Thank you for making this video. I like your description of what you were doing. It all makes sense, but like you said, it's not easy to find this kind of information out there. Thanks!
I have a black Danier leather newspaper boy style hat with a lining I'd like to clean. Will this technique work as well? The lining is loose and I've been tempted to try and handwash it while trying to avoid the leather but don't want to ruin my favorite hat. Should I have it done professionally? Thoughts?
Sp sorry for the late response. If the liner is easily removable I would just take it out and soak it in a bowl of distilled water and oxyclean detergent . Let it soak for at least 6hrs. Then lightly rinse with more distilled water, at room temperature. Then air dry and repeat if necessary . Please let me know if this helped 😁
Ahh, I so glad to see the baby wipes come out 😂😂 I picked up a cute sraw bag from a thrift shop and it's dirty dirty, like full grown dust bunnies, adult size 😂 It's very torn on the corners, so I'm going to add fabric, lol, so you pulling out the fabric glue was perfect, lol! But I'm making the straw bag into a flower pot holder anyway.... But thanks for the tips! I'm glad I was headed in the right direction!
Nice video! You are much more brave than I. I'm a germaphobe to extreme. No way would I ever put that hat on my head. But if it works for you, good job!!
Yes that's exactly how I would get cat/dog fur or particles larger than dust off the felt. For dust I just brush. This is for grime that is thick and hardened and won't come off/out with the normal use of a hat brush or sponge .
@@sammydeanaquinojr194 I'd be interested in more details about the hat if it is still for sale. Do you have an email address that I can contact you at?
