We have a Grand Design Reflection 5th Wheel and Ram 3500 Diesel
I am terribly scared of heights but I did the bridge walk and was a little nervous. I did enjoy it, despite being a little uncomfortable. My big fear of heights is, I don’t trust who ever built something man made and I’m up high, and it may come apart or break,( but a few things I will trust, such as that bridge, I know it is solid built) and I don’t try getting near a cliff edge due to landslide or the area has quakes. Great video!
Shelly Kaye you are the bravest damn girl I know!!! No way I would do that. I was getting butterflies just watching it!! We have to visit that park if it's dog friendly. Were used to NP's that have little or no dog friendly hikes. I'm with you Shelly, STAY IN THE CENTER!!!! Great segment on the mine. I couldn't imagine having to work in that!
Thank you! It wasn’t easy! New River is a beautiful place! So many beautiful places in this great country of ours! Looking forward to hanging out with you guys this weekend!
Oh my gosh Shelly no way I could have done that bridge but ai have also been forcing myself to do a lot more so I know i would want to force myself but men i dont think so. Great job. That was a nice little hike to a beautiful view. That coal mine was interesting clostrophobic but cool! 😊 Good to see u its fun getting those stamps done!
Thank you! We try to stretch our selves when we can. Well I do anyway - Mike has no fear. lol. It is fun collecting the NP stamps. Wish I would have have gotten the book sooner - we have been to several parks before we got it. Hope you did some video on your cruise! We need to plan a virtual happy hour soon- miss you guys!
I knew you could do it, Shelley!! Great video but watching it still makes my stomach drop with ill. 🤢 lol. That was a great weekend! Glad we were able to do it with you guys! What you thinking for next year?🤔
Thank you! So glad we got to take this trip together- it was a lot of fun! We are thinking maybe Minnesota/ Wisconsin next summer. Thoughts? We are open to anything. We may do the gulf shore end of March too but I think you’ve done that one. We still need Shenandoah NP too!
Glad I could watch you cross the Gorge, because I will NOT be doing that! Great job you Shelley overcoming your fear! You guys packed a lot of experiences in! - Michelle
I would like to say if I can do it anyone can, but I also know everyone has their own limitations of what they can handle so if this isn’t your thing and you can live through me - I am happy to help! Thanks for your support as always! Safe travels! -
great video, thanks for sharing... I've been over that bridge hundreds of times and didn't know they had tours to walk across it. Probably because I'd never do it!
You can do it! Just don’t look down lol! There is one time a year called bridge day that they let people jump off of it with a parachute. I would NEVER do that!
Very nice views from the trails. My wife is similar to Shelly she is always tell not to go so close the edges. But I don't think she would have done bridge so congratulations on giving it a try.
It was a challenge for her for sure but she did it! I was kind of surprised actually. She freaks out every time I go near the edge. Safe travels and thanks for watching and sharing with us! - Mike and Shelley
SMH, SMH.. Some of the things you guys get into.. Nope.. Won't Happen..I don't walk bridges higher than a 👠😂😂.. Welcome to Vertigo City 😂😂I'm acrophobic.. This is one tour that won't make it to the 🪣 📝.. Yeah stop Mr. Mike you are scaring me too.. Here's my (Point) Of View.. Stay away from pointe 🪨 s 😂🤣🤣My favorite part of the video was seeing the 🐎 Shoe Bend and the coal mine tour.. Thanks for sharing ❤️🙂
Hey Ms Janice! I guess the bridge walk isn’t for everyone. Glad you enjoyed what we could show you. The coal mine thing was pretty cool. It’s hard to believe the conditions these guys used to work in. Stay safe and as always thanks for your support! - Mike and Shelley
We were just there last week! Didn't do the bridge walk tho. Very beautiful park. We stayed at the Exhibition Coal mine campground right above the museum 😂 Great Video!
How cool! We didn’t even know there was a campground there! It was a very interesting exhibit though. The guide we had was exceptional! Great little NP. Thanks for watching and sharing with us. We appreciate it! - Mike and Shelley
I forgot about your powerless dinner but having the whole place to yourself is priceless 😎, fun time for sure can’t wait to see the National Park video!🍻
Literally priceless becasue they didn’t even charge us 🤣. It was a great time and can’t wait to get out there with you guys again! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
You were lucky to grow up in such a great area with adventure all around you! Thanks for watching! Safe travels to you! Hope to see you out there again someday! - Mike and Shelley
I watched the video for the full time, saw Babcock State Park, saw some good reviews of restaurants, not one shot of the newest National Park. Not one shot of the tallest bridge in the US. crossing the New River Gorge! We saw Babcock ( our fave), Hawks Nest and another state park on the south side of the park a couple of years ago. Great video but wanted to see the bridge again!
Hey Todd thanks for watching and leaving us a comment! Come back next week as we will be covered the National Park, the bridge walk, Cole mine tour and more! Stay safe! - Mike and Shelley
@@campinwiththeconfers yes thts wht my channel is about. But Vanlife had to save me cuz it was all I had 4 yrs ago. Now I have a new home base where I can continue to purge n downsize. Its an ongoing battle. Always have a homebase no matter how small it is cuz u will need breaks each yr. Vanlife is much different from Rv life so just take 1 step at a time. One day I hope to have a bigger rig then my minivan. I call it my bedroom on wheels. 🤣😁 I do have everything I need though inside my minivan so I make it work 4 me. Its very addicting when u have the Travel Bug🤪😉
Goodness Mr. Mike 😮.. Glad you were able to get the broken 🗝️ out..Boy it certainly seems like y'all really enjoyed this adventure..Clint, Rudy and the rest of "The Secret Sandwich Society" crew..2 👍🏾 for an amazing hospitality.. Here's a ❓ for you Mrs. Shelley.. What's the name of the game Mr. Mike and Mr. Barry played at the brewery ?..❤ this video.. Until the next one ❤🙂
We’re not sure the name of it. It’s a ring on a string and a hook on the wall. You have to swing the ring and catch it on the hook. We did have a load of fun on this one. Thanks for watching and if you are in the area definitely stop in at the secret sandwich society. It was amazing.
Oh No!! Broken key, uuggh. "I gotta spend at least 2 hours in there" LOL.🤣 Gad Dam Brewery, hilarious! What fun, a Speakeasy! We went to one in Ohio. It was great fun. Looks like a really nice table cloth. - Michelle
Key snap off just glad it wasn't that bad and you have a spare. The speak easy was very cool and the mill. The campground looked and sounds like a nice location to stay to see the NP! Thanks guys
Rosie and I have had our Z-3100 over a year now. We have had it to Alaska and spent the winter off grid in Arizona. We have had a few issues and the fine people at Brinkley have taken care of us. We have done a bunch of modifications. I installed drawers in the cabinet to the right of the stove as well as drawers where they put the garbage cans. We have added shelves to the pantry and shelves in the bedroom closet. Outside I put four Battleborn batteries and a 3,000-watt inverter. On the roof I put and extra 370-watt solar panel. All in all, we are very impressed with Brinkley, and we have had a lot of campers in our 53 years together. Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you-tube.
@@campinwiththeconfers Rosie and I had a Solitude by Grand Design. We were fighting so many issues and then when Winnebago took over and some key people left the support ended. The frame flex problem was it for us. We are in our mid-seventies and want to enjoy our travel. I don't think the price is that bad. Burlington Bill busking on the road and You tube.
@@burlingtonbill4687 interesting. The Solitude is the other model we are considering. We currently have a Reflection and haven’t really had many problems with it. And what we have had GD helped us out with. But we need something a little bigger. Our Reflection is 29 ft and only has one slide.
@@campinwiththeconfers Rosie and I had a Reflection before the Solitude. We toured the plant and met all the owners at the time. We had pretty good luck with the unit and good backing from Micah and some of the others. The frame flex became a nightmare for GD. One bright light would be a young man named Austin Clark. Son of one of the owners Don Clark. He seems to really care. Good luck!
You guys find some great places. Enjoy your videos. One question. We’re do you get those cool cowboy hats. Always wanted one. Be safe. Phil from Detroit.
Hey Phil. We do have a lot of fun out here. As far as the hats go. I’ve got them different places. Just find a western outfitter that shapes hat in house. Find your style and run with it. Go to the rack with the I shaped ones and find your size. They can shape it how ever you want. My shape of choice is a mix between a cattleman and a Gus.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a great time! Next week we show what the NP has to offer. It was just too much for one video! Thanks for watching and commenting! - Mike and Shelley
Mine quite after 16 hrs, parts unavaible in Canada, it's the little thing above the digital display with three knobs on it, controls engine ignition. What brothers me the most was lack of interest from factory
You need 2-360 cubes by Expion, lithium batteries and upgrade solar panels up top to 2-380w panels or more. It will set you back about $8k, but it will pay for itself over 10 yrs. boondocking and not paying for a campground.
At 12:14 “it is not easy living with this woman” LMAO! I’ve been married 35 years, you just have to embrace the suck! LOL! I love my wife, the older she gets the more rules I have to follow, I think she is Gibbs on NCIS.
This park and surrounding area are beautiful. I have visited here twice in the past month as it's only an hour drive from Columbus. Love the hiking trails in the area.
It is one of our favorite parks! The park itself great and then there are so many great things to do in the area! Thanks for sharing, we appreciate it!
@campinwiththeconfers we are going for 1153. So we can see the bridge. I was wondering if it had a good view the site doesn't show a good picture of view
Nah.. I've seen worse RV's and they weren't even traveling.. Y'all are a mess 🤣🤣🥃 🥗.. Just wondering if you guys have tested a laptop with your Solar system ❓2 👍🏾.. Great information and video ❤️🙂
Hey Ms Janice! We actually haven’t tested the laptop but good idea. We will on our next boondocking trip to New Hampshire! Thanks for the idea! Stay safe! - Mike and Shelley
You have to got to get your membership! We have a discount code you can use but they run deals all the time! We still have the moonshine we can share with you! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
We love our Rv camping family! Bummed we missed this one, but next year for sure! And Jenny missed National Doughnut Day too, that day is made for her 😪 Hope to see you guys soon
Solar can be as simple as you want it, or as complicated as you want 🤣 We're just starting to dip our toes into that pond as well. The app on your phone may not be set up for the correct battery type. I had to change mine on the Renogy app
Glad you guys had a nice trip! Good thing Mike is so handy, guess he's a keeper 🤣. We're going to have to remember that campground. Having hat shuttle is nice.
@campinwiththeconfers No, but I'm well aware of the issues. For anyone who's needing help because of bad craftsmanship, I suggest contacting Liz Amazing on RU-vid. God bless you and take care! 🙏
I JUST saw an RV with the same clothes drying rack on the ladder. We don't have a ladder on our Airstream, but I feel like we could mount it somewhere else. It looked like such a neat option to dry clothes.
