excellent idea to use the file on the exterior of the barrel and take off that very sharp edge. a self-proclaimed gunsmith where I live put a 11 deg. crown on my new barrel and left that sharp edge which over time chipped off in small pieces. didn't affect the rifle shooting but made the barrel mouth look crappy

Does this Anschütz put an indent at 12 o'clock on the chamber mouth when dry fired like later Anschütz do? Eg needs to have a dummy round when dry firing to prevent that damage?

Code is risers should not be greater than 7 3/4 inches high. They should be all uniform and not deviate more than 3/8 inch.

Pro tip - if you're replacing with the OEM AC Delco model, you can't compress them manually, and they don't come with straps compressing them. BUT - you don't have to. If you extend the suspension all the way (raise the bottle jack until suspension is fully extended) the shock will be fully extended also. The old ones will slide out with ease, and most importantly, the new ones will slide in with ease. As noted in the video, there aren't many videos on this, and I found none that explained that regarding the OEM replacement. I was torturing myself on how to compress the shock until I figured this out!

with one more level of forethought, you could prep the piece so that if needed, you can prepare the surface by leaving room for a 'finish pass' over any burnished areas. I love this idea you presented. It's so simple. Thanks!

Thank you - this was so informative and helpful. I inherited a 1987 Speedmaster from my brother-in-law and it hadn't been fired or cleaned since the 80's. Your step by step video was super clear and helped me get it apart for cleaning (and back together afterwards). Can't wait to see how it fires. Cheers!

Ok Brother, I am sure we will both agree this is a JOKE of a fix. I made a video of the nationalmatchshim on my channel and yes it is going to cost you a grand total of $11 bucks, but it will remove every bit of that upper and lower slop PERMANENTLY my friend. Check it out and then let me know what you think. I have it on all my ARs and they are QUIET, none of that rattle you are dealing with

Enco were made in Europe but that factory is closed. This is very similar to my Shenwai900 12 X 36 Taiwanese lathe except mine has a screwed on chuck. I had to make a special tool to change the chucks. I have it 40 years and would not take any money for it because it is so good. The solenoid forward and reverse switch is long burned out but I fitted a push pull cable to it instead and it works perfectly. The slides as scraped on mine too.

Do you know how to make mossberg 590 magazine tube to frame threads
@precisionmachineshed
@precisionmachineshed 2 месяца назад
I would need to look at what you are referring to. Off the top of my head, I should be able to make just about any thread on a lathe.
@kwal1362
@kwal1362 3 месяца назад
You shouldve just taken of the treads, placed your new uncut stringer against the side of one of the exisiting stringers and just traced it. Then you have the oppertunity to replace the nails in the stair treads with screws. 3 -4 hour job
@Paladin1873
@Paladin1873 3 месяца назад
I made a square cutting tool seven years ago for a magazine tube I had to thread at 1:12 tpi, but I don't recall putting any angle on the cutting tip. The tube has fairly loose tolerances, so maybe that's why I got away with it. I am about to modify another tube, so I watched your videos as a refresher. My only wish is that you had shown all the math needed to determine the angle in degrees. After a couple of hours of research I finally figured it out and realized you rounded up to the nearest whole number.

I just did the electronic front and electronic/air rear shocks on my 2003 Yukon Denali. I used a jack and jack stands. With the Yukon on stands, the jack was used to support the axle and the control arms. I removed the wheels and the rear fender liners for better access in the back. For the fronts, the liner could be pushed out of the way. I used a pair of vise grips on the front shocks to keep them from spinning while removing the top 15mm nut. The jack was also very useful for compressing the front shocks so there were enough threads exposed to push the electronic connector on until it clicked into place. For anyone doing this job, the grey plastic portion of the front shock electronic connector rotates to release it from the shock. That was the only tricky part to figure out. Total time was about 2 hours. A shop quoted me $640 to do the job.
