Hey Johnny, I've recently just purchased some property out near moclips, large clearcut, and we are planning on building several domes there starting this winter..in the rain.. I will get in touch with you soon.
Love that deck layout plan. With just one panel. Block placement was an ease. Each piece pre made then all put in place. Awesome, I watched this video before and never noticed it.. great job with all the inconveniences of not having a shop. On top of a time crunch I love it.
It would help to insulate the ground. Specifically putting 2-6 inches of foam insulation 2-5 feet deep around the edges. The ground conducts out heat -- a surprisingly large amount of heat.
I would love to see a hempcrete dome! It supposedly needs 12” thickness for good insulation, but can be wider than the frame and encapsulate the frame. You need a way to secure it while it dries, that part might be tricky with dome shape 🤔
At 9:15 you mention that you should measure it to a 30 second. What do you mean by that? If it's 30 arcseconds in degrees, that's around 0.0083 degrees. Is that really the precision required?
Hi! I've just discovered your channel recently and I am amazed. I love all of the beautiful zomes and domes. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I don't have the equipment and the space for it right now but I can't wait to build one in the future.
Hey could you riddle me this starting absolutely brand new green pile of uncut Lumber and your plans how long would it take to build a dome I don't mean the sheathing I don't mean the weatherproofing I mean just the structure itself
Hey there! Love your Trillium Domes and your videos! You should put a link to your other channel on here because I do a search and all I find is the Johnny Depp trial. Take care! *hugz*
These videos are so helpful, thank you! Any advice on building these in the PNW? Thinking of additional considerations for insulating against the cold, rain, and general constant moisture. Thanks!
This is a wonderful idea!! Affordable. Keeps the water relatively clean. Secures the area and safeguards children from unwanted access. Ambient temperature is better regulated. Year-round pool use. As I said. A wonderful idea.
No, they actually used to be more expensive! Unfortunately they do take a ton of time and I support anyone who has questions along the way so I have to make some kind of money from it or I'd just have to stop completely.
@@jacquestube I think this is the video you're talking about but I've always sold the plans ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sl9fEp-27EM.htmlsi=50G1GQ0rHeTM7_KD
By the way apologies if it sounds like I'm being ungrateful I'm not I just have a shity memory and I guess when I went to the website I was surprised that there were plans for sale because I saw the video and it seemed like they were available for free @@trilliumdomes
Cool. Any idea what sort of wind speeds these dome designs can withstand? Am on the Oregon Coast and we can get some wicked bursts off the ocean, but would love to put up something like this. Hmm... 🤔
Towards the end, did you nail the wall into the base? How does that stay structural over time? It seems like not enough? Maybe the dome on top add the structural integrity?
Yes you fasten the wall to the floor system just like any other wood framed structure. You can use nails, hold down hardware, structural screws, etc. It makes for an extremely strong structure
