Hey this is great, John! I have the Infinity Arm from Exponent Edge and I think I could definitely use it for hip-related stretches. Have a lot of recovery to go through. Just had my second hip surgery for the year. So ALSO I thank you for all the encouragement you put on your channel to work through injuries and set backs. I haven’t been able to do much lifting in 2024 bc of that and I am so excited to get back to it (slowly) in late 2024 and 2025.

Oh wow! Get well soon Josh! I’m glad you like the video, I’m actually thinking about doing a video just showing all of the ways that I’ve found to use this pad since I got it. It would have to be a long form video though. Too many movements to fit into a one minute RU-vid Short! Thanks for stopping by man! Great hearing from you!

I have the Hydra version and it's a great attachment. Only issue I have is the weight. It's heavy, and gets a bit awkward moving it around near the end of a workout.
@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia День назад
I’ve heard others say that the weight is an issue. I noticed that my wife doesn’t use it as much as I thought she would but she loved it when we tried it at HomeGymCon in 2023. Probably because when she tried it they already had it mounted on the Hydra whereas in our gym we have to set it up and take it down.

@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia День назад
honestly it never occurred to me that someone would be interested in seeing that. It mounts just like a J hook so I seriously didn't consider that anyone might be confused about how to mount it. That's me looking at things through the lens of someone who mounts attachments all of the time and because my impression is that anyone watching this video isn't an entry level person so they would have experience with mounting this kind of attachment. Again, that's looking at things through my lens rather than what I should have done, which is look at things through the lens of the person watching. I'll shoot a video showing the mounting process and attach it as another reply to your comment. Thanks for the reminder!

@chrisdonnell2575 2 дня назад
@@GarageGymLifeMedia I do like it but had it too high used it last for one arm dumbbell row. I have the Spud Inc leg raise straps and does about the same and have hanging on pull up bar so always there to do some ab work quickly between sets. I suspect this does hit them a bit differently and also seemed harder so will do these once a week I think. I might also try lying on it stomach wise and try to lift legs to work lower back! Never would have thought of this thank you!
@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia 2 дня назад
So training your abs hanging vertically isn’t as difficult as doing it on an incline especially with a prestretch because it hanging leg raises don’t work them through their entire range of motion. Think about doing a standing crunch with resistance from a cable stack that’s behind you vs just standing up and bending at the waist. It’s essentially the same thing.
@chrisdonnell2575
@chrisdonnell2575 2 дня назад
@@GarageGymLifeMedia Great point thank you for the detail. I'll lower it tomorrow and try it correctly this time. Legs being further our obviously increases the resistance a lot too! Kind of like lifting a small mace not too hard with light weight but 4 feet further out so much harder! I should have just taken a min and lowered it 3-5 inches and then could have done it right. Appreciate your response or might have stupidly wrote this exercise off!

I have it for the Hydra racks and think it’s an incredible value and super efficient. I have noticed other options allow the pad to be adjusted- not sure if totally necessary or would that just add more time in finding the best configuration for exercises vs the simple (but effective) design this product offers. I store it on the back of my half rack and my upright does have a lot of scrapes on it from the seal row pad… maybe I’ll throw some tape on it, per the advice you read in this video.
@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia 3 дня назад
Two exercises that I think would be easier if the pad rotated are one arm preacher curls and cable side crunches. Possibly others but those are the first two that popped into my head last night when I was playing around with it.

@619.DRIVER that’s what I did but it doesn’t take much to exceed the 300lb load limit for the arms. Two pairs of 45s and then a pair each of 35s, 25s, 15s and 10s is 350lbs.

Isn't that the same as just adding more weight?
@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia 6 дней назад
No it makes it so there’s less resistance when I go down and more resistance when I’m standing back up. So it’s helping me get in the habit of forcing my upper back to push against the bar which will help me on squats.

@@GymCrafter I have a set of blocks that I use in this situation but it’s not ideal so I recommend that lifters who compete choose something else. But for accessory/bodybuilding style training it’s fine. At your height it might actually feel better than benches that are regulation height.

@@GarageGymLifeMedia At that time I had a BowFlex at home. The gym I went to was all machines, no free weights at all.
@GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia 9 дней назад
@GymCrafter I gotcha. I haven’t been to an all machines gym since I was 14 and dabbling occasionally on the multi station in my grandmother‘s condo but I remember that the gyms where I trained from 93 to 2000 typically had adjustable benches that had slick pad surfaces, and when I got my first adjustable bench for my home gym (it was a Dynabody adjustable bench) it was also about 21 inches tall but it felt normal to me. In fact, it wasn’t until I started competing in powerlifting in 2009 or 10 that I realized that the benches I had been using were all way taller than what was available on the platform. So prior to that experience that hip angle, felt normal to me. I came home from my first competition and started looking around for a way to replicate a shorter bench and so for a while until I got my AB 5200 I would bench with blocks under my feet. When I do assistance work, I do it with a flat back (or sometimes with my feet up on the bench) so it doesn’t really bother me.

The barbell bomb seems like it is something i can drop in my gym bag on my back days. @GarageGymLifeMedia
@GarageGymLifeMedia 10 дней назад
Hey thanks for watching! Happy to help however I can.
