Hello I'm Mr. Slunky Pics and I enjoy cars, and video editing, so I decided to make videos. The videos are almost always on cars and vehicle related topics.
I am the the survivor. I see my Gem is a she was when I left her. Tears in my eyes. I built her in the 80s 1st place of many shows and nominated to attend Las Vegas show of the year. Excalibur has risen again. Cheers Kevin Landry. Be glad to share more stories and details. Does anyone know how I can contact the new owner?
Hey! Welcome to the adventure! It hasn’t had an update in about a year, but I’ve been busy with other stuff that it hasn’t changed much. If you want to see it now you can check out the newest video on it here! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h4V4_jTgO-I.html
That "permanent fixture van" I remember when it was hauled in on the back of a pick up back in Vantopia 3 I think. 7:53 I Can't Fucking Wait Till Tomorrow. 14:12 is my fat ass in a yellow hoodie from behind lol
Sadly I haven’t been able to try starting it on a cold day as I have been busy with school. But rest assured that when I do I will try my best to mention it in a video!
neat 78. I dont see some of the street van specific things, but parts might have been taken off or the sv emblems added- obviously a bunch of things were changed over the years. On the firewall near the brake booster, there should be a metal plate with YH3 if it is an actual SV. Engine: on the block front just below the drivers side head 318 or 360 should be stamped. The stamping is sometimes light and covered in dirt, so mught be a bit hard to see. The block has a casting call out near the starter thats easier to see, but harder to get to.
Years ago you could open the hood on a car and see the ground on both sides of the engine. Now you can't even find the engine on a lot of new cars. It's hard to find classics like that with so much glass and chrome still in pretty good condition. Good luck with your resto!
Be really careful with the spoiler? How about your head? Please don't go under another vehicle without stands. Who's going to save these magnificent machines if you're not around? Many years ago my Dad bought a surplus Dodge Polara with the 440 Magnum engine that was a North Carolina highway patrol interceptor. Starting your van reminded me of it and all the old Dodge/Plymouth engines that the starters made the same sound. Looking forward to seeing your progress - and NEVER seeing you under a lifted vehicle without stands again! Seeing that could give an old guy like me a heart attack...
Enjoyed your video! It's great that someone your age sees the worth in an old van and has the emerging talent and desire to restore them. I've had my 1983 E-100 Shorty van since I bought it new. Before that I had an older car and truck that I worked on all the time. If you do a search on RU-vid for "Arnies Sweet Spot Van", you should find two videos of mine. Keep up the good work!
