It's fantastic that you managed to avoid the hurricane, and it's even more wonderful, as a cruiser, that you're not in Grenada right now. They need all the resources they can get, and while cruisers might think they're helping, they're really not-unless, of course, you're a doctor. But hey, I'm thrilled you're both having a great time in Trinidad.
He daar luitjes,, halverwege de deksel op de pan voor de bovenkant heet te laten worden,en de laatste paar minuten de deksel eraf om het vocht eruit te verdampen. Na een beetje experimenteren moet het lukken. Jullie maken leuke filmpjes...grt Piet 👍👍👍
After watching your you tube I bought a sail boat. It Sank ! I watched your video again , bought a sailboat it saink. I#, now on my 8th Sailboat , they keep sailing and YOUR TO BLAME !!!
H&D - Good to see the reunite happened fairly easily after all, and that the worst you got from the storm was getting bounced around a bit. Keep up the great work, stay honest, and keep smiling! There are good things in your future!!! Peace! :D
To me the night sailing seems so cool but also scary depending on the weather and traffic. But in calm sea and traffic very cool. Also a fantastic adventure. Cheers ⛵🍻
You say you are still learning but yet you are smarter than all of those people that stayed in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Carriacou and Grenada. You did the RIGHT thing. Get out of there to almost guaranteed safety………TRINIDAD. I love Trinidad anyway. Sorry for all the the immigration problems. I made this trip both ways at least a dozen times. Also sailed to Colombia, loved Cartagena! Wonderful people. You should talk to UMA and Zatara. They have a lot of experience in this issue.
The way around this problem is to buy a fully refundable ticket out of the country to show immigration when you arrive. Then just cancel it and get a refund once you are safely onboard the boat.
Trinidad Immigration is the pits, many many cruisers avoid Trinidad because the officials are just plain childishly bossy , like "I'm in a uniform, you are my subject, and I will make your life hell, because I don't care and I am the boss of you!" They have not realized yet that yachties are part of the foreign exchange Trinidad really needs, ironically, to pay their immigration officers!! I am not sure why they can't fix this.
Huub reference your rolling in anchorages.... Did you not see my lengthy comment on making flopper stoppers to hang from your main boom and jib boom. This would make your life in a rolly anchorage so much more comfortable. If you missed my comment I'm happy to repeat. They are so simple to make. David
I think, if I recall correctly, Daniela was crew on board SV Freedom aka "Sailing into Freedom"! Hence, she already has some sailing experience, which should put her in good stead!
Tighten lifelines around the deck? Put the Highfield on davits instead of having it flopping against hull and chainplates. Enjoy life with a caring partner. Glad you survived officialdom - Daniella's smile would help.
Hi Huub I am so very happy that Daniela is back on the boat with you . I am looking for a lady to come sailing with me. I have just bought a 42ft sailing boat. I am in Australia. Go to pick up my boat on Wednesday 10th July. Daniela have you got a older sister who is single? How would like to come sailing with me .
