Yo dude. My damage is never enough. To beat the Hand of the King, it requires you to have at least 7k-10k of damage. Mine is only around 2k-4k even with the scrolls used for 1 stat only. I'm still stuck at 2BC btw. Does it mean it is almost mandatory to have to pick up or buy new weapons as I progress? Since the The Blacksmith's Apprentice only allow you to upgrade the gear's quality once, not even gear's level. If that is true, does it also mean that I have to constantly change my play style during 1 run because I cannot stick to something that I am familiar with at a particular time? Please help, I've been stuck at 2BC and I can no longer keep my sanity.
Trust me, I know a thing or two about losing sanity, especially at 5BC. What I'll tell you might not be new to you, but I'll try regardless: Have you try practicing against the Hand of the King at the Training Room? You're not guaranteed to beat it, given you're thrown to it with level 1-1-1 and starting-level equipment, but it has helped me with a handful of bosses when I was stuck. Have at it multiple times and build confidence. You can also start custom runs and remove certain weapons you don't want to find, but leaving enough of them to be allowed to get a new Boss Cell. It might hurt your ego, but your sanity will thank you. Let me know how that goes for you. You got this!!
@@ThatOneArgentinianGamer I see. So basically I need to practice more and try the custom mode. Yeah I get you, man. It's just that, for practicing, it helps me to know the pattern of the bosses, but my damage is not enough to take advantage of that. Can't finish them off quickly means there's more room for error. Eventually I will screw up, and at 2BC, it is already unforgiving. Them bosses hit like a freaking TRUCK! Takes 3 hits and I'm done. Even the elites kill me in 3 hits. You know the Slasher? I was stun-locked by this mofo till dead. Custom mode is interesting indeed, but I haven't touched it. It allows some cool mechanisms to be activated, and some limitations as well. Thank you so much. I will try out your advices and see how they go.
@@khaiphamba5991 Absolutely! I know the "practice makes perfect" answer is not one anyone wants to hear, I bit my tongue when that thought came across, but Dead Cells is a game that relies on reflexes built on pattern recognition. You're one step closer to victory once you're able to face him off with more confidence. That being said, a good build is the other half of the game, so as for not being able to deal that much damage... any and all weapon that takes advantage of affixes other than stun or freeze (since those don't last nearly long enough to take advantage from) will be of great help. The Wolf Trap will be your best friend here if you use it strategically, couple that with the Cleaver or anything you can use to summon Biters (the purple little worms) to nibble on his ankles. That's about what I can come up with at the moment. Don't let the game discourage you, keep pressing on and onward to victory!
@@ThatOneArgentinianGamer Haha I just got wrecked by the enemies in the Slumbering Santuary. The Dancer, Caster and the Golem. Golems punch the freaking cells out of me LOL. Almost smashed the keyboard 😆😂🤣
@@ThatOneArgentinianGamer At this rate I think I'm gonna have to use 2 shields (1 with Armadillopack), a brilliant idea that someone has just told me that I was like "why tf didn't I think about that before?" Maybe this will slightly increase the chance to salvage my soul.
You know there is a lot of reasons of why you want curse first of all you get more mimics makes you able to not use as much keys and pedestal mimics two items also you can go to the black market and get more money
Oh I do now lol. Sadly, I wasn't aware of the malaise that plagues 5BC before making this video, but at that point, these tips end up feeling like drops of water into a bucket. By 5BC, the only tip I can give you is pray, yet don't give up!
I was actually able to beat the Dragun and The Hunter's past......on a fresh save file.........on the very first run.........which also required collecting all of the Bullet components on each floor........all in one single run............. Granted, I have played the game before for many many hours, so I have plenty of experience and knowledge of the game, but I still think that's quite an achievement, considering there are pretty much no particularly strong or OP late-game weapons or passive items available on a fresh save file. I was pretty surprised that I was able to do it.
No, just no buddy i have over 5k hour and i must say you are w r o n g in some parts :3 1 tip:uh. No if ur playing tactic play slow cuz u finna get 2 shotted if u play brut survive, go do his tip. Or do it same with tactic if ur good 2:Ye. Fuck mushroom boi, Also that mechanic is called "i forgor" cuz i fucking forget, ye that mutation is dogshit btw time aint gonna do shit in late game cuz u will have max 4 second or 2 secon' to recover what it gonna do? 4 to 8 2 to 4? Nah thanks i rather use disangagement (idk if i even am correct) to get protected if i'm below 15% 3:exploring can be fun, but u need to stop slacking in stages cuz after u slack u may not have time to get ur malaise in 5bc of ur in 5bc or loose time doors they aren't important as much as kill doors. slacking makes u spend more time useless 4:heavy hitting is bad?! My man have y ever heard of frost blast? No offense but ur opinion may be slacking in that matter when i can prove ur shit is not roght with 1 item 5:i agree u on make sure u need to deal enough damage to take down foes Rely on ur colored weapon dont just spread all scrolls in all colors like if u play brut. Do Example:11/2/3 Not:5/5/5 Or sum shit 6:affix? Got u homie ur right If ur playing assasin dager U shouln't use shits that will hurt u instead benefit Dont use bombs or pets. Use fazer and omawa mo shinderu the enemy Ass. Dagger crit condition:Hit em in back Vorpan:If they face u, they get bonk (crit) Synergy? Pulling hook Blood sword? Throwing knife Saw turret (i forgor name) The turret that makes enemy bleed. I agree u on the 7 too. But if u use hook or face flask, ye ur not getting that foe 8:no no no no, u might fall in spikes nails or Poison....water... (intense ptsd) Anywaaays~ Just dont stomp after stage 2: corrupt prison And prison depts Cuz most will have traps use stomp if ur sure u will have no risk 9:ok. Solid tip. 10:get good.
Tip 1: Use pilot. All other characters are nothing compared to the all powerful and all gambling pilot. Extra active item? He got you. Extra ammo in guns? He got you. Cheaper shop discounts? He got you. Open chests without keys? He… sometimes got you. Useless starter? He always got you.
A friend put it inside Premiere for me. I only Use Vegas, but it's working now no worries but yeah couldn't open it at first thanks for answering! @@ThatOneArgentinianGamer
another way to tell if a chest is a mimic or not is just, look at it, same goes with boss podiums, they have little animations saying it's a mimic like eyes blinking or the top rattling a little
What I ended up doing at that point was go to the training room, go to his room and learn his pattern as best as I could until I was confident enough. Of course, the confidence you build takes a leave the second you make it to the real deal 😂, but perseverance is key! You got this!!
i get your point about the green weapons aka heavy heating one but if you are good at parrying and you have a good enough enchantments on it you one shot every thing even in prefinal room which is just so op
Survival need the most knowledge of the game to use effectively, it's the build with most cc in game, if you know the crit condition and used it at it full potential you technically have a build which have more ways to down enemy more way to avoid damage, some build are just down right make you cheese the boss (root grenade + wolf trap, cannon + crushers and so on) I think you just need to spend a lot more time (considering how you went to cavern with the main stat at 13)
5BC (hell mode) player of 1.3k hours here. This was shaping up to be a very solid beginner guide to the game... until your 4th point. I won't deny that heavy weapons can be difficult to use, but that does not mean that you should avoid them. With the right knowledge of timing and spacing, they're all very effective and survival has the highest hp and some of the best mutations available to use in conjunction with them. I'd also like to point out that you shouldn't ever be considering changing your build color mid-run, as that ends up wasting scrolls which is something you should never do because of how valuable a single one can be with the scaling system later in a run. Also don't always take a shield. They're great, but secondary weapons can create some very fun and effective builds. Overall, a very nice guide. You just fell into the most common pitfall of new players in the game of avoiding heavy weapons.
I can totally see your point with heavy-weapons. I've seen players practically breaking the game in half using them. It takes a lot of time to get used to those and, more often than not, they become quite frustrating to use. I'm the finest example there, it's part of the reason I used it as a tip. Looking back though, I should have said something like "take your time to get used to them", an oversight of my part. That's also true! Something I should have said in the video as well. True, shields aren't mandatory. It often depends on your play-style and I definitely didn't bring one on my secondary slot when I beat the game for good. It comes without saying that parrying can be hugely beneficial as well, but in the grand scheme of things, two weapons offer better results. Thank you kindly for the comment! If anyone else is reading this, @sharkastic2633 brings up a good point. Heavy weapons aren't bad at all. They just take longer to get used to and can still be as, if not way stronger than the other color weapons. Hell, I managed to beat 5BC with one, mostly for the huge health-pool, but still!
Idk... Like I agree with what your saying and I'm only 2 boss cells deep, but they often aren't optimal in more scenarios than the ideal. I feel like there needs to be an overhaul for the entirety of the class of weapons. Possibly some damage mitigation while winding up or something? idk they just never feel good to even use. And I love large fuck all weapons, especially in Souls games. Dead Cells kinda doesn't make them feel as natural as every other class of weaponry for me.
@@treymtz It's just you. They certainly take a bit of getting used to, but they can feel more fluid and natural than faster weapons when you get to the point of being able to use them well. Make sure to manage distance as well as enemy timing many survival weapons also come with extraordinary range that can keep you very safe during the windup. Timings are also very important not just to attacks but in tandem with distance as well. You can queue an attack when an enemy is approaching you in order to strike before the enemy can even start their attack.
On tip four if you ever find yourself struggling to fight cocoon is always a valuable option, i managed to jump through BC 2 and i’m brute forcing my way through BC 3 with it, especially against bosses like the giant
Absolutely! It might be a troublesome to get the Cocoon in the first place, but I can see it matching well with heavy weapons that take both weapon slots.
Parrying is your best friend in any Survival build. Don't have an open weapon slot for a shield? Armadillopack mutation or the Cocoon skill. Though I will say, if you don't have a shield (in which case, what is wrong with you? /j), crowd-control effects definitely go a long way with slower weapons*. _*This obviously excludes bosses like Giant or HotK who can't easily be CCd._
These tips are awesome! I’m new to Dead Cells, I have like 22 runs and I haven’t fought a boss yet. There is so much to this game that I don’t understand lol. Like, where are the bosses? How I play now, I obviously try to get as far as possible and synergize my weapons/mutations (?) and that’s it lol. Thank you for the video! This content is so helpful and I appreciate your work. Big Ups and Happy New Year!
Thank you very much! The game does require an insane amount of attempts to even reach the first boss. It demands skills that you build upon every death, so persevere! If I could beat the game, everybody can! 💪 Thank you so much again for the comment! And happy new year to you too! 👊
i don't think the gaming industry is for full time jobs cuz everyone starts gaming as a hobby or maybe to pass time or escape from stressful life or perhaps just for social experience with friends or something bt as you grow you will have to choose between working as a normal adult and you know build your life or turning your hobby gaming into a job for living which is very hard and you don't quit enjoy the games as they become a job too. unless you are filthy rich and don't care about money or jobs since everything is available to you but even then things may lose meaning....
Well, he have 167 hours and 311 death, that to only finish the 3rd difficulty on 5, and yet he still need to go all the way on the 5th difficulty and beat it to realy finish the game. That is more like DeadCells stopped laughing a while ago x)
Hey man, do you know how to escape the pit with a corpse in it in the forgotten sepulcher? Because i fell in there and couldn't get out, can i escape from there?
I have never encountered that room before, actually! If the walls in that pit are narrow enough, you could climb your way up while having the Spider Rune. Otherwise... yeah, you'll be unable to escape it if there are no ledges you could climb back up to.
This game is so fucking hard lol. I can NOT beat the Hand of the King. Granted, I've tried the exact same run 200+ times. I like the damn weapons I got. Accidentally hit B and now I have to restart and it's not even like that fun to get back to where I was before, it's annoying. I don't get the fun factor.
*and Ninja Gaiden is my favorite franchise of all time. Games like Celeste, Dark Souls, Elden Rings... where is the fun at in games anymore? It's all "hard for the site of being hard".
@@RyanDMoore You could try doing what I did with a boss I shall not spoil: Going to the Training room and fight the Hand of the King multiple times until you get his pattern down. It sounds tedious, but it did the trick for me! As for the difficulty, well... at some point, a ton of gamers were complaining that games were too easy, so the hard-as-nails games made a comeback, and I'm all in for it 👊.
