I love to fish and share my fishing and outdoor adventures with others through videos. I love sharing tips and tricks I have learned about fishing and the outdoors with others. I fish mainly for bass but I love fishing for all types of species of fish. I also love the outdoors and being in the wilderness.
I also love to shoot air rifles and I am a big fan of spring break barrel and under lever air rifles but I do own and shoot some PCP air rifles as well.
I have spent most of my life out in the woods and in the mountains all over America as well and love sharing all my adventure with other's through my videos and try and hope to pass on things I have learned a long the way.

It's a beechwood. A good material, anyway. However, you are very much wrong about one thing: in relation with POWERFULL springers, plastic stock has 3 advantages over the wooden one, two of them being more important than the third one. These are: 1) plastic stock adheres to metal body (receiver) better, whereas the wooden one tends to vibrate more and to "run away" from metal; 2) for the same reason, plastic/polymer stock resonates less than wooden one thus the recoil gets more dampened/buffered/suppressed (that's why, usually, the screws that press the stock against the receiver get loosen on wooden stocks more often than on plastic); number 3 is general - wooden stocks are much more sensitive to humidity. Word of advice: if you have a choice within the same model of an airgun, one variant being with wooden stock and the other with plastic, if it's PCP/CO2, opt for wood, if it's a springer/gas ram choose the plastic variant. Good review. Thanx.
@BravoBassin
@BravoBassin День назад
Well I will have to respectfully dis agree with you on the wood stocks over plastic stocks as I have found that wood stocks absorb the shock of the spring or gas ram way better then any plastic stock. and as far as screws backing out I have always had more issues with guns with plastic stocks backing out over and wood stock as well uless it is my weihrauch HW97K that is the only one that I love with a sythetic stocck on it. I will always take a wood stock on a springer over a sythetic stock any day of the week. Now with PCP air rifles I do not care actually prefer sythetic with them. But never with a springer. Not sure how you came to all those very bad kinda crazy conclusions in my opinion but we will have to agree to dis agree. thanks for watching the video as i do appreciate it and the comment.
@DrAgan_tortojed
@DrAgan_tortojed День назад
@@BravoBassin OK, agreed to disagree. Though, if you want to really get deep into the matter, consult the technology experts and I guarantee they will confirm my words. The thing is: plastic (the kind that is used for stocks mostly) is more flexible than breech and/or nutwood/walnut wood, so, when hard-pressed against metal (or any other rigid material) it "follows" the line, so to speak, or, in other words is more "compliant", tends to stick to the metal, to stay "in a position" after being more or less bended by screws (pardon me if I'm too wordy, English is not my native language, thus I try to use different expressions trying to explain same views/ thoughts hoping I will be understood better).

I did not want to have to leave but one I am not able to get out and fish as much as I need someone to go with me just in case I have some issues hell I am not even able to get out in my kayaks and fish anymore due to my injuries getting worse. And 2 I can"t really afford to keep getting the boxes anymore as I am having to cut cost anywere I can just to keep food on the table these days. Contrary to what people think I do not get a lot of money for being 100% disabled and people seem to think I get all my gear for free which is way not the case as I have paid for everything I have ever used shown or reviewed on my channel. So I wish I could have kept going and making my monthly monsterbass box video as I have always enjoyed getting the boxes and i used to give away baits from the boxes every month as well till it was costing more to mail them then the price of the baits I was sending people in the give aways. @BravoBassin Appreciate the honest effort & feedback from you guys 👍 I wonder if Gamo's quality levels have slipped and/or they've cheapened designs, as when the CFX came out about twenty years ago, it was just about everyone's favorite Gamo on the forums, and I dont recall any of the issues you folks mentioned really being a thing back then...🤔🧐 Of course, I could be forgetting things as I age, but I really don't recall any major problems like these being mentioned back in the day.... it's unfortunate they are present nowadays though. I seem to remember the CFX being considerably more expensive in the early 2000s than it currently is, so perhaps they HAVE cheapened things some.... Side note, if you ever run across one, Gamo made a Shadowmatic inline repeating break barrel back then too; it was limited to mostly wadcutter pellets in repeater mode (I believe it could also be operated as a single shot), but was known to be rather reliable and was also well-liked by most who had one IIRC...
@BravoBassin
@BravoBassin 16 дней назад
So one of the reason I wanted to get this air rifle was exactly that the older ones were said to be really good and I missed out on getting one back then. But this one I can say with all honesty is junk and I would not recommend it to anyone. I talked to several others who have this new one and all are having the same issues as well as a guy smith form over seas who says he has worked on and had to fix so many of these and we are talking the older ones and the newer ones as well. all having the same issues. Turns out from talking to many people they call this a project gun with a lot of the air gunners who like to tinker with air rifles. Many contacted me and told me they buy it take it apart and then re build it an then it is a pretty decent rifle which requires putting a lot more money into it. which turn a $169 air rifle in to a $500 or $600 air rifle and for that money you should just go buy a weihrauch. Anyway thanks for watching the channel and for the comment.

@@BravoBassin.

Well I do not know if it is the best one but I do know it will work just fine for taking small game and the fact you can fold it up to a more compact size is definitely a plus for sure. thanks for the comments and watching the video.

@@BravoBassin The only thing close in size (IMPORTANT) is a pistol such as Beeman P1/Crossman 1322 etc. But you go ahead and carry a long, heavy Weirauch or AirArms for survival if you think they are better (for survival purposes) So like I said...Until someone makes a smaller, lighter, faster and more accurate one, this one is the best survival air rifle.
@BravoBassin
@BravoBassin Месяц назад
@@scottmerrow7617 well first off not all Weihrauch rifles are heavy the HW30s and HW50s are both very light and very capable. Second I will take a weihrauch air rifle over this black bunker BM8 all day long for a survival rifle hands down. the build quality and accuracy of a weihrauch alone on top of the fact that it will out last this BM8 for decades and generations to come, So I sure will be happy to carry one or an air arms over this bm8 any day. and by the way the BM8 is not a small air rifle it is a full size one and it is only compact when it is folded up but if you are in a survival situation you will most likely always have it folded out and ready to shoot. But what do I know I am just some guy on youtube that makes videos.
@scottmerrow7617
@scottmerrow7617 29 дней назад
@@BravoBassin Of course there are better air rifles available but this one is the best for survival purposes BECAUSE IT FOLDS. Buy two for the price of one Weihrauch. No one said this is the best air rifle period but put a folding stock on a Weihrauch and I'll be the first to buy. YOU just don't get it.

@@scottmerrow7617 Do you even on a black bunker BM8 air rifle? And I do get it you really like this air rifle good for you. But the fact that you think because this air rifle can fold makes it the best survival air rifle out currently lets me know that you really do not know anything about survival let a lone what a good survival air rifle would even be. I am glad you like this air rifle so much and I am sure the company will be glad to sell you as many as you want. and good luck with your survival skills because with that mentality your really going to need it.

I'm on team R7! And I can recommend trying a Williams peep sight on that thing! I prefer the wide Patridge front sight (easier to see in all conditions). You can hit ping pong balls with this set up out to 20 yards.
@BravoBassin

Ya the R7 is my wife air rifle and she loves it. She prefers the hawk scope she has on it verses any type of open sites, But she does know how to shoot well with the open sites as well because I told her she had to learn open site shooting first before I would put a scope on her air rifle lol! I really like her R7 as well I have a weihrauch HW30S on the way should be in my hands soon.

Most people your (and my) age can't see open sights well enough, but switching to a peep sight improves this tremendously! With peeps you are as accurate as with a scope, and the only disadvantage is target acquisition. Peep sights are not open sights, they are non magnifying optical sights. The magnification in a scope makes it much easier to see small targets, especially in low light.
@BravoBassin
@BravoBassin Месяц назад
well I am pretty darn good with any sight but I do like a good peep sight on a rifle as I have a lot of experience with using them. But I always like having some sort of open sights as a back up to a scope on a rifle. With this air rifle I plan on putting a scope on it and making a video with it. And doing a follow up video on it as there are a few things I want to point out now that I have had it for awhile. Like the rear open sight has started drifting and will not stay in line it slowly moves out as you shoot it. the rifle is still very accurate but there are some definite improvements they need to make with it.

I have a Hawke in 4X32, it got MilDots and a zoom down to 7yrd. Nice and crisp, but the cross hairs are kinda thick, which can be a problem for tiny targets, but for hunting it's a definitive plus, since you can see them in low light.
