Welcome back to another deck tech here at Common Command! Today we mess around with one of my personal favorite commanders, Illuna! Its super fun to pilot so let me know if you end up making the deck!
As mentioned in the video, I lost a large chunk of my gameplay recordings so it is unclear when the next episode of Common Clash will come! But more content will come as I transition back to college! Hope yall stick around to see what I've got in store!

I am going for more non permanent based ramp. It feels bad mutating into a 2 drop artifact. Beanstalk Giant is great in this deck. Save the permanent based ramp for big hits. Chromatic Orrery + Nyxbloom Ancient was able to net 31 Mana on turn 7. Also changing the counter spells into bounce spells like Unsummon saves you from board wipes/targeted removal. Also you want your low cost creatures (that you Mutate onto) to have hexproof. Fun commander and lots of ways to build.

Andrew Johnson definitely does hurt getting a lanowar elves when you’re already established. I definitely want to add more bounce themed spells to the deck. All great feedback!! Thanks for the comment and recommendations

I know that this video is over a year old by now, but I've been playing this deck recently and it's a TON of fun. I wanted to suggest cards that copy creature spells, like Volo and Double Major. These can get you absolutely absurd amounts of value, since it adds a second "whenever this creature mutates" trigger to the mutate pile. If you have Volo out and then use Illuna, you'll get three Illuna triggers, and then if you find another mutate creature from that, you'll get an additional four!

1 hav a few chaos top deck cards like possibility storm, stolen strategy, shifting shadow, minds dilation really just adds to the whole theme very well

I crack a couple of collector boxes back in ikoria and have always wanted to use my foil borderless ghidorah as a commander but could never come up with a way to use it.

its honestly really fun if you can pull it off. i have a video on the channel using ghidorah as the commander and it weas amazing. miss that deck and will probably have to rebuild it lol. ghidorah specifically works really well with Threefold Signal, each 3 you pay into it is an extra mutate trigger. so if you pay 3 once, you make one copy but get 3 mutate triggers. super fun interaction!!

why all the ETBs? mutate doesnt trigger them

I filled the deck with etbs to add to the value. We’re going to be cheating stuff out with our commanders mutate ability so I want to make sure the stuff that enters the field does something big or has some kind of impact right when it enters
