In this video, I discuss data from a large league that was played over the month of May, a bunch of compiled Store Showdown results, and a large dataset of games! I talk about what's doing well in each of these sources and what things look like in the meta as a whole. What do you think?

One thing I think is interesting about this particular period of time is that this data is at least partially warped by the availability of cards. If we had this meta with more availability (and also perhaps more affordability-hard to convince a lot of people to buy in set 1 with such expensive cards) then I think we'd see at least some minor differences. As for more development, I can only imagine there is a lot more this meta could develop over time. With such new mechanics and gameplay, it's hard to imagine that everyone has gotten everything right already, even with such play numbers.

Would have loved to hear more about what the implications of the data are for someone headed to a tournament or brewing their own decks, but that might be a separate video

im heading to my store showdown this coming saturday. I'm quite excited. I need to look into the boba yellow counter. I've had a rough time against that on Karabast but i didn't know it was such a major deck type until now.

Its interesting to me how many people online are playing decks like vader blue or iden green and trying to troll and make you deck out. I trust your results a lot more in terms of real decks one might encounter.

We need more than one league to be telling. Yes, I understand that this meta information be helpful locally but overall doesn't reflect well if the density is high for player turnout and the skill gap is much higher with the decks being played. A good pilot will with meiocre deck can beat a great deck with a mediocre pilot. Do you have any other tourney/meta reports for this?

I am a bit skeptical for set 2. Of course I cannot wait for it to release, but if a lot of cards of set 1 are still relevant, the entry for new players will be harder as we need to wait till December for the reprint of set 1! Hopefully I'm wrong and you can build strong decks with less expensive cards. Fingers crossed 🤞

It’s funny to me that iden has such a low win rate because I ran her at my last local tournament and 4-0 and nobody seemed happy that I was running that deck

Likewise, my Iden deck works well against everything but Leia Red.

@@pwalmsley9 I actually played against a Leia red at this event and won it was just a really hard game which I knew it would be because they had just stomped an iden blue before me. I definitely think trying to use vigilance as many times as possible and then just vanquishing units with it is what made the difference. It was definitely a slow game where I basically just eventually snowballed off tempo because I could just do so much more in a turn then they could
