Amie you need to understand the Spike character. 1) he is a vampire. 2) he LOVES Buffy. 3) Although they had sex many times She pushed him away. And most importantly 4) he Always, ALWays, ALWAYS is there when se needs him. He also always tells the full truth.

Hello! I’m new to the channel! I just subbed because I love music and thought this video was fun! I’m a huge DC and MCU fan and I’m actually currently watching the whole Flash series and I’m in love with this episode so with that being said I will fill you in a little bit!! They are there because someone I guess as they say whammied to another world and they made it because of their love for musicals so now they have to finish the script to be able to go back home so the first song was to kind of give them an idea of what’s going on. In the next song since Barry isn’t a singer in the show, he’s kinda clueless so now he’s just saying random stuff. It’s super friend because they are both super hero’s and to answer your question yes the girl is super girl and that’s why they were talking about superman(her cousin). She said in the song that if he messes up he can go back in time and give it another shot because of how fast he is he can run to the future or the past but he’s no allowed to do that anymore because it messed up the time line and he created something called flash point. Anyways, he is not dating supergirl he is dating iris and his parents died when he was young so he’s know,live with, and love her since he was like 11. He proposed once but he did it to change the future, but then her brother (kid flash) told her that’s why(Barry still loved her) but then she broke off the engagement but now he proposed again but with the song! I thought it was beautiful and they have a great relationship and I just love this episode so much! It’s amazing and beautiful and I genuinely thought I was the only one who loved or thought it was cute when superhero’s sing!!❤😊❤😊
Omg I love it that you hated Spike!!! Everybody loves the Buffy/Spike thing and whereas I do enjoy Spike tremendously, I hate the paring. Also it's refreshing to have someone hate Spike haha.
You should do Back to the Future the musical. It's One mini awards like best new musical of 2022 best character Rodger Bart who plays Doc Brown. Best sound design best effects and more....
Bro, the show is great. You'd love the show and I think you'd love the real personalities of the actors who play Turk and J.D. They have a rewatch podcast. They just finished watching the 9th and final season of Scrubs for the first time and Zach (J.D.) always uses that psa The More You Know jingle quite often. It's no coincidence you used it in your reaction. It's obvious Scrubs humor is for you 🤙🏽
Watching this episode out of context you're missing so much. I know this video is three years old, but I have to say, I'm kinda frustrated with Amie's assessment of the characterization and story line since plucking this out of the stream of the multiple story arcs you miss so much: why Tara has to leave Willow, how significant it is that Anya and Xander never tell each other what their fears are, and really importantly, what it was, what had happened to Buffy, that has pushed her into Spike's arms, and the {{SPOILER ALERT}}} epic redemption arc he later goes through. But yeah, the music is fantastic. Given that most of the cast did NOT want to do a musical but knuckled down and threw themselves into it only adds to the amazingness. Now I have to go watch that episode. Again. 😉
Shortly after starting work on the episode, Reyes injured herself at home, breaking her hip and requiring surgery. Unfortunately, Carla's biggest scene in the episode still needed to be filmed - the song "For the Last Time, I'm Dominican" - and it required Reyes to dance the tango. Despite the Scrubs scene being imaginary, it wasn't changed, and Reyes had to film the dance scene while recovering from her broken hip. According to Judy Reyes, Scrubs' team was both incredibly supportive and insistent that she be able to film the scene, and they rearranged schedules to accommodate her surgery and recovery. Reyes said she was "thrilled" and "couldn't wait" to film the scene, but dancing the tango after a serious hip injury is certainly less than ideal. However, thanks to Reyes' positive attitude and Scrubs' willingness to accommodate for her recovery, the scene is an excellent part of "My Musical", thanks in part to Reyes' dancing.
3yrs later and I truly hope you rewatched this with context. The horrible dance at the end and the toxic-ish ramen noodle head relationship (and why we all loved him regardless.) If you did rewatch it, please let me know! ♡♡♡
I realize you posted this three years ago. Your reaction seems to be mostly to the tunes and format. You asked questions and made statements. That would have be easier to understand if you had actually listened to the words of the songs.
She goes off key on purpose because she was pulled from heaven. It's a shift in moods. While it's not audibly pretty, it helps to tell the story of being ripped out of heaven and plunged into the hell of her current reality.
I know I'm a wee bit late with this comment but, in the pilot episode, Nicholas Gonzalez played Dan, which is why Trixie looks nothing like either of her parents - just saying!
Alot of people feel zelenas song had a weird tone. I always took it as a victorious tone given the context of the song beleive that she finally has her chance to win
The bar in my option is set by Xena which was the first Show that had a musical episode or two. It is also the first show which had characters that are bi-sexuell/ lesbian but since they couldn't show it (1995-2001)they wrap it pretty well and everyone knew that they are attracted to each other. Also "Xena: Warrior Princess" has been referred since than as a pop cultural phenomenon and feminist and lesbian icon.
Writing this just after you said you’ve never watched Buffy before. I cannot imagine you getting 1/100th the meaning and depth of this episode without any background first. I’ll come back after, but I really feel sorry for you watching this as a total newbie. Should be interesting… After. You enjoyed it more than I thought you would.

The villain (Darren Criss) is the only one they hired for this episode, The rest of the people singing are just the cast from the show’s (The Flash) (Supergirl) (Arrow) (Legends Of Tomorrow) they just released half of our cast are from Glee or Broadway or something like that.
