Poor take. The ability to recall big or small reverbs and delays is a big thing on hardware, namely the DJMV10. Only Traktor has done it well in software; thanks to advanced MIDI, modifiers and macros. Good on Serato for having a go at it.
Hi Phil, does the 5.2 ver have Thru button similar to Serato & Traktor to be able to switch from DVS to vinyl analog? My current work around for this is to have Traktor Pro open in the background and switch from there.
Just your opening statement ring so true. Got into tracktor years ago, and even though I admit they're not up to date with all the cool features, stems, an AI support, like some of the other platforms, and I've tried them all, I still can't find anything that matches the mapping power and complexities that Traktor can give me. Have two Allen Heath k2's, and an F1 Kontrol fully customized for my needs. So even though I sit with some envy with all the cool things other platforms are doing, not sure how I would transition effectively from what I got now
UGH. It is still not compatible with Traktor Kontrol Z1 and X1 MK2😢 Also, Traktor Pro is still not available in 4k for my 4k monitor, Djay Pro looks great n sharp on my monitor.
We really think Algoriddim has to double down on this, it's one of those things people will either trust is going to work or not. So yeah, come on, let's have OQ too - keep the momentum going!
THIS IS AMAZING NEWS! GREAT PRESENTATION PHIL! WITH THE APPLE MUSIC INTEGRATION, APPLE VISION, TIDAL STEMS, AND NOW THE HARDWARE UPDATE. I’D SAY DJ PRO HAS LEVELED UP QUITE NICELY. HANGING AROUND THE APPLE ECOSYSTEM IS SEEMING TO BE A NO BRAINER ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE DJ PRO. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE LOGIC PRO INTEGRATE AT SOME POINT FOR THE DJ / PRODUCER SIDE OF IT.
I am a fan of Dj Pro I just wished they had linked up with Denon and integrated their software especially given the on/off Serato acquisition, having watched Mojax review also it is disappointing you cannot use the screens on Engine devices as I have a Prime Go, seems like a bit of an oversight there. I just want Dj Pro to be able to be a standalone option I really don’t want to spend £££ to buy a new laptop/ipad also is there a way to migrate cues/loops etc from Engine to Dj Pro as having to re do all of that is a nightmare
Hey Phil, love your videos man, thank you for everything. You have said yourself, dj software is a niche market. That said having the resources to deploy all features to all platforms simultaneously makes no economic sense because that would require an army of devs. This could be done at a marketing level, having all the releases ready and announce them together. But this would slow down the momentum and it would be unfair to certain users, since they would have to wait for features to become available in all operating systems. Finally, deploying them gradually also gives devs a chance to test them further and receive valuable feedback from users. I am genuinely impressed with Algoriddim momentum, they have been hammering us with ideas, features and releases. A huge shout out for their dev team. Keep it guys, you are shaping the dj landscape in the most amazing way. 👏🫶🙏
@@digitaldjtips I’m pretty sure that Roland has stopped the production of their DJ controllers. As a long time owner of the 707m I’ve been waiting on support for this software since they introduced DVS support. A 707m paired with this software on the iPad would be a dream come true!
What I find amazing about that list is that the Djay Pro 5.2 supports the Ion Discovery DJ. That device was my first introduction to controllers and I still have it in the closet. It is more of a child toy compared to the controller today.
I’ve been you using DJ Pro for a few years now, and it use to work with Legacy hardware that I still own. I had a 2013 MacBook Pro which I was able to use my SL3 interface to connect to my TTM 56S Rane Mixer & DN-3700 CDJ’s. Since then I brought a IPad Pro M1 & the DDJ-200 for portability, but I would still like to use my Rane mixer with DJ Pro. Does anyone know if My SL3 interface will work with DJ Pro., in order to play through an external mixer?
Yes it works… I use it with RANE SL4, XONE 92 & 1200s, & Traktor X1 MK2 with Mac Catalina OS. I keep Traktor Pro open in the background to enable to switch to Thrus (Live) for Vinyl analog records.
I know several people who still own gear like xdj rx2 which doesnt play flac. And I've had some WAVs that won't load on CDJs, so ive defaulted to AIFF or 320 mp3s
Look, I'm kinda happy that it works on Windows with the SC LIVE 4... But, why no stems on Android? The hardware in a new Samsung phone is just as good as an IPhone. This is ridiculous in my opinion. I'm not going to buy an iPad or other ios device so I can use all the features of DJay Pro.
What controller would you recommend upgrading to after the 707m??? I’ve had mine a couple years and just need something that has full size jog wheels but with similar features? Thank you!
And to Jason who said you need separate subscriptions, that’s not the case anymore, if you create an account with algoriddim you can use it on all platforms with one subscription now.
@@digitaldjtips Hey Phil. I saw a video yesterday from Mojaxx he explained the problem Denon DJ has with the AI Djay Pro Software. Thank you again Phil.
I’ve switched almost seamlessly in to using this over the last couple years. The last few Traktor updates and laptop changes put an end to it. The only thing I struggle with in comparison is setting beat grids when it gets it wrong and I wish it wasn’t a subscription app. Other than that…I’ve been hard pushed to find a problem with the software. It’s excellent.
Looked at purely from a software point of view, it IS the best. But they have to get the hardware integrations right - it's a big ask, but this is a big step in the right direction.
Thank you Phil for bigging up Virtual DJ. I think VDJ is way underrated. But I love how VDJ can plug into any software and work. Especially if you have the pro license. Wish they could have partner up with PioneerDJ or Denon.
I am not a DJ (mad respect for the work put in), but i am a mod for a house music DJ who has his own record labels and works on tracks he likes to feature before it is released while we livestream. We stream on Twitch. I'm not too sure anymore about this news. We are exploring other options such as Kick and back to Mixcloud (we tried it back a few years back and wish they improved livestream options and features). My question is if known DJ'S like Morales and Vega, Jazzy Jeff who stream on Twitch and say on their channels they are working on a track that is still in progress, how does it work for them? First it was twitch stories, then it was check out smaller channels catagory, but with this, you have to be affiliates, and discoverability is very scarce for smaller channels. They are disabling VODs, clips, and highlights. How is this going to work? We cannot even promote other links while streaming and encourage only Twitch audience to like and follow. This is from a mods perspective, i feel for those smaller channels who have worked hard to build a community to only have all these rules. I know i am not an expert, but i do not want someone's channel taken down because of certain caveats. It is a very mixed feeling as well from other independent DJ/artists I have spoken to.
If you shut it off do you haft to go back and set the drivers and reset everything all over again or once you set everything up is it good to go even if you turn it off? That would be my last question before I purchase it.
@@digitaldjtips one feature I’m looking for in a standalone controller is a talk over feature. Is there a talk over button on the prime go? If not, can you recommend a standalone with talk over feature the only one I found so far is the rane four thanks for your time
