Welcome to Common Command, your hub for all things commander! There is so much we have planned for the future and we can only hope for the support from viewers like you, enjoy the channel!
I crack a couple of collector boxes back in ikoria and have always wanted to use my foil borderless ghidorah as a commander but could never come up with a way to use it.
its honestly really fun if you can pull it off. i have a video on the channel using ghidorah as the commander and it weas amazing. miss that deck and will probably have to rebuild it lol. ghidorah specifically works really well with Threefold Signal, each 3 you pay into it is an extra mutate trigger. so if you pay 3 once, you make one copy but get 3 mutate triggers. super fun interaction!!
This commander forces the start of the bloodchief ascension/mind crank combo. Either choice will trigger one of them then triggering the other and so on. With all the tutors in black tutors it can get super mean.
Just remember, if you need to send cards do not send them in binders. They tend to shift out nd get mulitated that way. Send them in the cardbord boxes.
unfortunately not but the deck is centered around Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. lots of tutors and some replacements for the enchantments like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Marauding Blight-Priest
dollar tree has $1 binders that do the job! id rather you get cheap binders but better quality sleeve sheets. i use the dragon shield sleeves for my binders
he had a bunch of 1/1's that then turned into 4/4's with doublestrike and trample when beto casted jetmir :/ was very close but was unable to survive in the end, hope you enjoyed though!
that is a fair criticism that i didn't really explain well in the video above. when recurring ramp, such as a sakura tribe elder for example, yes i agree that it would be a waste to use up a card like reanimate. however, in the early game specifically, using merens ability (or even moldratha in the mid game) to reanimate ramp based creatures is a easy and fast way to outpace your opponents and set up HUGE late game plays. I could have done better in explaining this interaction as you're way better off using reanimate and animate dead for your big hitters!
Some ideas of mine: Prophet of Kruphix - You can only cast one spell during each of your opponent's turns. Time Vault - {Tap}: Take an extra turn after this one. Activate only if your last turn was skipped.
Recurring nightmare is the least problematic of the bunch but it’s practically impossible to deal with if you don’t counter it. It’s effect doesn’t allow you to respond with any targeted removal
My ideas for - prophet of kruphix: quite the same as yours make it trigger on your endstep and its fair. Otherwise untap only creatures. - paradox engine: lose 1 life for each card untaped this way. Braids: each player sac a creature in his upkeep if you cant discard a card or sac a land. Time vault: instead of an extra turn it ends the turn. Recurring nightmare: remove the sac creature to ad to your hand.
ooo I love the idea of paradox engine forcing you to lose life! Also making recurring nightmare return a creature to hand instead of saccing one is a quite interesting too! Love the recommendations
I think all these cards have viable counters and all these “fixes” basically break the ability of decks that would run them to pop off. Edit: And I agree that the “once per turn” text is a cop-out whenever it’s used
i think time vault is the only exception here, by a long shot. it's wayyy too broken and easy to get infinite turns. especially being a colorless card. But overall, yeah im not trying to give justification on these banned cards, just develop some conversation on what it may take to have them banned, hope you enjoyed!
@@CommonCommand I did! It was a well executed discussion, I’m just one of those people that like horrible broken things. I get why it has to be done, I was around when Skullclamp was new and banned very quickly, which just made me want to try to play it all the more 😂
@TESFox oh im the same way! I was so hurt when they banned paradox engine. Will definitely have to make a part 2 soon! Oh and did i mention we have new edh gameplay dropping june 30th 😏
of course, for me I’m not a big counter player and really only use them as protection for when people try to stop my plays. Plus countespell is two blue pips and can be tough on the mana base if you don’t have the money for fetch lands
it unconventionally is a bad counterspell. But for more casual games, it’s a fun interaction that lets you counter anything for only 1 generic and 1 blue. Regular ole Counterspell is a fine replacement
The new jodah is a very fun option for God tribal as well especially because he gives the global buff to all legendaries you control and all gods are legendary
I know that this video is over a year old by now, but I've been playing this deck recently and it's a TON of fun. I wanted to suggest cards that copy creature spells, like Volo and Double Major. These can get you absolutely absurd amounts of value, since it adds a second "whenever this creature mutates" trigger to the mutate pile. If you have Volo out and then use Illuna, you'll get three Illuna triggers, and then if you find another mutate creature from that, you'll get an additional four!
This deck is terrible. Complexic tutor on the command zone, with only "i win" results. Its for competitive losers on casual tables. Gtfo of kitchen tables.
