I believe you can learn a lot about someone based on the items they keep on their desk, myself included.
I started Work From Hype as a sort of video journal. Any time I added a new piece of gear to my desk, I made a video about it and posted it to RU-vid. Over the past two years this video journal has evolved into a series of surreal memories, that cover everything from my favorite keyboard, to my struggles with staying focused.
If you want to know where the name came from, well yeah, it sounds like "Work From Home", but there's a bit more to it. The real reason why I put so much energy into my office and desk setup, is to try and get myself "hyped" to get to work every day. At some I discovered that I can overcome my personal struggles with focus if I'm excited, or "hyped" about what the place where I get work done.
If you try another split keyboard, at least take one with straight columns, on a regular keyboard, the stagger of rows is the worst for fingers. Now, I agree having at least the functions keys would be nice, but I use an Ergo dash, and despite not having arrow keys, using a layer for movement is maybe my preferred feature of a customizable keyboard.
Great video, I really appreciate that the products you feature tend to be genuinely unique from most of the other creators I see on the platform. As an aside, if you are able to, please update your videos featuring the Spotify Car Thing in some way to reflect that the device is being bricked by Spotify this december. Your coverage of the product gives it a great review, but as it is soon to become purely e-waste I hope you can help warn users away from it.
Like most people, you’re complaining about an issue that doesn’t exist. You will NEVER need to use the mouse while it’s charging, so why does it matter where the port is? The Magic Mouse gets 9 hours of charge if you plug it in for just 2 minutes… that’s a whole work day, for only 2 minutes of charge, and that’s on a situation where it’s completely dead at 0%, which almost never happens. So basically if you just need it for a short session, you could plug it in for like 30 seconds and go for a pee break. As usual though, I think most people don’t do research on the things they choose to be upset about 😅
Social media has social engineered people to be greedy with social media companies money. If you like and subscribe and follow as many channels as possible it cost you nothing. Every clip regardless of the content should be viral. Spread the love.
Do not buy from Keychron. They have horrible customer service. My husband's keyboard came with broken keys and they are not replacing them or letting us do a return. The keys were broken during the manufacturing process and when we opened the box they fell out in pieces. Spend your money with a different company that has better service.
"Fighting with the Windows Volume Mixer". Dude, relax. There's no fighting, you just open it and make your adjustments. Don't be a 'RU-vidr' and exaggerate everything.
It's less about being a RU-vidr and more about preferring physical controls. It's also a premium "accessory", no one needs this, it's jusg something that's nice to have.
While watching this video, I was messing around with plugging it in. I never realized that the curser disappears from the screen when you pick up the mouse. Never knew that.
The Aranet sensor is fantastic. If there is a single gadget in this list that everyone should buy, it’s the Aranet v4. 100 years from now people are going to look back at us like cave dwellers who lacked the intelligence to monitor the quality of their indoor air. I’ve learned a huge amount about indoor air quality thanks to that device. To be pedantic though, monitoring indoor air quality benefits your brain, not your lungs. High CO2 levels affect how your brain feels and functions. Your lungs won’t notice a difference when CO2 gets high. Instead, your lungs care about particulate matter. If you think the Aranet v4 is neat, check out the Qingping Air Quality monitor. It’s beautiful and feels like an iPhone 4, but it exclusively monitors indoor air quality. While it’s not portable like the Aranet v4, the Qingping is internet connected and doesn’t require a direct connection with your phone to view historical data. While my Aranet v4 is collecting dust on a shelf at home, I have multiple Qingping devices which I view every day.
I've been thinking about getting a weather station setup. It seems like a fun bit of tech and provides some interesting data. Many of the displays, like that one, look so cool, too.
I have the Vaydeer multi media controller as well, and I love it. More than that though, I have TWO Vaydeer macropads and I love them more! I use them for coding and regular Windows "stuff".
LinkBuds gen 1 represent! I want to like these so much as they are really helpful for using outdoors when I want to hear my environment but also listen to music / podcasts without any artificial transparency mode. However, the battery has basically failed after 1 year and the mic is terrible with noise rejection, so I can’t take calls with this outside. I still use them from time to time but the battery barely lasts an hour now :/ Haven’t seen them in any video outside of the reviews when it came out.
For about 3 years I've been happily using that Vaydeer volume controller, though I did replace the volume knob for a slightly bigger one without an indexing notch, as it has infinite turning.
Hey man! I wanted to ask how did you mount your webcam on the monitor light bar? I've been struggling to find a solution mounting my insta360 link. I haven't bought a monitor light bar yet because I want to choose something that allows me to mount it securely
I have a Vaydeer media controller - very nice but had to put black tape on a LED, too distracting. I’ve tried a macropad before but realized that media control is my only use case for it.
I've cancelled my Spotify Premium subscription after their announcement to turn all Car Things into paper weights after December 2024, I understand you can't support a product forever but I don't see any reason why they can't just let them continue working.

It has everything I would need at any given moment, but its heavy and there is alot to pack and unpack everywhere I go. Maybe I dont need swiss army desk setup that can go anywhere. Maybe I need to better job at planning ahead!
all of these are incredibly necessary and they all deserve their space planted on, taped under, or hanging close to the ceiling above any desk!! (there's a yt channel that runs an old school weather channel feed that i like to tune in to for the forecast and vibes.... that weather gadget is real funky, but i get it.)
There is something to these weather gadgets. I’m always contemplating building some personal weather station with a raspberry pi. Not sure why but I just think they’re cool.
I want to credit this comment with finally giving me the kick in the pants required to manually time-stamp all of my videos. I never realized just how bad the automated chapters were. Time stamps have been added. Thank you my guy. 🤝
