How fun! Lots of great finds. I love that dogwood wall art, mirrored birdcage (I love Ballard Designs), swan lamp and the vase. Those bird cages will look great in your garden room too.
Deborah, out of the many channels I follow on RU-vid, you are by far my very favorite!! I even rewatch your episodes while waiting for a new one to come out. I bet you have many followers that do the same thing. Regarding your paint color, I have an idea… It seems to me you always gravitate towards warmer rather than cooler colors. The wood you seem to gravitate toward always seems (to me) to be a warmer color wood. For some reason, the flooring you chose seems to be a cooler wood tone. That may not be the case - it just be how I’m seeing it. If that is the case, I would look for the warmest color you can find in your flooring, and try to match it or match a shade of it. Just a thought… And… I’d like to thank you sooooo much for sharing all of the wonderful, inspiring information you share in your channel. You truly are a Rock Star of Creativity. #RockStar ❤️❤️
Oh, I love this! Will this process work with unpainted red brick? My family room is floored in Saltillo tile, reds, pinkish and yellow tones....what colors would you suggest for our fireplace brick? Saltillo tile is beautiful but already so textured....so I'm worried that I won't get my layered paint colors correct. I so love how yours turned out!
@lynnedelgado2341 good morning! Thank you! Yes, it will work! Would you be able to email photos to me so I can see what your floors and brick look like? @thepaintedsouth@gmail.com I wouldn't want to give any suggestions without seeing your floors and brick. Also, I would try to do a sample board or practice on a few spare bricks. I'll look for your email! Have a wonderful day! Xoxoxo
Everything looks so wonderful. I'm glad I stumbled over this video now that the fall will be coming up. I have a few christmas houses I've been wanting to transform into gingerbread houses. Thank you so much
Good morning! This was the fireplace in our last home. I painted it like 3 times. 😆 I toned it down just a tad after this look in the video, along with the wood mantel. 🤍
Well, I can't get enough of THE PAINTED SOUTH ❣️ Deborah, please never stop creating‼️ You give me the courage to try my hand at creating and enhancing different items. I so enjoy your painting ♥️ Texture is key, and you really do it well 🤗 The floor lamp, turned planter is my favorite.
@ladonnawhitcomb4665 good morning! Thank you so much. ☺️ today is a good day to go thrift shopping! I am going back to an estate sale today and then thrifting for more treasures to upcycle. The estate sale is 25% off today and then 50% tomorrow. Have a fabulous weekend! Xoxoxo
The color of those curtains are the blue color next to the teal color in your picture. They have been miss marked. Something similar had happened to me but a completely different product. If you’re not pleased with your purchase, you are entitled to return them. You may find the color your looking for locally. You’re husband did an awesome job on your columns and arch. Love your video’s
I would paint the fireplace the color of the wall because I would want that opening garden wall to be the feature. Also, I would go back to the inspiration photo and study it for a while to determine the color I would be painting that archway. I always decide on what I want to be the focal point first. Is it the plants, the wall, the decor? Then pick the paint color accordingly.
You’ve made your home so lovely and very comfy, and your decorating ideas are a level above most of us. There are many ideas I could take from your style, if only I had your talent. Until next time!
I would like to put my plants in my bookshelves which are very similar to yours. How do you provide adequate lighting for them to continue to grow? Goodness I love the warmth and character youve added to your home. Beautiful. You have lovely style
Good morning! I only had those plants there for a little while as they get next to no light on that wall. I would just recommend picking a "low light" plant and also maybe consider rotating them to different areas so they do get more light on occasion. There are also special light bulbs that help with plant growth that I am going to experiment with when I get my Garden Room completed and see if they help during the winter months. I hope that helps! Xoxoxo
That’s where my granddaughter lives. She is also an assistant principal at one of the grammar schools there she loves Charleston. We live there short while when we first got married after my husband graduated from college, but we got home sick and came back to Columbia, but she was well when she first was born in Charleston
Aww, thank you! I don't know what I would do without my fake eyelashes. I'm so used to wearing them that if I don't have them on, I feel like I look so tired and sad. 😆😂🤣
I did not realize that you are in Lexington! I live in Lexington not too far from Michelin 😊 I think the antique white will be a beautiful neutral for all the decor possibilities! Maybe paint the column and arch a light terracotta color and the trim a dark green. Can’t wait to see the final results!!
Well Hello, Joe!!! You know, a little kids room would be super cute in a Circus theme. 🎪 🤔 Glad you stopped by. Can't wait to catch up on your videos! This room is taking a loooooonnngg time to do. Lol. The hubby is doing great! He's a walking miracle. 💙🩵
@deberabaileyschroer1637 Thank you! I absolutely would stain them if they were real hardwoods. They are LVP! This brand did have a darker color that I loved and debated on getting. We felt it might darken the house too much because we don't get a lot of natural light in some of the rooms. I have a video on the options. These floors are so easy to clean and barely scratch. I drag stuff on them all the time. The color hides dirt, too! Which can be bad because I don't clean them as often as I should. 😆 I love your idea and 100% agree! Xoxoxo
Hey Painted Lady! LOL! Now I'm getting it. I wasn't so sure where you were going at first with the garden room theme but after seeing all your plants on the porch and your beautiful new finds I am totally seeing it. It's going to be so great to be able to pull a lot of your plants in for the winter and enjoy them. I'm thinking the neutral off white for the walls and a bit of grey with the antique for the columns and the fireplace, I'm thinking like a cement stone look, that is my choice. I know whatever you do will be beautiful! I cannot wait to see this pulled all together!
Well Hello Mary! This paint selection has been a doozie because of the lighting and brick casting a pinkish orange tint on anything I put on the wall! 😆 Bless it. Anyway, I think I have it figured out! I have been working hard on the room. We need to go shopping soon! Xoxoxo ❤️
OMG I see so much that I love in the shops that you find. I can’t imagine finding anything in Ohio. I have been to many places and have never seen anything like the things you find. Maybe one day. ❤
