Emirates Team New Zealand (or ETNZ) are four-time winners and Defenders of the 37th America's Cup. the team is based in Auckland, New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
ETNZ. GUYS. NEED A REAL FASTER BOAT IN ANY CONDITIONS. LUNA ROSSA & GBR INEOS ARE A FASTER BOAT. THE ONLY AIM FOR THOSE TWO BOAT IS TOO BEAT THE ETNZ BOAT...I HOPE YOU HAVE ALREADY PPREPARE WELL FOR THE FINAL. GOD BLESS GUYS FOR THE FINAL.🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍♥️💛💚💙🌿🌿🌿🖐️🖐️🖐️
What an absolute dogs breakfast this NZ team is. One of the first youth teams to get into an AC40 and they can’t even sail the f£$king thing around a race course, which everyone else is doing. A shit show of a team who don’t even know how to trim a god dam main, let alone two sails.
I’ve lost respect for this team since they moved the cup away from NZ. Similar to when Russel Coutts and co switched to Switzerland. No mana for this organisation and co, I’m sorry. Luna Rosa deserved to win this time, as Italy has been supporting TNZ for many years. Thanks to the great man Matteo DeNora for your support, and also the NZ taxpayers.
Atrocious sailing from ETNZ, all over the place. Poor trimming, mistakes after mistakes from a team who (could be mistaken) were the first youth team to get their hands on an AC40. Can’t blame the conditions because they were all on the same course. Gunn & Have trimming obvious out of their league. Have probably never trimmed a sail in her life apart from a wind foiler.
Figure out where you are going wrong ...yes, maybe aim a little higher like Prada does .... you have similar speed but seem to sail a flatter course losing meters each tack. Not that I know anything about sailing
Etnz has foil components not yet on Taihoro. She is not fully optimized deliberately and mistakes add to a learning curve which they have time to climb. In one race she hit 50.4 knots and passed LR & AM Don't forget who invented the AC75 class
Mozzy Sails reckons ETNZ can't trim their sails properly, when they started against Luna Rossa and splashed down its because ETNZ have a poorly designed boat and can't pump enough oil for their main sheet and gib systems.
The racing would benefit from a change so that if a boat drops off the foils prior to the start the start time is reset back to 2 minutes once the floundering boat is back on foils. It ruins the race otherwise
Kinda agree but I think there would to much of point of manipulation of deliberate " mistakes " . If it were to happen in the last 20 seconds or so it's still game on usual start time any time before that perhaps .
Congratulations to Team NZ😍 u having a new kuini Ngā Wai hono i te pō for all kiwis and Maoris.... At funeral this waka where great paddling on Waikato. In Barcelona the Waka i then love to see supporting you. Best wishes to team to developing with spirit of Aotearoa where kiwis get to fix and developing on farms, garages and living.... then kiwis long not hade quickly an garage where fix immediately and do it selves. ETNZ of course perfections sail trimming, handling canting and foils... Again congratulations to new kuini and condolence to lost father kingii.
Congratulations team NZ Aotearoa U lost a great kingi U have a new kinii - she of course unite kiwis further... She support Taihoro of course and taihoro is stabile on sea like Waka on Waikato river.... Aotearoa is united and all be kiwis togheter
Firstly, this race was on verge of regularity due to wind direction changes. Secondly, the prestart maneuver was not done without mistakes, so a good analysis and preparation can be helpful to prevent things like this from happening again. And in the end, ETNZ has two victories and LR one in the head-to-head matches.
So has Mozzy found their week spot? Oil. Can teams now engage super early and super aggressively with ETNZ to blow their oil, dump them in the water and sail off.
People should calm down, i guess the trash talk can be done after the competition is over. I cheer Luna Rossa and it was a treat seeing them beating the kiwis in that fashion, but the road ahead is long and the kiwis have the rules on their side.
It wasn't cut that short. The Kiwis were well beaten. That is what you get for falling off the foils at the start & gifting the start by a big margin to the opposition. They sailed an era free race & just kept on extending their lead. Well sailed Luna Rossa.
As a New Zealander i thought the commentary and the broadcast was crap and some what biased once we screwed up. I have neither seen nor heard very little reaction or commentary to the fact we bombed the start then fell of the foils and lost the race. We never looked like coming back the race was over before it begun from that blunder and the lead just grew. that is one of the reasons i hate this kind of yachting. Once you screw up like TNZ did their is usually no chance to catch up as the speed of these boats ends the race really quickly. Give me sails and tacking jewels like the old days which was much more exciting than these giant drag boats. Their seems to be a lack of concern or coverage about their blunder from TNZ or the media and i would not be surprised if things were to go down hill from here they will start blaming the boat being dropped as a potential reason if it goes south on TNZ.
Team Nz are just practicing so why risk a lightening strike injuries and damaging a superb boat for nothing? Etnz don’t need the points here.I’m fully behind them, they have more grey matter up top😄
