Any city or town near Boise, Eagle , Meridain, Star, Middleton, Nampa Caldwell, are going to be way overpriced, overpopulated for the existing infrastructure, leading to traffic gridlock, and now you are seeing miles of ugly apartment buildings . Nothing like living on top of one another.
Pretty sure Linder Farms closed down over a year ago (2023?) Maybe you were thinking of the Farmstead? They used to be in Meridian but moved sites to Kuna a couple years ago.
2:15 Boise (B tier) 4:45 Garden City (C tier) 6:42 Meridian (A tier) 10:42 Eagle (A tier) 13:45 Kuna (B tier) 16:25 Star (C tier) 19:20 Middleton (B tier) 22:35 Nampa (B tier) 25:28 Caldwell (C tier) Note: OP ranks these cities within their tiers as well and this video is rather nuanced. That said, hopefully this saves someone some time. OP, thanks for all of the effort on this video. It's well done and has a ton of great info.
I moved into Star three years ago, moving from Minnesota. The plus is the demographics...much better quality of people, at least when compared to the Twin Cities area of MN. The downside is the ridiculous costs of housing...roughly three times as much as in Minnesota and that is without basements. The quality of homes being built in Star sucks! I mean the greedy builders are throwing sticks up with rapid and cheep construction methods. The traffic is insane. My brother lives in Sacramento and when he comes in to visit he constantly complains about how bad traffic is in Star compared to Sacramento. Gas prices are much higher here than in Minnesota. California liberal minded people are moving here in mass and brining their liberal b.s. thinking with them. The mayor of Boise is a lib female who is appointing lib judges. A close law enforcement buddy of mine keeps me informed as to the rising crime here. There are Mexican cartel gangs just south of Star. They are breaking into vehicles looking for guns, constantly as they know most Idaho residents keep a gun in their vehicles and are too lazy to take them into their homes at night. I spent forty four years of my life in the emergency and investigative fields of work. I was surprised to learn of the growing crime issues. Nothing like the Twin City area of Minnesota, but if liberal ways take over conservative values here as well, then the crime issues will increase. Food costs are high here as well. And from personal experiences here, the medical help is way below the quality that exists in Minnesota...trust me on that one. Summers can be crazy hot...but dry. Few or no mosquito problems. Lots of flies. Driving from Boise area to the beautiful areas of Ketchum takes about three and a-half hours. Great area but more expensive than the Boise area. Would I recommend moving into Star? No. I have a relative that lives in Eagle. Nice area, but again, premium costs for housing. The one thing I have noticed as far as restaurants, in particular newer ones, is that the food and service is consistently inconsistent. Coffee shops around here do not know what the word "atmosphere" means. Boring. The great thing about Idaho right now is that it is a conservative states with open and concealed carry laws protecting the citizen's second Amendment rights.
Cheese and rice. If you don't have taste but have a ton of money, this town is perfect for you. You can't preserve nature and wipe out giant swaths of it to build cookie cutter energy hungry, water intensively landscaped mcmansions at the same time.
Thanks for your great work on these videos, it was so helpful for us ones we started looking for our new home in Idaho. Super excited to call Star our home. We started build with Toll brothers at Cresta del sol, we love it out there, the mountain view and hiking trails with good close elementary school, was priority. LOVE BOISE ❤️
City planning is good. Putting a balance of business and homes. ACHD is a county district that maintains roads. It is overwhelmed in all cities in the area. It doesn’t coordinate well with valley growth.
I bought a home in Nampa in zip code 83687 and am shocked at how high the property tax is for a $450,000 home at $300 per month! And I am from California. Very disappointing.
Don't live in Boise. Their leadership went insane and tyrannical during covid. Boise tried to shut down restaurants in Kuna and Meridian. GTFO Lib Boise.
Idaho libertarians: "It's a free country. If I can afford it, I should be able to buy it." Also Idaho libertarians: "Stop moving here with your money and driving up our property costs. It's not fair 😭". 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡
When you’re punished because some idiots ruin the place they originally lived in and moved where they don’t have the infrastructure to support the influx. Naturally you’re gonna have people upset. Just be grateful it’s the 21st century few century’s ago it be war between them.
