Am a mechanical engineer too, yes three cylinder engines are reliable too, But it ends there, in a engineering point of view its reliability also depends of its design , how the power is taken out or it and the general quality So as for suzuki doing three cylinder for years , yes they have been successfull but today a three cylinder is made to produce around 120hp in a small car , thats important Yenna i have seen many turbo and head failures in our budget indian models So its not about three cylinder alone its about how its designed too In that view or in a holitsic view, in todays indian market view 4 cylinder engines been reliable and it will have the edge for some time One eg is , 3xo is offered at a minimum 9 lakhs , and a nissan offers a three pot wih a vc turbo for 40 lakhs so engineering costs money
I sold my Merc A Ckass just because of the stupid ADAS feature and it was irritating to switch it off everytime. I got a Audi Q5 and it is peaceful. The car drives the way I want it to.
I just watched all of your old videos, including the one on 3-cylinder vs. 4-cylinder engines which you posted few years back. Your content is super informative! I've watched a lot of videos on how car engines and other components work, but yours really stand out. You've made the basics so easy to understand. Great job, brother!
How multiple gears shift in TC as in ur vdo shows only single gear with variable torque conversion… Then how variable gears are switched or those are gimmicks?
4 cylinder NA is not as peppy as a 3 cylinder turbo and also has less torque. But a 3 cylinder turbo will have initial lag and labor too much at low revs. Maintenance schedules are to be followed more strictly for any turbo petrol engine.
Ituku yes or no nu badhil sola mudiathu. Athuku than periya 3-cyl cars la turbo kudupanga. But turbo kick aagura vara konjam lag irukum. Also tuning and CC atuku etha mari panirndha 3 Cyl kuda podhum heavier cars ah ilukraku.
I'm having a 2012 Skod Fabia 1.4 TDI 3cyl unit, It's been 12 years and I'm still getting 24kmpl on highway at decent cruising speed, engine no trouble so far, when periodic maintenance are done properly, this is just my opinion
Bro, two and three cylinder engines la lam piston 'A' keela pona remaining piston oda power stoke vachu piston 'A' mela (TDC) ku varum. Whereas single cylinder engine la after ignition, keela pora piston epdi bro again mela varudhu (For next combustion cycle) ?
