Hey Dave, thanks for the instructions, you rock! I just checked mine (exc300 2023, 160hrs), and got 9ml (fast only). The cycle lasted for one minute. It looks like that's more than enough oil, but I'd like to know what do you make of it? Thanks man 💪

TSP is not a company I would recommend. Last year I picked up a new XC 250. I ordered some parts including a TSP head, planning to build a bike over the winter. I then had an opportunity to pick up an xc300, which I did and subsequently sold the 250 still in the crate. I emailed TSP asking if I could exchange the head(still in the unopened box)for one for the 300. No reply. I emailed them again a week later stating I would pay any price difference as well as shipping both ways. Noreply. I emailed them a third time a couple of weeks later. No reply. They simply do not care about customer service.

The online guide shows the positive/negative values on the tune tab in an image (when the TSP map is selected). However, when I went to flash the bike, those values stayed at 0 (with the latest 2024 Trail map). Is that because they are hidden w/ a TSP tune? This was a '24 300 TBI. And this was selecting the "TSP Tune" option under the 'Preset' dropdown,
@TwoStrokePerformance
@TwoStrokePerformance Месяц назад
If you leave all values at zero you will be flashing the TSP tune to the ECU without any further changes. In this case (when everything is zero) the preset label is 'TSP' because you are flashing our tune as we intended it. If you change any of the cells you are now flashing a modified version of our TSP tune (with your changes overlaid onto our tune) and in this case the preset label changes to 'Custom'. Likewise if you choose one of the other preset labels, eg 'Softer' if will flash our TSP tune with the Softer changes overlaid onto it. In all cases you are flashing a TSP tune, its just that you may have chosen to make some changes to it or not.

Hey Guys I keep getting an error code saying P1404 Exhaust Valve Lower Position not reachable. When I ride right on the bottom there’s a dead spot/bog and then it takes off like a bat out of hell. TSP PV cover and ERM added, and Iridium plug. Downloaded Trail mapping and I’m at/below Sea Level Long Island NY
@TwoStrokePerformance
@TwoStrokePerformance Месяц назад
I would suggest carefully checking wiring to the PV servo. If possible swap the servo for one off another TBI bike and see if its still happens. We have had the same issue on one of our shop bikes and it turned out to be a wiring fault. Another possibility could be carbon build up stopping the PV from reaching its limits.
@christophernapolitano8404
@christophernapolitano8404 Месяц назад
I reset code, then PV and TPS again and then went for a ride, code is staying off now. But the dead Spot/BOG off initial throttle 0-15% is not going away. Then it opens up and pulls like crazy. But nothing on the Bottom.
@TwoStrokePerformance
@TwoStrokePerformance Месяц назад
@@christophernapolitano8404 i would still investigate the PV. Lack of bottom end power then strong mid/top are a common symptom of a powervalve thats set too high. There could be something stopping the PV from reaching its correct lowest point. Even though you did the PV reset it may have just reset the low position to something higher than it needs to be. eg. if carbon was stopping it from reaching its correct down postion the ECU just resets the new (higher) position as closed because thats as far as the PV can travel.

The ERM is currently a single license device so it can only be used to tune one bike at a time. If you want to leave your current ECU tuned and take the ERM to a new bike you can purchase a reset through your account at tsp-erm.com At some time in the future we will be releasing a version which allows multiple licenses, however we dont have a timeline for that yet. It will most likely be later this year or early next year.

unfortunaely you cant use the stock on one colour and TSP on the other. Each time you load a 'tune' is comes with 2 'maps' (white and green). The stock 'tune' has its own white and green maps and our TSP tune has its own white and green maps. You can use the ERM to modify either the white or the green map on the TSP tune though. Doing this allows you to make either map run almost any way you like.

No, you only need to do it the first time you pair the ERM with the ECU. Once it has been done the first time you can then make changes with the ERM and you wont have to do it again. Probe the Black and Yellow/Red wires on the back of the TPS plug. With both the red and yellow throttle body adjusters backed all the way out you need to set the TPS to 0.40v. Not you wont have done any damage. We have updated the process for several reasons. This most recent update, which now includes the adaptive value reset, has come about to bring the process in line with the KTM manual. The reality is that the vast majority of ECUs already have 0.40v saved as the TPS baseline value. For these bikes the adaptive value reset doesnt change anything. Rather than telling some people to do it and others not to, we have simply now said to everyone to perform the reset as a safeguard. The reason we are confident in this process is that we have a database of hundreds of original ECU tunes from ERM customers and can see exactly what value they are already set to. Virtually all of them are already at 0.40.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for the wonderful products you guys make!

How does it work?? At high revs the pressure waves travelling back and forth through the expansion chamber help to supercharge the cylinder, filling it with more fresh fuel/air than it would otherwise receive. This supercharging effect, and the extra power that results, is often what riders feel when they say a 2 stroke is “on the pipe” at higher revs. The downside of this phenomenon is that the same pressure waves that help to supercharge the cylinder at high revs actually make it harder for fresh charge to enter the cylinder at lower revs. This causes a drop in power at low/mid revs. To combat this some powervalve systems incorporate a ‘Torque Chamber’. A Torque Chamber is a chamber on the side or top of the cylinder which is opened and closed by the action of the powervalve. When the powervalve is closed or down, the chamber is open to the exhaust gasses. When the powervalve opens at high revs the chamber becomes closed to the exhaust gasses. At low revs, when the chamber is open, the pressure waves travelling through the expansion chamber enter the Torque Chamber and are dissipated somewhat, losing some of their strength. The reduction in the strength of these waves helps to improve the filling of the cylinder with fresh charge. Therefore, the Torque Chamber adds extra power down low by reducing the negative impact of the pipe in this rpm range. By adjusting the volume of the Torque Chamber we can further reduce the negative impact of the pipe at low revs, and increase power even more. This is how the TSP Oversize Powervalve cover helps to increase power at low revs (approx 3000-5000rpm). In order to find the ideal volume of the chamber we spent months dyno and track testing various designs until we settled on a design that made a noticeable improvement in low/mid torque.

@TwoStrokePerformance
@TwoStrokePerformance 3 месяца назад
Its not snake oil. Some 2 stroke engines have used these chambers as part of their powervalve design for decades. The old KTM 360/380 motors, and the GasGas (now Reiju) 250/300 motors are 2 examples of exactly the same system. KTM has brought back an old design in the new generation 250/300 motor. Our website gives a fairly clear explanation on how the cover works... here is the text... "At high revs the pressure waves travelling back and forth through the expansion chamber help to supercharge the cylinder, filling it with more fresh fuel/air than it would otherwise receive. My Kawasaki KMX125 has the KIPS power valve system, which has a similar chamber that connects to the exhaust port duct. When the power valves are closed, this chamber is open to the exhaust port, and when the power valves open the auxiliary exhaust ports, the chamber is blocked off simultaneously. It definitely works on my bike in the 4000-6000rpm area. So the modern Enduro and MX bikes work the same way, with a multi function power valve. I've read that because the chamber is effectively a resonator to nullify the action of the wave energy in the pipe, it can only work optimally at one particular engine speed, but in practice the range where there is some degree of useful effect is spread over around 1000rpm. The same thing would apply with an inlet boost bottle, but I don't know if both systems would work together without interfering with each other?

It adds more volume to the power valve / exhaust area. It must change the resonance, like a boost bottle. TSP: post some dyno runs.

Yes they sure are! You can contact Steve at South Bay Moto Performance, he has been distributing our products in the USA for a few years now. Also the team at Slavens Racing now have stocks of TSP products as well. Either company will give you great info and great service.

If I wanted more oil over the whole rev range and all throttle positions I would put 10% for example in all the boxes is my understanding

Thank you What octane fuel do you tune on Have a minor knock with the stock TSP tune but goes away in basic tuning when I select the rich setting
@TwoStrokePerformance
@TwoStrokePerformance 3 месяца назад
@@med0ri Hi we always use 98 RON non ethanol pump fuel. Different fuels have a very big impact on tungin requirements. For example E10 fuel may need an extra 5% fuel approx. The baseline TPS setting is also very important... needs to be 0.40v. Sounds like youre on the right path by using the richer setting if the engine sounds happier.
