The Schlage Security channel provides information on our mechanical and electronic solutions, and how-to videos for installation, maintenance, and programming.
Another note is that the raw material, brass bar stock the price made so that it was literally unaffordable. Most of the mechanical improvements like rekeying yourself, wafer locks and so on were developed in the 1980's there. Also, some of the eco tards complaining about the enviromental damage, well their wish came true now this part of Vistacion Valley has 4 vacant city blocks going on 15 years.Uh,what housing and mixed use...see the 7-11 on Bayshore is still there where I used to buy cigarettes.......
This was very educational for what I do for a job. Thank you! Question. How does 111111111111111 equal 65,535? I don't understand the math. Nevermind I understand now. You just keep x2 on each position going foward depending on length of number 1 then 2 then 4 then 8 then 16 etc
Sometimes the plate that hides the screws doesn't come off when aligning the indent. You'll have to turn the whole plate counter clockwise to unscrew it. ;)
My only concern is with the one movement releasing the door window being smashed and easily reached in and physically access the door handle and manually open it. But it looks like a well built lock.
Question about the structure sheet..I thought the GM key could not share any of the same cuts with the change keys. It also doesn’t follow the odd even odd even pattern. Am I missing something?
I know nobody’s commented on these videos much, but thank you for these. I’m studying for the locksmith PRP test and these have helped me a lot. Great job.
How come your outer hardware is stainless steel but the inner hardware is guaranteed to corrode and rust so this video is pointless cuz the only way it’s coming off is with a drill and hammer
I had a non-locking door handle and all I needed to know was how to remove the handle and rose so I could get to the philips head screws and tighten them up. THANK YOU! As they say, "Anything is easy IF you know how!"
Do you guys know what the difference between a left hand and a right hand is. You have a left and right hand in the first picture and a right and left hand in the second. The way to tell is to put your back up to the hinge jam and see which arm would open the door. The first pic shows a left hand inswing, and a right hand outswing, the second shows the opposite.
Maintenance installed the the lever backwards so the key lever is inside. They cant get back to do it right for days so I will attempt to switch it. 🙄 Thanks for detailed instructions
The new MD series levers locks are junk. The AL series lever locks much better Quality locks. This is why contractors and locksmith starts to use other brands
So if some unhinged individual gains access to the keys to these deadbolts, knows how to pick locks, or has the master key there’s no protection anymore. Because of the fact that actually holding the deadbolt is a last resort and is a really bad idea, I think it would have been better and more secure to have a interior locking system that uses a key rather than a switch style deadbolt that won’t allow for the door to be unlocked from the outside if the key is inserted on the side being protected and locked down. I hate the reality of this scenario becoming more plausible as time goes on, but there’s nothing we can do to stop the avalanche we’ve started as a society so we have try to protect our children the best we can. This lock company has good intentions, but a half baked product that makes more sense in prisons rather than schools.
Thanks. I was having trouble getting the key side handle back on after rekeying the plug. After watching this video, I was able to get it back on without any issues. I believe the key was to verify that it was clocked properly before putting the handle back on. Thanks again.
Most of the time I see these holes prepped on new metal doors because they get ordered that way. If it’s just the holes on the face of the door I use hole saws and step bits. If it’s the mortise prep…can’t help ya there 😅
What if I use 2 smart card 1 which have access to room and 1 doesn't have access to the room ..... And if I stick these both cards back to back and try to access the room what will happen in. That case
There is read multiple cards at same time option in most of readers. You can search for it as anticollision. What would access controller do is about software of it. If it is designed as let user in if there is even there is one authorizated card, it will give permission. Otherwise -because of multiple card or readed at least unotherized card- controller will reject.
!979-1990 management of plant actually got to meet Marrion Kedrick and Ernst Schlage.Price of raw material killed off the machine parts of the key in knob design.
