In the past 17 years my wife, Sherri and I have traveled extensively. We've visited over 90 countries on all seven continents. Our focus has been on rare and endangered animals. Along the way, we've also meet a lot of interesting people whose cultures could be considered rare and endangered. On this channel, you'll find travelogues of our many trips and travel tips based on our experiences on the road in exotic places.
But Slovenes have a history. My point is that many "foreign" rulers have been through what is now Slovenia and that is history and has shaped today's Slovenia. Just look at the architecture of Ljubljana.
cool video, there are a few map inaccuracies like istra not being part of Yugoslavia, but still nice seeing some talk about our history because we usually just get overlooked in world history
I paused at 23 seconds. And now I'm going to switch off. You lost me as a viewer as soon as you totally mispronounced Gougane Barra. You made no effort to find out how it should be pronounced.
I was over there over 10 years ago and I took the pony and cart, but I wanted to take the pony that they hired out but they were all hired by the time I finished my Irish coffee and stew at Lord Brandon’s cottage. Do they still hire ponies to ride through the gap?
@@dandsclark Thanks for your quick answer, when I was there, I was only one person, and I was added to the to group of the boat and so when I arrived at the cottage after my meal which I paid for, I could choose whether I wanted a horse and cart, hiking or a saddle horse to hire and I wanted to ride, but they’re all taken by the time I finished my second Irish coffee. :) It had been a very rainy cold day, but then it was sunny after I finished my Irish stew
Why the wolf keepers let aslo tourists in to the wolves and even the wolves seem like they already trust and are friendly to other people who are strangers for the wolves?
The wolves are habituated to humans but there are a lot of rules because they are still wild animals. Only one small group gets to visit each day. The visit is timed so that it is not around their feeding time. Everyone has to wear the same black snow suit and no hats are allowed. There are specific places that you can touch the wolves. When the wolves approach, you have to be on your knees. You can't hold your hand above their heads.
Sorry to tell you but your pronunciations are totally off. You need to get those right if you intend doing tour reviews on Ireland. I do know what I am talking about. I am Irish..live here from day I was born and adore my country.
10:57 The were not ‘fixated on death’. They loved life so much that they wanted to make sure they could access the after-death- life by means of proper burial.
Thanks for your comment. I agree that the ancient Egyptians wanted to prolong their life experience by extending it into an afterlife. We owe much of our understanding of life in ancient Egypt to the burial industry that left tombs and pyramids with beautiful paintings and carvings.
Dave, another great travelogue. I have always loved the pictures that you and Sherri take, I especially enjoy your history lessons. You put a lot of thought and research into your projects. Keep them coming, Bob
What is really amazing is that although only a small fraction of the wonders of ancient Egypt have survived and yet we are in awe of the of the magnitude and magnificence of their civilization. And we still don't know what technologies they used to build these monuments and artifacts.
Thanks for the very well made and informative series on ancient Egypt. A very nice reminder of my visit to the same sites several years ago. I look forward to viewing your various other series as well. Your efforts are much appreciated.
More Egyptian history - such awesome photography - the colors are so vivid - sorry about the graffiti - I suppose all generations want to leave their mark 😢
I had the pleasure of visiting a lot of these places in 2014. There's a lot to see in that country if you are into antiquities and there is still a lot of archeological digs going on there. I hope to make it back to that part of the world in the next couple of years.
Dave, Nancy and I just finished watching your great video. You look good on the big screen. Yes, Africa has changed. We first went to Kenya in 1995. We used to laugh about the number of flat tires we had on a daily basis. Anyway, you and Sherri did a great job showing Africa then and now. And your right, Lewa Downs was a magical place, we both think it was the best preserve we have visited in all of Kenya, what a difference from the regular parks. Keep the videos coming. Safe travels, Bob & Nancy
Das ist ein wunderschönes Video ,ich war das letzte mal vor einem Jahr in Killarney Nationalpark . Habe jetzt so viel Sehnsucht nach diesem wunderschönen Ort . 💚☘
