This is my second time here I believe, I have to say the idea of using this music is nothing short of brilliant. Fantastic video. 👍🍺 Awesome player, hands down.. he was an animal.
Håkan Loob hade definitivt varit före Kenta Nilsson i min bästa line.
In 1997/98, Gretzky was age 37, set to retire, and Forsberg was age 27 in his prime. Gretzky was playing on a non-playoff team with no decent offensive players (Nicklas Sundstrom anyone?), and Forsberg was on an all-star team known as the Colorado Avalanche. And Gretzky finished *ONE* point back of Forsberg in points (and tied a 27 year old prime Bure). How is this even possible? It’s because it’s Gretzky. Imagine if Gretzky was on the Avalanche or on the Canucks on a line with Bure AND Mogilny that season? Would have been embarrassing.
Having lived in Colorado at that time I was fortunate to have watched those glory days and Peter was so much better than any compilation can really show. Still, this was a beautiful countdown.
... in my oppinon, If a current NHL top Team Had to Fight with a top Team from Clutch n Grab era by the Rules of this time - Zero Chance, destruction ... Look at the physicality of the Players , i mean Forsberg ist a beast, Like a wrestler on Skates... in the other Hand todays Hockey ist much faster and more elegant
"Fors" means "rapids" (like streaming water) in Swedish, but somehow, the English nickname was so much better suited for his playstyle - hard to take on the Force, when there's an entire mountain of it <3
I’ve never told any of my Red Wing fan friends this but i was originally an avalanche fan. their squad for NHL Hitz was legendary and i liked the uni’s. This was at the tail end of the rivalry so it’s a tough thing to admit lol
If you deny the fact that Forsberg at his prime was the best player in the world, you are delusional. There are many times during his career when he wasn't at his best, but when he was free from injuries, he'd kill any team on his own. Take Finland in 2003. Only Forsberg does that.
He was unbelievable. But in 90s in NHL was playing Jagr who was in his prime and Jagr was better.I am not saying that Forsberg can't be compared to Jagr but Jagr wins it.And let's not forget about Lindros
Nbr 3 - Lillehammer.... I was there that day 1994 and that goal made it into a post stamp ... I even got the stamp :) But Never forget the goal of Svensson - even more epic - and thanks to SALO we made it
His greatest strength was his biggest weakness. The heart to never give up and push past pain is what ruined his career, but also what made him so great
OMG...Awesome video, but have to sit and listen to Håkan Södergren over and over was just awful. Please release this video and letus hear the excited commentators instead.
All accolades have already been written. I’ll just reiterate them, because watching Peter Forsberg videos still gives me goosebumps, borderline tears. He was an absolute ice hockey phenom! What most younger folks don’t get is that Forsberg’s career coincided with the worst spectator-friendly and hockey-unaesthetic era of clutch-and-grab. Technical forwards were much more easily shut down without drawing opposing team penalties. It’s of course all hypothetical, and you can’t compare eras, but I honestly believe that Peter Forsberg would have surpassed Wayne Gretzky’s points per game average had he played either before the 90’s and early 2000’s, or after 2005.
How is his flyers goal on the PP where he’s literally looking pass the entire time not even looking at the net and he quickly changes his angle from pass to shooting and snipes the top corner of the net without looking basically, not many if any players I’ve ever seen pull that move off to perfection
