im very interested with lumix s9 ! seeing u trying it out give me a good impression about it. What do you think is better s9 + sigma lend 18 - 50mm or s9 + lumix lens 20 - 60mm help me pls 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I use the Sigma 18-35 as a ff on my A7iii between 28-35mm. I was wondering if one can hack the s5xII to get it to treat the sigma 18-35 as a FF lens as on the SH1 in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yTFfx4Ht0qk.html&pp=ygUYbHVtaXggczVpaXggc2lnbWEgMTgtMzUg . If it works I am giving some serious thought to buying the S5iix and the mc-21 sigma adaptor. If you could be so kind as to try it out and let us know how it goes I would be so grateful!
Okay real talk, Smallrig AD-50 vs the Manfrotto. I’ve used that Manfrotto for work, and was my first choice for getting one for myself. I hear good things about the small rigs, but even though they are said to be light, they still look huge, and the twists look inconvenient.
@@AlexDiazVideo I really like my ol' reliable Manfrotto, it's definitely a little heavier, but it's been serving me well. The SmallRig is great, but much bigger!
Really , you have to use a crop lens for 4K 60fps? Thinking about buying this camera. Coming from the X-H2S from Fuji so the crop is something I’m used to. But I wouldn’t think you should have to use a crop lens for video in 4K or ProRes.
Advanced Transport Canada Drone Pilot here, the drone shot at 5:49 is illegal. You are flying around Parliament, which is Class F airspace. The only legal way to fly around Parliament is with an SFOC. It doesn't matter if your drone is below 250 grams, still illegal. You should take this down so you dont get a $5,000 fine from Transport Canada 😮 nice video 👍
Upon further research: Drone pilots must have a Special Flight Operations Certificate to fly near or over advertised events, such as outdoor concerts, parades, and sporting events. Which was not the case here. And The airspace over Parliament Hill is a no-fly zone. Recreational drones are strictly prohibited. Parliament Hill and the area within a 0.75-mile radius belong to a restricted airspace (CYR537). I was not at parliament hill and I was certainly a safe distance from it. So I would have been fine, and also the DJI app wouldn't have let me take off if it was restricted in the area I was in.
Awesome video Jeremy! I like that your gear isn't just about simplicity but about efficiency. Neewer often gets a bad rap for being cheap within the pro market but a Neewer stand is so much lighter than a c-stand is to carry. I'm in the hybrid shooting space so I'm definitely taking notes from you, ESPECIALLY connecting your zoom recorder to your DJI mic. I'm borrowing that idea big time!
@@deuay3143 I'm not a huge tripod consumer but I like my AD-50 it works for me, the lock and twist is something you get the handle of pretty quickly as well.
Love the lumix content mate! The colors also look great on the A Cam! Since Japan getting the S9 it has been such a nice gimbal cam for how small it is. Plus it is unlikely that people will rig that camera up so it forces people to keep the Lumix S9 small and compact. Great video though mate!
Agreed, I was trying to rig it up just for fun, but I discovered the most fun part of that camera is just how freeing it is to use with nothing except a lens on it, while also getting a stellar image.
Any issues with record limits using the S9 during a ceremony or speeches? I have thought about adding it to my wedding setup but I know I can't just set it up and let it roll the way I can with the S5ii.
@@CivisCreativeFilms The record time on the S9 is 15 minutes (I did actually bring this up and then ended up cutting it from the video.) But I still use it during the ceremony and speeches and I'll just simply stop and restart the recording. Depending on how you see it, this can be annoying, but I'm cool with doing the extra work.
@@jeremybfilms Thanks! That makes sense. For some reason I never thought about making it the camera I was using as my handheld during the ceremony. Maybe I can justify buying one after all....
fun fact, that 50mm anamorphic gives you a shot as wide as a spherical 35mm, or actually around a 31mm to be precise, because of the 1.6x compression. The 35mm is actually around a 21mm. That's why all the shots look so wide and the distortion is so extreme.
@@CivisCreativeFilms 78% is the natural 30fps slow down on a 24fps timeline, with minimal motion a 68% slow down with optical flow looks good still, but once you starting going lower it starts to look funky, especially if the shot has lots of motion.
As a working professional, a lot of times having affordable equipment that gets the job done and not overspending on the newest equipment can get you through the slow seasons that come with freelance work.
My camera is a Sony A6300 which was a powerhouse when it came out even with the overheating, but I work with the BMPC4/6K's daily. The ability to work quickly, have all the options dead set in front of you, and the raw capture makes using the BMPC a no brainer. I was a Sony fanboy, even apologizing for it's crappy UI. Not anymore. Our BMPC pays our bills and time is money. Setting in field is easier, coloring is easier, and while Sony charges me to use the timelapse function in my Alpha, Blackmagic is STILL pushing out updates to this thing for free. BMPC for life. Sorry Sony, its not me, it's you.
Thank you very much for this awesome Video. I am on the jump to get a blue S9 to have something small and pocketable along my S5II. Can you tell me what I loose with the Sigma 18-50 lens on Fullframe since its designed for APS-C? Talking especially about stills but also Video. Will the Images be with less Megapixels or cropped? Thanks a lot in advance🙂
The S9 could have been a fantastic camera if it had an EVF, a flash shoe, and better controls, such as a joystick. Using an APSC lens kind of defeats the purpose of full-frame. Maybe Lumix can come out with more compact lenses for the S9. Bottom line: No matter how hard the RU-vidrs try to push the S9, it feels incomplete.
I agree to certain degree with you. The lack of EVF even as a rangefinder style would have been nice. But all the other things, that’s not what this camera is about. The camera is specifically for content creators that want great features, but in a compact package. I believe that the 18-40mm will be a great addition once it launches. I wish it would’ve launched with the camera.
I dont need any of those things you mentioned. S9 is good as is. Not all cameras have to be for you. No one complains about several sonys not having an evf or joystick
Lumix Academy has a couple of vids about how and when certain preset AF options should be chosen. They are 3 yrs old but the firmware update didn't change those selections.
@@lashesfordaze It autofocuses with the S9, Mkiix and Mkii. I'm not sure if crop mode reduces megapixels, it looks no different to the full frame image imo!
