Excellent quality video and examples. Really enjoyed. I'm a transplanted San Diegan now living in NE Florida on the coast, and I find I'm drawn more and more drawn to the coastal style.
We built a coastal-style sunroom last year, using your advice and inspiration from an earlier video. It makes no difference that we’re an hour from the ocean: we love the look and feel like we’re taking a mini-vacation when we relax in the space.
I like Coastal Interior Designs. Love the laid-back casual, comfy, neutral vibe. Rattan, bamboo, wicker will always remain on the list of favorites on the charts, which I know you too, feel the same for! And bodies of water, well goes without saying 💙😉 Thank you for sharing. Your always a delight, Suzie! ❤
Hi 👋🏾 beautiful sister Suzie!! I don’t mind some elements of coastal style to mix in with my fav French country. I guess I would be going to eclectic if I like that many styles Right lol? It’s ok bcuz I’ll always decorate with what I love . Have a wonderful weekend to you and your family darlings ♥️♥️🙏🏽
Hi Everyone! I hope you enjoy this weeks video on the Coastal design style. Are you a fan of this style? Do you think Coastal decor is only for beach homes, or can you see yourself introducing some of these elements into your own home? xx
Hey Suzie, today I discovered your channel - and it is magnificent! Your voice, the soft music and the lovely pictures are candy for my ears and eyes😊subscribed! Your content is really inspiring👍 But: de Guerney handpainted wallpaper - would love to have it, but how can one afford this😉 But a girl can dream😊 Anyways, love this calming content! Sending greetings from Germany🍀
After watching this it seems I have a modern cottage and now have a multitude of ideas to hopefully make it as beautiful and inviting as those you've shared. Thankyou.
Your videos are good, and the photos are awesome, but pausing longer, at least 12 seconds on each photo, would be a huge improvement. The narration offers almost no value, as no tips are provided. It should either be improved, or eliminated. Sometimes the music is too loud and jarring. It should always be very low in volume, and contemplative to allow viewers to focus on the photos.
Thanks for sharing your criticism. I am not sure what you mean about no tips being provided? Could you elaborate further? It sounds like the best solution for you would be to mute the video, and adjust the speed to 0.75 speed then most of your criticisms would be addressed 😊
Hi Suzie, this is one of my favorite videos, love this style! I am a Canadian subscriber currently visiting Japan, stayed at a beautiful small hotel in Kyoto that was true Japandi style... now have greater appreciation for that style. How's modern European cottage is my design favorite, thanks again.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I understand your point about blue and white decor; maintaining a balanced approach is key to achieving a harmonious look :) xx
Thanks for the great tips and inspiration! I've always lived by the sea here in New England, but recently moved to between the sea and the mountains here! My two bedroom/one bathroom apartment looks and feels more like a country English cottage than the average apartment and is part of a 19th century carriage house. It has all wood floors, knotty pine paneling, brick walls here and there, a fireplace and wood burning stove, big small paned picture windows that look out to a yard and garden and seven very tall pine trees! It's attached to the main house , a Victorian house built in the 1870s. I have black wrought iron hinges, but want to put in some black wrought iron latches and on my antique cupboards. My color palette is soft blues, sage green and cream with touches of pale pink and then soft reds in the fall/winter and Christmas time. I'm also a professional artist/illustrator/painter so I've set up my drawing table by the big picture window in the kitchen area so I can look out at the birds I feed and other woodland critters. My second bedroom I'm using as my music room with my piano and art/music books since I'm also a pianist /composer of a New England folk opera which has been performed publicly along with other music for piano. I love the look of pale blue or soft sage green against warm wood tones. The unique thing about my kitchen is that the sink with gooseneck faucet is set into a brick alcove and the stainless steel fridge is also set into a stone/brick alcove...very unusual! The place is in the historic district of a small city and oozes charm like English cottages in the UK!♥🌻♥
Your new home sounds absolutely enchanting! The combination of historic charm and your personal touches must make it a truly unique and inspiring space, especially with those picturesque views from your drawing table. It’s wonderful to hear how you've integrated your artistic and musical passions into your home. xx
Be still my heart 💗 I knew I was in Love with France, but fell in love all over again! No I have not been, and don't know what I'm waiting for. Shame on me! This Boutique Hotel is absolutely heartwarming, and looks ready for me, to move into! Thank you for sharing Suzie, and always so lovely to see you, my friend ❤
It sounds like you’ve renewed your love! France definitely has a way of capturing hearts. Thank you for the kind words, and it’s always a pleasure to share with you. Lovely to hear from you too, my friend! ❤
You're absolutely right about Scandi style often leaning towards neutrals and textures, but adding a pop of colour as an accent is often used to breathe new life into the aesthetic! Thanks for noticing, and I'm glad you found it surprising in a good way xx
This is a very popular style here in Sweden. But many, like me, are not into modern minimalism at all, but prefer the faded antique, *Swedish Rococo* style, with lots of charm and patina.
Swedish Rococo style definitely exudes a timeless charm with its faded antique allure and rich patina. I would say I resonate more with that as well given my love of antiques, character, and patina. Embracing what resonates with you personally is what truly makes a home special. Thanks for sharing your perspective! xx
I've always wondered about this. No color originated in a place where the landscape is almost colorless for the majority of the year? It doesn't sound likely, does it?
Thank you for sharing your perspective. Warmth and coziness are indeed integral aspects of Scandinavian style. I recommend watching our video on 'Hygge' (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ECyADpNmO3o.html), which delves deeper into this concept. It's important to clarify that our video focuses specifically on the 'Scandinavian design style,' which is now recognised globally. As with any design approach, it's essential to consider factors like the time of year, climate, and personal decor preferences :)
Thanks for sharing Dottie! Perhaps it's precisely because of this contrast that Scandinavians embrace colourful accents and layered textures in their surroundings. It could be a way to bring warmth, vitality, and a sense of cheerfulness into their homes during the long, dark winters. Overall I do believe Scandinavian design offers a beautiful counterbalance, infusing spaces with brightness and energy xx
The Scandinavian style is a wonderful way to combine textures, colours and design to achieve simplicity and functionality. I've always loved this type of decor which is so versatile allowing modern pieces to work well with vintage and antique. Thanks Suzie for this enjoyable video!
Thank you for your interest in our videos! Decorating in the French style with just black and white can create a stunning and sophisticated look that is often seen in Parisian style. We may be doing an updated Parisian style soon which we will cover further xx
