Utah has been the fastest growing state since 2010. The wasatch front has 2.6 million people and growing every day. They have great support for their nba and mls teams. They also heavily support 2 big12 universities close to each other. They just got a nhl team as well. The nfl and mlb view Utah as a good investment with such growth and fan support. I don’t think the fan support for other pro football leagues translates to potential support for a nfl team.

I've loved the Birmingham Stallions since the original version of the USFL in the 80's. Your analysis was pretty spot on. Based on what information you had, no one could have really predicted what Adrian Martinez was going to be. Thank you for the high quality video.

St. Louis is still so spiteful that we had an entire football league created just so we had teams to play against. Seriously one of the biggest things players loved doing is trying to shut the St. Louis crowd up. St. Louis carries the league financially (not that thats much) If all 8 cities watched with that passion we could easily survive for decades. I dont understand how the most popular sport in America cant retain an audince for more then half a year

Since Houston didn’t revive the Oilers name, and Oil is a major part of the economy of Oklahoma, especially Tulsa, that could work. Or you could do a reference to the major weather of Oklahoma and go with a good alliterative name, calling it the Tulsa Twisters.

Adding four teams and going to six 6-team divisions is interesting. Some questions: 1.) Do you keep seven teams advancing to the playoffs in each conference or drop back to a more natural six team playoff (the top two teams in each division OR three division winners and the teams with the next three best records)? 2.) Do you keep the international teams in the same conference/division? 3.) If/when the next expansion comes, most likely with 4 more teams to make an even 40 teams, would it make sense to go back to 8 divisions of 5 teams per division? Then, how many playoff teams would make sense?
@jdredwine7224
@jdredwine7224 13 дней назад
@@adamevans998 I think with 36 teams 7 team playoff is still fine. I think If they ever go to 40 teams then they would need to expand the playoffs. If we ever have an international division it would be 4 European based teams that would most likely be teams 37-40 and it would make that early morning time slot a thing.
@adamevans998
@adamevans998 13 дней назад
@@jdredwine7224 So, in keeping 7 playoff teams in each conference, what would your format be? Some choices would be: 1.) 3 division winners, 3 second place teams, 1 wild card 2.) 3 division winners, 4 wild cards based on record 3.) 7 best records, regardless of division

San Antonio - No too many teams in Texas, Portland, Oregon - Yes, Omaha, Nebraska- Yes, Hampton - No, Tulsa, Oklahoma- No , San Juan, Puerto Rico - No, Mexico City, Mexico - No. To do this right We’ve got to go far beyond normal, and bring in the New NFL : With 44 Teams : European Division- Amsterdam Admirals, Barcelona Dragons,Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions, England Monarchs, Frankfurt Galaxy, Hamburg Sea Devils, Rhein Fire, and then add in the St Louis Battlehawks, ,Omaha Knights Portland Sea Dragons, Oklahoma Outlaws . Now You’ve got a Global Team Framework and 4 new Cities to add into the mix of the New World NFL. Playing 44 Teams and could place another 6 to go to 50 Teams, Like Birmingham Stallions, Memphis Sounds,, New Mexico Golden Aztecs, Cheyenne Warriors, Arkansas Twisters, Montana Black Bears.

arry 🙄…funny. Barry couldn’t block. Barry couldn’t score on the goal line. He wasn’t a leader in the locker room. Did he have better talent yes. Is he the better runner yes. For those clowns that say he never had an o line he had 3 pro bowl linemen. Arguably one of the most high powered offenses in 94’ and ‘95. Herman and Brett Perriman had multiple 1000 yard seasons. The only duos to have 100 catches each and 1300+ yards in a season. On top of that Johnnie Morton was the best 3rd wide receiver in the league who eventually became the number one wideout with multiple 1000 yard seasons. So don’t talk like Barry had nothing around him. The locker lacked accountability and leadership. Barry wasn’t a leader. That’s his team he chose to be quiet. Is the better talent and runner no question. But Emmitt is the better runningback. The argument about the offensive line can go against every player in the league. Ya’ll don’t realize Jim Brown had the best line ever. 3 hall of fame linemen and 9 pro bowl linemen in his career. Don’t use the offensive line as an excuse. If you wanna be an Emmitt hater that’s cool. Nothing wrong with that. Emmitt the only player ever to have 30k rushing yards and 300 tds from high school through NFL. He was a leader, he blocked, he played hurt.

#1 Toronto, Canada - the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area has over 7,281,694 people... by comparison the second largest city in Canada Montreal only has (4,291,732 people) and the third largest city in Canada Vancouver only has (2,642,825 people). - Toronto (1st largest city in Canada/US without an NFL team) - Toronto already has NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS teams, and each one of them is top 10 in valuations. - the NFL is MUCH more popular in Toronto than CFL is... - an NFL team in Toronto would be instantly worth $5 Billion dollars... #2 San Antonio or Austin, Texas - there are over 30,503,301 million people in Texas...Texas can 100% support another NFL team, and NO Jerry Jones had no say in 2002 when the Houston Texans joined the NFL...and he will have NO SAY when San Antonio or Austin gets a team. - San Antonio is the 4th largest US city without an NFL team (2,703,999 people) - Austin is the 6th largest US city without an NFL team (2,473,275 people) - these cities are approximately 70 miles apart, the halfway point New Braunfels would be approximately 40-45 minute drive from either San Antonio or Austin - Texas is the most diehard football state...and two MAJOR markets without NFL teams are only 40 minutes apart...that's a no brainer. #3 San Diego, California - the Chargers should have never left California, that was a mistake, LA does not NEED or WANT two NFL teams, and they have demonstrated that they support the Rams, not the Chargers, the Chargers should go back the San Diego-Tijuana/Mexican market is SO MASSIVE to turn down...there are 3.2 million people in San Diego and 2.1 million people in Tijuana....I don't understand why the owner wants to be the second most popular football team in Los Angeles instead of the most popular in San Diego/Mexico - San Diego is the 1st largest US city without an NFL team (3,269,973 people) - Tijuana is across the boarder from San Diego and has an additional (2,157,853 people) - the NFL desperately wants to expand into Mexico, and a team in San Diego gives 2 million Mexicans in Tijuana a team to cheer for, this is the best way to gain interest in Mexico (Mexico City is too high altitude for an NFL team) San Diego would be the PERFECT way to introduce the game to Mexicans...what a missed opportunity #4 St. Louis, Missouri - poor St. Louis, they lost the Cardinals (1987) and the Rams in (2015), they did not deserve to lose the Rams, but Los Angeles was a better market than St. Louis, it doesn't mean St. Louis is a BAD market - St. Louis is the 3rd largest US city without an NFL team 2,796,999 people (only San Diego and Orlando have more people) - why does St. Louis deserve a third team? where else would you go? San Diego and Orlando are the ONLY larger markets in the US without NFL teams, and Florida and California already have 3 NFL teams each.... - St. Louis battlehawks in the XFL averaged 35,104 attendance last year, and averaged 34,365 attendace this year...by comparison the next best attended XFL team only averaged 14,143 people....2.5 times less than St. Louis averages....they LOVE FOOTBALL and they are STARVED FOR PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL - Los Angeles deserves a football team, but San Diego and St. Louis should have never relocated...

Nice list, but another big one is Alabama because of how well the Birmingham Stallions are doing and how popular the college football scene is For a San Antonio team, something I've been tinkering with was the San Antonio Coyotes because Texas has the most coyotes in the U.S. density wise; I'd say their colors would be maybe tan-ish, black, and white. Besides San Antonio's football stadium, the Alamodome, was literally built to coax the NFL to the city

Glad one of these expansion conversations is FINALLY acknowledging the Hampton Roads area. Fan base could also be drawn from the Richmond metro area, as well. There is a plethora of mascot options that would be an ode to the military (particularly Navy) presence. The Admirals would be great but is already a minor league hockey team in the area. I'd prefer Hornets as a tribute to the squadrons of F-18s based in the region.

Tulsa metro area is only 1 Million people, that and not city population is the relevant stat, as a whole metro or even statistical area support a team, not just the city. I think Jacksonville is about 50 percent larger than that and they have struggled. I am leaving out Green Bay because they literally pull from the whole state. I feel like if Oklahoma did get one, OKC is the more logical location

One thing you're over looking is that the NFL has to expand 8 teams at once to keep the divisions balanced. They should use the UFL teams for expansion. Bring The 1. SA Brahamas since Washington took the Commander name. 2. St.L Battlehawks 3. Omaha Nighthawks or Mammoths 4. USFLs Outlaws 5. London Monarchs 6. Barcelona Dragons 7. Breakers back in Portland to give the Seahawks a regional rival 8. Stallions once and for all so springs leagues stop making it a pitstop.

Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video! I actually thought about the UFL concept and even considered the NFL adopt the Premier League rules where the bottom 2-3 teams are downgraded to the UFL and they are replaced by the team(s) who are in the UFL championship. I don't know, but I think it's possible that Birmingham could give the Carolina Panthers a close game, lol! Just a concept though, I don't think the NFL would ever consider it.
