This camera has been game changing to me and my business. Have you got your hand on one, what do you think of it? Let me know! Instagram: jeremypbaxter Business Inquiries: jeremypbaxter.myportfolio.com
Yo! It's surreal reading your comment. I picked up Cine Print 1 and it's totally transformed my grading. You've definitely helped me understand Lumix and fully get on board with the brand 🙌🏻
@@JoshCameron you're on Final Cut right? I was a premiere pro head for 8 years before jumping ship last year and it's taken time to adjust. But it's definitely worth it. I started with just smaller projects and then worked my way up to weddings and docs. Now it's just part of the workflow. Ps, I need to pick your brain about content and scripting 😎
I wasnt 100% concentrating on the video, until you said Sigma 35mm & showed the AF! I have that lens for my S5 ... i'm blown away seeing AF actually working on that lens!
I forgot to mention it, I always LOVED this lens, but never was able to use it the way I wanted to, now it never leaves my camera for my content! Again, that ALONE was worth it
Everything you said about how this camera makes you feel I 100% agree with. I’ve owned it for about a month now making the transition from canon and my biggest gripe is also that I I don’t make the move sooner!
@@jeremybfilms Yes! I definitely had that happen to me with canon several times due to its overheating issues and lack of setting customization. The LUMIX gave me the confidence to take on any job with confidence due to its versatility and plethora of features.
Oh yeah... buying gear in Canada is a special form of self-inflicted punishment (hence your price tag!). Bought my S5ii used... and, you know, sweated a little bit until it prooved its good health. Love the Mark ii... love the recent update. (BTW, sweet edit)
Hey Jeremy just subscribed, and I watched the video like 3 times, I just came across your channel a few days ago, and I went and got the lumix s5 ii, my first camera ever, you inspired me, this video right there is what I want mines to look like when I start making videos, I don’t know anything about color grading but this right here is perfect to me, if you have a lut you’re using i would love for you to share that with me, or make one and share it with me that would mean a lot, and please make a video about your color grading process I think people would love that, and lastly I’m gonna follow your footsteps, I know you use cine 1 also a video about your settings would be appreciated because I know nothing about camera just tired and want to try something new, a newbie to this and following you I know I’ll be good one day too, so from now on you’re my inspiration and imma let the whole internet know that, thanks a lot 🙏
Thanks for watching the video and the kind words, truly appreciated! I used FilmVision By Serr's powergrade for this video, with lots of tinkering. I will absolutely make a colour breakdown after my next video. I love colourgrading and if I can spread the wealth of knowledge, I'll do just that!
Thank you for this video. I literally have been on the edge on whether I should buy this or get a a7iv or just wait for something else. I’m upgrading from the zve10 and I only have 1 lens so getting into a new ecosystem isn’t really a problem for me especially with the bundles the bh has which leads me to this question. I’m looking to buy an s5iix and I can’t decide which bundle. I would mainly be using it for my tech RU-vid channel. The options are the s5iix with the 20-60 and the 50mm for 2200 or get the body only with the 24, 35, and 50 for 2400? what would be the best option.. price is not a concern. Please help
I'm not an expert on Sony, but a quick search shows that combo for the A7iv is about USD $3,896.00. So you'd be saving a boat load with the Lumix bundle, I don't own the 20-60 but I know that people who do, really like it. I'd say that's a great starting point especially for content creation. Over time you'll build up that lens collection (trust me lol). With that money you save, pick up a mic as well and you'd be set. OR stick with sony if that's what you're comfortable with!
@@jeremybfilms definitely switching. I have a full setup for it in terms of audio and lighting. Just want a new camera! I appreciate you getting back to me
But if bring honest . I bought my mk1 for cheap and they gave me two lenses . Kits and 50 1.8 and for less than the price of the mk2 body when it came out. If I waited it would take longer for me to start since it was my first camera. Now I'm thinking if I wait for the S1 mk2/S2 or just fo for the s5iix
35mm is the ultimate all round prime - especially when its that fast. I do wish the trend of holding the mic would go away. Either hide it or use a handheld. Remember back in 2018 when everyone had out of focus fairy lights strung out behind them to accentuate bokeh- the hand held mic is going to date as well as that. I am a S5 manual focus dude - and actually do use auto focus on it a little bit - so this was an interesting perspective to see - Many people say that the video quality on the S5 is actually very slightly superior - thanks for making the video.
35 mm is by far the best focal length for most projects. I move my hands a lot, especially if I'm not holding something. I'll bring a lav next time thanks for the feedback! Oh man, yeah absolutely the S5 is still perfect for most cases, I do a LOT of content with the Ronin as my clients prefer that look. So something with reliable autofocus was a no brainer after fighting with the S5 for too long.
Canadian dollars is much more inflated than US + 13% tax. I also bought a pro mist and that was in with the receipt. I definitely should've just waited till a sale. But there's no regrets
@@autumn2447 I checked B&H before pulling the trigger. Also that protection plan for $400. But you get a full replacement if broken, and bi monthly sensor cleaning.
Damn it failed on autofocus 😂 Return that bad boy for a Sony A7S III. You will never worry about autofocus again and be able to create content with out the worry.
real filmmakers dont need AF ;) haha i guess it depends on the user and what they need the camera for, if you start rigging especially sony guys picking up cine lens have NO idea how to rack focus lol, we old panny users had to learn it from beginning
@@heynow2880 same here I had the gh4 and gh5 was one of the best ibis in the market, autofocus isn’t so bad, on it. Most of the videos in the channel is filmed with it. But I use the S5iix now and the gh6
