So clean it out and move on!! We have all been there. It's just what happens. Mouse poop and pee, Eww! Little bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite) dip, some sulfuric acid, or hydrochloric acid, and it's all new smelling again. Just rinse, repaint, and ALL GOOD!!!
Working on it. Been cleaning out 2 or 3 nights a week for a few months now. The seats were buried in rodent bedding and debris when this car was pulled from the field. And you couldn't see the valve covers past the debris in the engine bay. So this one is a bit for a process.
I'm not dogging you bro... I'm saying I've lived it!!! I know what needs done.. I'm offering you help on how to remove that stink... I restored a 71 C10 pickup, 2x 72 Chevelle's, a 78 GMC Heavy Half, and a 79 K20 Snow Plower... I've been there, many many times, and I know the answer!!! Don't embrace the stink!!! ELEMINATE the STINK!!!! Bro!!! Oh, and as for the belts, don't use the bleach or HCL, just soak them in dawn... Under the hood.... Fuck it.. Remove the debris and full send that shit... Mouse pee doesn't hurt the engine on 1st startup.. Troubleshoot the oiling issues next, if there are any!!!!!
Wow lookin good, dont burn yourself out yet. Time nd patient's. When working on old Chrysler cars , my older brother Ed would say :"Rome wasn't built in a day " Big MOPAR fan Im a FORD man myself. Keep us posted!
@@jamesortolano3983 thank you! Definitely gotta pace myself with this one! If I have a favorite I'm a little bit of a Chevy guy. But I think the big three all made some amazing classic vehicles. And I love American cars. Thanks for watching!
I am thinking about swapping my OG to a dakota digital. Can I use the control box that comes with it to control everything? Or will I need to run wires to other parts of the car. Such as the oil sending unit, distributor for tach etc? Thanks in advance and great video!
@@PrimeG2 what engine do you have? If running a carburetor you have to run more wires. The control box has an input for each gauge. You'll have to rujnwires and install the sensors that come with the kit if you aren't running a Holley or other EFI ECU system. I got the Holley adapter because it reduced the wiring I needed, since the Holley already gets most of that data from it's sensors.
@@PrimeG2 you would have to add sensors then. The Dakota digital instruction manual is pretty good. you can find it on the product listing in their website
Once I get my bucket seats, Motor, transmission, axles, suspension, brakes and bodywork I should be ready to attempt a test start LMAO my "56 Chevy 3100 is dying to be back on the road again...
heck, yeah Nick I would’ve never thought about tackling that project. I didn’t even know you could do that. I am feeling pretty confident that I could do the same now. Thanks.
I'd like to retrofit the 66 Thunderbird electric wing window motors onto my 66 LTD. There's a kit for the switches that lets you use a lever to roll up and down. You just push the lever down to roll down and pull up for up (in and out in this case). I'd like to use the manual wing window roller handles as the levers on the switch kit. Maybe I could get four more wing window rollers and convert all 6 windows to electric. With "stock" looking window switches in the stock locations. Do you think that's a good idea?
I’ve seen the window levers used as switches on a Mustang before. I think it would be very cool. And is definitely doable. Especially if the motors bolt in easily. My only concern is that someone who doesn’t know your car could get in and yank on the lever not knowing it’s been converted!!!!!!!
I restore cars for a living. Spray wd-40 specialists gel lube on the rails and pivot points and stuff. It'll lube it up and it'll be alot easier on the motors! Best of luck!
There’s a lot of ones out there with cheap plastic on them. But usually when it’s clear they heat shrink. The really nice ones even have a glue in them to further weather seal them.
