Hi, I just found your video and I ♥️it.! Thank you. I’m trying to decide what If I want to take the plunge into the pocket planner as well. I’m currently using the Hobo weeks( I have stopped using it a few months ago and I’m using I believe the A 5 hobo ( the bigger one) . I absolutely love the tomoe river paper so going to different paper for the pocket is going to be hard because. I know I can get it loose but until I get used to printing I’m going to hold off for a while. I think after watching your video I will take the plunge 🤷♀️.
I can hear your excitement over a new archiving system - that’s super nice for you! I used to be a moleskine girl, many many years ago, but I can’t do the newer paper. I do re-look at them whenever they’re mentioned because of my sentimental connection 😆
Thanks, Linda! And agree memory keeping is pretty much the same thing - for some reason transferring notes and tasks makes it feel more “archive” to me but same thing at the end of the day!
Hi Lindsey! Have you checked out Stalogy 365 notebooks? I’ve been planner hopping a lot but keep on coming back to Stalogy. But I chopped it to TN regular size and put use TN as the cover.
Love the video. Happy to see you doing you and finding happiness in your planning without pushing yourself up trying to stick to something you're not enjoying. Keep it going 😊❤
Hey. Just a heads up that Field Notes paper is not really fountain pen friendly! My partner recently went on a notebook journey and started out with Field Notes. The paper really feathers with the inks and smudges easily
That cover is really pretty. I hear you on the mixed metals though…that sort of thing has long irritated me. Something happened in the last year or two though and I suddenly started to enjoy mixed metals, at least when well balanced. It felt mildly rebellious so it might just be midlife defiance setting in lol.
It doesn’t bother me much either it sort of gives it a less intimidating feel if that makes any sense 😅 sometimes planners feel to fancy to use how I want to (tossing into bags with zero thought etc)
HI. I may have missed the part of how you're using the arrow page flags. Are they for reoccurring tasks and you move them week to week? once you move them, is there a blank space on that day? or do you fill in that it was completed? Thank you
I am looing at the rings for my everyday carry and wallet. Is the personal rings a good size to carry in your purse or would you suggest an A6 size? I can't use the pocket planner as it is just too small for me to plan in.
First time coming across your channel and I’m loving your planner/journal progress and set up…. That said, can you tell me where you got the leather cover for your hobonichi a6 techo 🙏🏽
Although I’m a subscriber, I haven’t watched your channel in a while. This was mostly because you sounded SO anxious most of the time, and watching made me anxious. I don’t know what happened, but you sound confident and happy now. Whatever you are doing that makes you happy, keep doing it! ❤
Loved seeing that little bit of transferring from the previous book into the new one. And ohh thosebrand new packages of beautiful paper are just 🤩🤩🤩. Looking forward to the video next week!
Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried a discbound planner? Levenger’s Compact size is basically the same as the personal rings. Btw, I’m glad to see you back in rings ;)
thanks for sharing - love watching you tweak your systems! I may be missing something super obvious - and if so forgive me - but what is a "desk-bound archive"? Is that basically taking the same role as the Hobonichi Cousin used to?
I watch your rings content because I love your aesthetic and creativity. I’m also on rings, but I also enjoy your Hobonichi and TN content, because your systems are still very similar. That said, I never get tired of repetitive content. If anything, it helps me see how your system evolves over time as you find what works for you, which is where I am with my rings journey too. Only because you mentioned concerns about repetitiveness, which again does not bother me at all, I’m very curious about how you add smaller items to your journal, like photos. Sometimes you stick them right on the paper, other times they’re smaller pieces of paper that you hole punch. Do you do that when you get home from your adventures? How do you collect them? Just looking to jazz up my otherwise boring rings too ❤
European nib sizes are much larger than Japanese pens so the nib size isn't surprising, but I'm tempted by it because I love the antique Kaweco piston fillers and it is about time they brought back a decent filling system.
I enjoyed this video! To me it's less about which system you're using, or for how long, and more about what's working for you and how it's benefiting you in this season. That's what's inspiring to me!
Yay task tabs!! I’m in a B6 book so it’s slightly different, but I use repeating task stickies in my monthly view (placing yearly, quarterly, monthly, biweekly tasks). Then when I plan each week I write in those longer-term tasks on my weekly view and cross them off - best of both worlds!! 😂 I ordered fun color tabs and cut them down to size so they fit my style a bit better. I find them super helpful, especially to shift around to different weeks on my monthly depending on how many life events there are that week of the month! Hope they keep working for ya! ❤
Are you planning on updating your listings on your shop to include A4 files? With that, how do you print a file that is "Letter" without it messing with the insert sizing?
I just like seeing you tweaking your system to fit the needs of this moment. Challenges are fun but so is watching a very organic development. Have fun, think of something to improve your experience, change it up and repeat.
Loved the long video! I really appreciate the detailed explanations on how you're juggling your weeks and A6; especially since that's something I've also spent June trying to figure out. I've fallen in love with journaling and planning in my A6, but often find that trying to memory keep in it and the weeks is a struggle. But your video and own process has given me so many ideas for things to try, and what journals I want to use next year! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of this series and working out of the hobonichi :D
I currently love my personal rings for all things functional (even short journaling) but when it comes to archiving them, I so much prefer bound books. So I’ve decided to try and archive my “memory keep” and important things in my bound Hobonichi during the weekend.. since I’ve come to accept that playing with planners is my hobby and therapy. 😂 Do what works for you. Each season may bring different wants, but hey, why not, right? ❤
