It is obviously meant to be used for unit with a "on defeat" effect. Great card in that regard. I don't know why devs do not want to have such effects deal base damage though...unit only
I wonder why it says choose a base and not just heal your base. I wonder if there will be a future card that buffs you in some way if your opponents base was healed. Maybe useful in twin suns?
What's really interesting about this one to me is that it grants raid so it has great synergy with cards that ready low power units, ie Grand Inquisitor
Finally a good exploit card. This is how all exploit should be: reasonable for the price but not good, good if exploited 1, amazing if exploited 2 or more.
Turn 1 play any Separatist unit. Turn 2 play Now There Are Two of Them to play Multi-Troop Transport, Exploiting your Turn 1 play, resulting in a Turn 2 3/6 that generates Battle Droid tokens. Edit: Nvm, it only works for non-vehicles.
Battlefield marine and the clone you make with Rex don't cost the same. Battlefield marine costs 2 resources and a card. While the clone just costs you 2 resources. I also think that the game devs value a card more than a resource. See how every leader ability is a draw for a resource +something else.
I don't like exploit cause almost every exploit card is only good if you exploit to the fullest and abysmal if you don't. Too swingy and board dependant. Mechanically speaking i think they should be more balanced maybe a l'esser base cost but exploit only discount 1
Nice video! Regarding Obedient Vanguard, Tyler has confirmed On Defeat abilities of cards sacrificed to exploit are resolved after the card has entered play. So they can effect that card. Specifically, he called out sacrificing Motti to exploit out a unit can ready that unit. So sacrificing OV would allow you to buff the card being brought out. Helpful with sentinels or ambush units!
Anything that can be "Exploit"ed down to 3-cost is scary. Imagine playing two 1-drops on turn-1, your opponent doesn't remove one of them, and you play something like this on turn-2...
Nice breakdown as always. I like the clone cohort raid stat for Grand Inquisitor or Keep fighting shenanigans kinda like your old video about turn 3/4 Lethal Leia
Amazing leader. The only downside is his ability costing 2 will make it hard to trigger it on the First few turn if you are curving. You'll need to play a ton of 1 cost unit to use it
It should have like 6/6 and create 1 Battle droid only, but when played and when defeated and even on Attack. This is useless without exploiting 2 units and merely decent when doing so
@@mikejowan3340 yeah but exploit isn't free. if you sack 2 token for this, likely you won't have many other to play anithing bigger later for a while, unless you sack this very unit to generate 3 token, which would be very bad. i don't know, many of these exploit cards feels on the weak side for me
I enjoy your list! I do think you are sleeping on a few of the green leaders. Leia is definitely stagnant but suspect has an edge over half those B tier leaders. Thats really more a testament to the strength of the rebel synergies, and Sabine is much better, but right now she is still quite good. Palpatine. Palpatine is A tier and I think we are seeing him place quite well at tournaments. Draw in aggro and midrange is quite weak as you mentioned but it does well with ramp/control. Ultimately, we've also seen enough of set 3 to see how Palpatine is likely to take off next set. Anyway, couldn't resist sharing my 2cents, thanks for the video!
Thanks for the input! Recent results have made me more positive on Palpatine as a whole and if I were making this list today I would probably put him in A tier, though I do think he has notable weaknesses.
Dont dont the jedi starfighters have the jedi tag too? Cuz if the do I feel like this card will be way more valuable. I think it's already pretty strong, but adding sentianl to a space unit or two along with a ground unit or two will totally change the game.
My thought for this immediately was Timely intervention. Imagine for 8 you kill something with ambush that has a shield cuz saboteur. Or just bypass a sentinel. Then literally bounce 2 cards cuz you get the when played and on attack. For 8 you get a 5/7 Sab, kill 1, bounce 2 That’s a big board swing
Yeah, this absolutely sucks. My guess is back when they designed this (I know you do, but some people don't know sets are designed years in advance for TCGs) they still hadn't realized just how bad card draw is in this system compared to others from other games.
Man this will help against those long grindy games because you will akways have a unit available if you built it right so it spits out a 2/2 every turn
I’m very optimistic about double-green Rex. The token generation with cards like Manufactured Soldiers and Shaak Ti, then the buff effects from Commander Cody and Admiral Yularen… along with some strong hitters like Aayla Secura and Home One… I can’t wait to try it.
I really like this card, especially with a Kylo buff. Your opponent might have to trade into it and you win in terms of cost most likely. Of course it’s vulnerable to ping
