come across. And don’t get me started on the narrator. Her dark urge-specific lines give me chills.
Oh yaa, Amelia who was the narrator, she did such an incredible job. Her voice is just so wonderful. Every since actor did incredible. I think there are around 300 actors on this game
Freeing the Nightsong is easily the best scene in Act 2 and one of the best in the entire game. I quite literally had tears in my eyes. After such a depressing chapter in the story, seeing pure divinity was so uplifting. “Lay a hand on me in friendship, not-quite Sharran, and I will fight the battle that has been waiting for me this last century. Then-oh then, we will have much to discuss” is also one of my favorite lines in the entire game. Just how Aylin knows that Shadowheart isn’t nearly as heartless as she pretends to be, but is also fighting back the rage from a century of torment at Sharran hands…best supporting character in the entire game. Also I will always take her to Lorroakan to watch that puny pathetic wizard get his spine snapped in half like a toothpick. Really don’t know what he was expecting to happen. Helen’s voice perfectly captured the character: commanding and powerful, yet noble and kind at the same time.
Exactly my thoughts. That scene of Aylin being free finally is really amazing. As I said in the episode, I love dramatic moments and this one was that. Helen is so amazing and her performance for this character was brilliant
For me what made me like BG3 so much was the voice acting and the soundtrack. But I would have loved to hear my character also speaking. Not sure if that was not feasible.
I love using Astarion to get the holy Blood Mace and having him die in the process just so I can have Withers bring him back at camp. His reaction is gold.
