In later analysis, Jordan not only elevated his team’s potential but the opposing team’s as well. Everyone came to play when Michael was on the floor. He was incredible as these clips justify so clearly. Wow. Thx for bringing back some memories. Back then it wasn’t as easy to catch other teams though the Bulls could be seen on somewhat basic cable through the Chicago network. Not here to comment on Lebron. It’s more that the icons/leaders of the league played hard selfless ball. Something more rare now. I hope things change but a lot has been spoiled already. Thank you again for reacting to the Jordan highlights. He’s one of the three Mike’s! (..Jackson, Tyson ;)
Many people think Mike started playing in the 1990s..damn..1st year was 1984. By 1987, he was already considered the league's, no the world's best player. Mike played in 3 decades..80s, 90s, which he completely dominated and 2000s. Stop talking about this dude as if he started in 1990s.
Kobe could only mirror the older Jordan. The younger Jordan was unmatched. This why the debate with Lebron makes no sense. Jordan was the GOAT before he even won a title.
All the players today would never last in late 80s and 90s basketball we would run out of bandaids. They use to punish Jordan and yet he kept coming at them. No flops back then
Your initial argument is stupid, like you are apparently. If you're old enough to have watch Jordan play, you're also old enough to watch James play.... And those of us that have watched both play all agree that Jordan is better and it's not close. But since you're too young have seen Jordan in his prime, that somewho makes James the greatest by default? It's an idiotic argument from personal incredulity. If you want to say James is your favorite player of all time, fine. That's an opinion. But Jordan being the GOAT is a fact.
😅😅 longevity? Mike 16yrs vs 20+, 10 finals appearances with few all stars, goat of scoring & top 10 in almost every category?..if not for Pippen mike hv no rings! Or W/Phill..why he was all abt himself..Mikes years don't & can't be compared to LBJ"s...why? Hes a flat out quiter! Missed 328 gms! 4yrs & his last 2 he didnt even make the playoffs out of shape & ignored his teamates to stat pad😅😅 Ill never forget how kobie stole his last allstar gm & pickdd him up off the floor in his last match with Mike. GOATS can not be a quiter...he didnt do the time. Goat of highlights yea & shoe salesman. In the world of sports its abt endurance...& greatness sustained.
Michael had something. If ever been in the zone, you know what I am talking about. He could enter that zone through his extreme competitiveness, almost at will. In many moments, because of this harmony, he moved so gracefully and did things that seemed like he was orchestrating the strings of fate himself. He always found a way. Michael had access to a deeper, more artistic state that people like LeBron, who are just completely stiff and tactical, cannot reach. This was that X-factor. Players too caught up in the ego cannot overcome it in the dwindling moments of a finals game where you have to relinquish control to a deeper part of the Self. Playing smart isnt everything. There is a point where you have to surrender your ego to that oneness. If you never been great at anything, truly great, you have no idea what I am talking about.
Kyrie has credited Kobe a lot with his influence and how he mentored him. Kobe was MJ's lil bro when he first came into the league and Kobe basically made himself as close to MJ 2.0 as he could. That's the lineage. Just like how pretty much every fadeaway jumper comes from either MJ or Dream. The bigs took Hakeem's and added their own twist like Dirk. Hakeem and MJ made me a hoops fan for life. I respect LeBron, he's the same age as me and I loved watching along his career and he's the greatest of this generation, but it's no comparison. They don't even play the same style of game.
People often say, "Who you got to see play". But everyone who says that Jordan is the GOAT, also got to see Kobe and LeBron play. It's not like fans went blind after Jordan left the Bulls. I didn't get to see Wilt play, but he's the GOAT for me.
