You're a doll. After about 6 searches, I found yours ! 👌. My screw fell out, causing the entire blade assembly to fall apart spring and all. Followed your instructions and GOOD TO GO ! Thumbs up 👍

I had to reassemble mine today when I took it out to empty the ice and all the blades fell out because the screw came loose. In your video, it looks like you already disassembled and reassembled it once so your blades and washer orders are already incorrect. The blades have numbers on them and I believe the order should be 3,2,1. Watch this video for correct assembly: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pKbjXXQ8FaA.html.

I went into a home depot and looked at a new unit, and i think the correct order is: Triblade, shoulder washer, fixed eye blade, flat washer, triblade, shoulder washer, fixed eye blade, flat washer, triblade, endcap, screw. Locktite was a great suggestion.

I wish I could post a picture, but you are wrong on order. The two step washers go with (center) the crusher arms so that the rotating assembly doesn’t clamp up on the crusher arms. Also the rotating star blades are numbered 1, 2, 3 and go on in that order. Also the crushing groves face the crushing arms as to crush the ice.

Well I can't believe it because I got it all back together!! HUGE THANKS to Deeann Kidd and several others who had a slightly different combination of blades, shoulder washers and flat washers. Getting the darn plastic pieces to slide into the groves on the sides took WAY longer for me but gosh, it works! I had 3 flat washers, 3 shoulder washers as my gear arm thingy has 3 arms, not 2. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! My LG unit is LSC24971 from about 2011 and trying to locate a new or refurbished ice bucket assembly online was futile due to the age and all the pictures of the replacement part were different from mine, plus over $200+ so I'm thrilled! After dumping some ice from a zip lock baggie to test it because I couldn't wait for ice to form, I've got crushed ice and cubes. Omg...YAYAY!! Thanks everyone once again!

Deeann, thank you for making this video and thank-you Jon for the correct assembly sequence.

Fyi you do not need 3 of the flat washer, the bottom or number 1 blade closet to the back where motor hooks on to sites on the plastic itself. So there are total of 2 of the washers with posts and 2 of the flat white washers, total 4 washers. I had to take mine apart to shave off some plastic on the side as the blades were chipping plastic off and going in the drinks. Also can use a longer screw as well instead of the smaller one that comes.. to add more threads binding i guess.

Just what I needed. My machine is only 3 years old. Called Lowes extended warranty, said I need an ice bucket. They said I could buy one online and they would cover 50% or have a service call. GEEZ. My shaft has a hole for some type of pin. Had a metric screw and nut that did the trick. The pin must have ended up in my whiskey :)

Thanks sooooo much for time and step by step instructions on fixing an LG ice bin. I consider myself pretty handy at most things but this had me stumped. My wife asked me a couple days later if I knew what a spring she found on the floor was for. I’m glad I kept it because your video solved that question. Your video made the assembly fairly easy, and my gosh it worked. You just saved me over $100.00 for a new assembly. I was so surprised you were the only video with instructions. Thank you again.

Awesome, we have a Kenmore Elite and your video gave me an idea how to assemble probably saving me $500 repairs in todays world. Mine is a little different but was able to get it to work. Thank you.

This was a great help. When I got the ice out of the box, all of the parts fell out too as the screw had come out. So it was just a puzzle. This video allowed me to get it back together without calling the repair guy

I noticed the three loose blades were numbered 1-3. I put them on #1, then #2 (only slightly offset from #1), then #3 (only slightly offset from #2). Too bad we can't post photos here. We'll see how that performs.

Thank You.... my bin on our LG LFX28978ST started to come apart so I decided I needed to pull the bin apart to attempt repair. When things started REALLY coming apart I was a bit concerned that I'd have trouble getting it beck together but your video helped (minus the extra washer issue ; ) and I was able to put the puzzle back together fairly easily & feel accomplished!! Thanks for taking the time to help strangers with their ice bin issues. 😁👍🏼

she is putting it together correct - no need for the 3rd washer she is talking about in the beginning and not using anyway ;) - just make sure you suse the plades as markes starting with 1 …2….3..

This was a great video - quick and to the point. Somehow my spring ended up coming out the ice dispenser and I still have no clue how that happened so I took it all apart to see where it might go. This was the only video that showed where the spring goes. By the way - I assume anyone watching this video might have ice freezing problems...like I did. I learned that just by slightly backing off the water pressure to the ice maker, it reduces the "splashing" that spills out of the ice tray while re-filling after an ice dump. This fixed the ice freezing issue by not having water splash into the bin. Happy crunching!

Thank you so much! Agree with the commenters who mentioned that there are really only two flat washers and that the blades are actually numbered 1 2 3 with numbers facing you, 1 at the base and 3 at the screw head end.

I love RU-vid for content like this. Same problem... that end screw had come loose and the grinding mechanism was falling apart. I had a pile of parts on the kitchen table but could not figure out how it went together until I watched this video. Very nicely explained. By the way, mine only had 5 stainless steel screws and 2 of the flat white washers. The final step of getting the back on does require some patience. But I eventually got it all pulled together properly. Thanks again!

Thanks! This is the exact same dispenser in my mom's Kenmore Elite. But just a heads up for anyone else watching. There are only two flat washers, not three as mentioned at the start. I thought I was missing one so I stopped the video and went to my shop and made one out of some nylon I had laying around. Sooo..

Thank you thank you thank you! I could not figure this thing out to safe my life. I have only one slight correction. The blades are numbered 1 -2-3 so when you put them back on in that order they end up in a progressive formation. The way you put your blades back may not work quite as well. But I am grateful beyond measure for this video and for you taking the time to make it!

Followed the video and also Jon's notes in another comment... I think the correct order, from back to front, is actually blade 3, shoulder washer with the narrow end out, L blade, flat washer, blade 2, flat washer, L blade, shoulder washer with the narrow end in, blade 1, cap, screw. The blade numbers should be facing front so you can read them as you screw in the screw.

Fingers crossed that I reassembled this stuff on my Mom's Kenmore Elite. I pulled the tray out to pour out a mas of cubes and the blades tumbled out as well. Sure enough, here's a terrific RU-vid video. Also, I concur with Jon Johnson's advice below, which was also very helpful. Hardest part was marrying the tow plastic halves of the tray. That tested my patience.
