I’m a native Texan. We are very diverse. East Texas has lush piney woods, lakes and springs. South Texas is subtropical. You are really describing west Texas and it’s rugged beauty. We have a Gulf coast, and north Texas prairies Your video does depict beautiful homes, and interiors but they are more the style of ranches . We are heavily influenced by the Mexican culture and cuisine, as we call Tex Mex

I've lived in Texas for 48 years, in various areas of the state. This is a lovely video and I enjoyed it very much! It shows an upscale decorator version of West Texas Ranch style and Hill Country Style. Although we have other styles in Texas, being such a large state (the size of France and England put together!) the Ranch style decorating will never go out of style in Texas. Even if a Texan decorates in the French style, English cottage or even Scandi style, we can't help but put some Texan in there as well. It's in our blood. Excellent video, Suzie, well done!

Beautifully done ✅ I’m in Hill Country Texas. I lean less Texas traditional and more Hamptons. But, the rest of my family is definitely Texas Ranch & collected. Suzie did a great job hand selecting the BEST elements of the Texas Design Style.

Everything you said about this Texas style could work for where I live in Arizona, USA. I’ve also lived in the Hill Country about an hour from Austin, Texas, and I agree with you about that area and its home styles, though really you can see all kinds. I live in New Zealand but previously lived in Texas for almost 30 years. The Hill Country ranch style with the natural Austin limestone is still one of my favourite styles. My homes have always been more traditional/transitional, even bordering on the Hamptons Coastal styles, but it was always so nice to get away to a ranch that was done up in these styles. Thanks for putting this together - so nicely done.

This looks like extreme West Texas. I've been here 70 years -- North Texas, East Texas, and Central Texas. This decorating style would lean more to vacation homes but not the main residence of most Texans in the right half of the state.

@@suzieandersonhome, I hope you'll do some others on Texas someday. We have many different climates/terrains in our state. The Houston area, for instance, is full of tall pine trees, high humidity, and flat as a pancake--very green. In my area, near Austin, we have lots of bedrock, short stubby trees, and a big open sky but certainly no vistas such as in west Texas. Most of the homes you showed did remind me of former President George W. Bush's ranch in Crawford.

These are all very beautiful but my favorite is Tex-Mex rustic decor with Equipale furniture. I visited a home with polished and painted natural concrete floors like this. It was so beautiful!

I loved this video so much I watched it 3 times! I am from Central and Eastern Virginia so I enjoyed seeing Texas where I have never been. The Williamsburg Colonial style is popular around here, especially with the James River plantation homes. Virginia was an English Royal Colony and we enjoy the antique aristocratic flair. We even have our own Williamsburg paint charts. I have noticed that this is in contrast to New England where they have a more Puritan history, and I see nice videos of the Primitive style. This is really all nonsense, there is variety everywhere, but it is something to think about in my mind. Thanks for sharing.

I remember seeing years ago, Diane Keaton's Spanish revival home in Bel-air featured in Architectural Digest, it was beautifully renovated. Apparently she is a bit of an renovating addict. Very classy. I like this style a lot

My reaction is because Texas has always been known as the biggest and brashest, and often very tacky. I never thought of it as a decorating style with any sophistication.
