I'm Justine (married to Scott), and together, we're a very crafty couple. I enjoy cross-stitching, paper crafts and my newest obsession: junk journaling; Scott enjoys technical projects like 3D printing and making digital displays.
If you love crafting (especially making junk journals and altered books), then House of Mahalo is for you.
Here, we hope to share all kinds of inspiration with you for your journals - from pretty junk journal ephemera ideas and page layouts to inspiring junk journal flip throughs.
What an excellent tutorial. Seeing how you dealt with things not going exactly how you expected is very much appreciated. And I think they look wonderful even without 'shaking" very much!
O WOW! All I can say is your so fortunate to be where you are in the midst of so much wonderful nature. And p181, second book, where did the blue tits, I believe, get those coconuts to feast on? Thank you so much for taking us through the Edith Holden journey. I will definitely not tear up pages or anything sacrilegious, (!), like that, but take pictures of them and then fussy cut them. International Book Barn!!!! As I said, you are just so lucky! Looking forward to joining in on more book tours with you. And, btw, I also was looking at the poems shared in the second book. That may be the reason why they had a different type set for this book.
I believe the coconuts you saw are what we sometimes put out for birds in our gardens - they're full of suet, which is full of fat, protein and calories (ideal for the winter) 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed seeing these 🥰🥰
Yes! What's on my desk is definitely a good kicking-me-into-gear series. I make while watching, not necessarily what you're making, but there's always something that sparks an idea or leads me in a new direction to use up my things. Thanks for the hang-out time Justine 😁
Aww yay, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it 🤩💖 I've been thinking of doing a mini challenge full of "what's on your desk" tasks. I could do with finishing up a few things 💖
Hi Justine, I came across your videos when I was trying to figure out what the heck a junk journal is and why anybody would make one. I enjoyed watching your series of videos. I learned a lot and find myself wanting to try it for myself. You did a great job!
I love what you did with the door! I’m a perfectionist too and sometimes it is not helpful!! I’d be the same as you in that regard. I love watching your working process and love your longer videos too, so don’t apologise if they feel a bit long to you. If people don’t want to watch they can pause or switch off! Keep going!
I’m with you on that Justine, when you’re having a rubbish day, a bit of tearing paper and crafting works wonders! That’s what I do, helps every time! It’s my therapy for the mind! I love listening to your gentle voice, it’s soothing too. Some RU-vidrs I can’t watch because of the pitch of their voice even though they’re good, because I have severe M.E and fibromyalgia and hypersensitive to sounds! You’re my “go to” along with megjournals. So yes I’ve watched the entirety of this video and loved every minute, thank you so much! I hope things sort themselves for you xxxx
I'm afraid I don't have a video for this specific tassel. However, I make mine the same way every time. This video shows my process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0tnUMziiAfU.htmlsi=Yh4pCVXdWJBuE055 I hope this helps! 😊💖 xoxo
Hi Lois, Thanks for your message 😊 I have a few books I can potentially sell to you. I've got another brown one exactly like this but I've already removed some of the pages from it (I prepared 2 books at the same time). Otherwise, I have some red & gold ones and I think I might have a green & gold one, which are all still in their original form. If any of that sounds okay, please email me on justine@houseofmahalo.com and we can sort something out 😊💖 xoxo
@@houseofmahalo Thank you! I don't have a lot of stamps and stencils but Ive been thinking about getting just a few that I can use for a lot of things I'd have everything if I could but a little thing called "space" is needed LOL🤣
