Hello there. My name is Lewis, and welcome to Eproth Studios. I am a 3D Animator who enjoys creating cool fight scenes and has a love for the web series: Red vs. Blue. So if you like what you see, then be sure to subscribe. It helps boost my ego and keep me motivated. Cheers. This channel is not really a studio (it's just one guy) and I have no affiliation to Rooster Teeth.
I mean to be fair, the series itself could best be described as out of context. I mean cmon. The show is hilariously random and insane at times. After all the show is literal chaos. And Red and Blue is good at 2 things Violence and batshit insanity lol
Watching this over is like constantly getting flashbanged with memes I can't imagine anyone watching this without seeing the other seasons and thinking this is the craziest machinama to ever be put out
I love this series, one idea I’ve had in my head for a while is that the real reason there’s plot-holes and inconsistencies between this series and what actually happened in Project Freelancer is that this is just the story that Tex is telling to Church(Alpha) after she comes back in Season 5. She deliberately altered some things when she tells him about project freelancer so he doesn’t have to re-experience his trauma from the program.
@@EprothStudios Getting walk cycles is one thing - I actually extracted all the spartan animations from Halo CE a while ago, the issue for me is retargeting and then integrating them into the animation. I'm not super well versed with the NLA editor in Blender so I struggle with having characters blend in and out of the cycles when I can't use a camera cut to mask it. It's actually a problem I am having literally right now because I'm doing the blocking for RvB-S1E8 and I've gotta have Grif turn and run while entirely on camera.
@@IrrelevantNonFilms yeah, i struggle with blending custom mocap with the cycles. I pretty much rely on cuts for that. The NLA is really simple for stacking and blending between cycles though. In this video I always cut between custom and cycled, except at ~1:24 where tex is custom>camera pans away> and it pans back and shes cycled
@@EprothStudios The dream is being able to just set up a bunch of extra models with animations on them already in the right location and then just blend your main model into them with some sliders. Probably could make a python script to set up all the required drivers, but, I'm _super_ lazy.
I absolutely love all the little touches you added to this like York flicking the lighter on or the footage of project freelancer in episode 2. Really goes a long way to connecting this odd little miniseries to the actual canon, even if Tex's retelling of the events doesn't make a ton of sense
Coming back, years later, right after the official Season 19 has dropped, and this isnt too far off from we did get. While my heart is heavy from what we have lost, I find comfort in knowing that we finally got an end to things, a good end. May the heroes that fell along the way be remembered by the ones who remain.
And let us remember the insane amount of violence and insanity that came from these 2 groups. From the Reds (Sarge, Grif, Simmons, Donut and Lopez) and the Blues (Church, Tucker, my favorite buffoon Caboose, Sheila, and Tex. And guess Carolina and Wash and Sister) let us all remember them for what they inspired.
Idk why, but for me this encapsulates them announcing the final season, which ended up being their best in years, after we thought the show was dead. Shit rose up from the grave and started dancing
The models are from the halo archive yeah. But I applied the secondary colours by taking the knife tool to the geo and applying a separate material in the right places. Messy but it works 😂
