I just may have to invest in an airbrush to get smoother transitions, but its also relaxing to layer up paint with a cheap brush on my infinity models.
I don't know, probably just me, but if I were going into battle against the hoardes of xenos, I would probably skip the battle skirt. Love the contextual texture, by the way.
Why are you waste my time? I mean... just say and show important stuff, don't waste people time on non-important nonsense in video about miniature game, c'mon. Also "The BEST Skirmish Game You've Never Heard Of?" looks like clickbait, to be honest. Dislike.
Okay first of all...there's a whole ass skip function you can use to skip bits you don't wanna listen to. Hell, you can click off the video if it wasn't what you wanted. I make my content the way I enjoy making content, it's an expression of myself and my passion for the hobby. Also... The video literally talks about a niche skirmish game people aren't likely to be familiar with. One which I think is very good, and at the time was one of the best I'd seen. How in any way does that not deliver on the premise of the title? On a scale of one to shit, ill-informed, poorly presented comments, you get a gold banana sticker, friend.
@@TesseractMinis, Okay, let's see, I want comment this. > skip function What difference does it make? Slowness and Time Wasting are still present. > How in any way does that not deliver on the premise of the title? I got the impression that you had little experience with this game, but you've already jumped to call it the best, so I'm writing that it looks like a clickbait title. > On a scale of one to shit, ill-informed, poorly presented comments, you get a gold banana sticker, friend. Sorry, but my comment is the same as your video. By the way, I'm not your friend.
Northstar has added more boxes since then - Scavengers in particular is excellent. Plus, the Stargrave boxes fit perfectly with the Frostgrave ones, so you can mix in the Soldiers, Cultists, and Wizards.
Awesome thanks for this. I still say that the Stallone Dredd movie was ok. Good in fact. I think of early JD and that movie was a genuine effort on that. Comics have different artists, who have different interpretations.
I think this is a cool idea for a video series, and I'm glad to hear there are more episodes on the way. Personally, I like the abomination scheme a little more than the Catachan. Cheers.
Fantastic format for a video! Both great models and both turned out really nice. Going to be so much fun seeing what else there is and how you work on them all
I'm a instructor pilot for the military, while I'm trying to help folks build their control touch I harp on anchoring. It's a lot easier to make fine control inputs with the fingertips when your forearms are braced than freewheeling from the shoulder.
Great video! Both minis are very well painted. I like the Chaos creature a bit more, because it's unique and creative. It would have been nice to know how this challenge started and who did send in minis, probably Patreons and channel members? Was there a fee involved?
Hey, thanks for the comment! We put out a call last month on all of our socials, offering them as extremely discounted commissions. The people who took us up were a mix of patrons, existing clients and one or two new faces, who presumably just know of us through social media. We'll likely do the same thing again at some point, if this series is successful. Maybe with a new twist.
@@TesseractMinis Thank you very much for your quick answer! I guessed as much. From the concept I expected you to go more wild, like painting the colonel with pink, orange, and neon green colours, because he was deployed on a vibrant, poisonous Death World. ;-) That might be an idea for the new twist.
Those are some really cool pant jobs dude! The "breaking out of it's skin" look on the abomination clinches it for me as it's such an epic visual design.
Playing a Wargame now as 2024 Russia or Israel would feel completely wrong to me, so time really is the only variable in why playing Bolt Action feels slightly less so.
Hi, prob dumb question, how would you apply this technique for the robe of some clan rats? Im a complete noob when it comes to painting, actually waiting on my first warhammer purchase to arrive (skaventide). And besides applying washes, i wouldnt know how to convert this technique over to a robe
For basing, one thing I enjoy is really mixing and matching different textures, crackle pastes, texture pastes, and gravel, dirt, slate... There are so many options and they're all quite easy.
Man, I love both of those models. I think I prefer the brightness and contrast of colour temperature of the demon model, and but they both absolutely slap
Not all the Germans were nazis , shock horror most were duped into doing their duty just like in ww1 when both sides were called up to fight the industrial meat grinder. The British shot thousands of its own for refusing or having shell shock (ptsd) .
21:00. Bolt Action isn't a simulation. Geez, I had a friend who used to play axis and allies and always wanted to play the Germans to prove his tactics would have helped That Guy win. The problem is you aren't playing against the generals of the time with the information that they had. You're playing your dumbass friends who also have the same rule book and knowledge of every unit's capabilities and location.
With historical wargames, I find I’m not comfortable playing time periods where there are still participants and immediate family of participants still alive. That’s the primary reason I don’t play games like Bolt Action, or anything set even more recently. That is not to say there is anything wrong with those that do. It’s just my preference, I need that additional step back in order to be able to enjoy the hobby.
Perfectly reasonable, and honestly echoes how I felt for the longest time. As I said in the video, I've been umming and raring over bolt action for about 5 years. Totally get where you're coming from.
@@TesseractMinis If you're interested in the rules how about trying Beyond the Gates of Antares or Warlords of Erehwon? They use the same core mechanics IIRC but are transposed into sci-fi and fantasy settings respectively.
I know you’re just trying to make the point that “both sides committed war crimes so why is it only bad when people play nazis” but you kinda make a false equivalency with it. Yes allied troops committed war crimes but they weren’t nearly on the same level as the Germans. The Allies crimes were sporadic and the result of individuals, the Germans were constant and the result of policy. I understand your point but it’s dangerous to make it like that
To be specific, I think that you are right. WW2 is a just another war that is bad but it’s also fun to play games about it. I think your points about CoD and Napoleon are good, and I think that playing games is not the same as endorsing a political ideal. My specific concern is with you making the “all sides were bad” argument about a war where one side had 2 horrific war crime machines while the other were relatively normal militaries
In order to make a false equivalency, I'd have had to imply or state that their crimes were equal. Which I did not, not once. I stated that crimes and war are a horrific constant regardless of who the combatants are.
