I like the sound of the fruit with sponge on top it will make a nice change to crumble topping, I also have a bero book which was my Mum’s. Have you had quite a few figs from your tree this year? Shame about the dead tree and those that have been damaged in the storm it seems to have taken some really old trees down in various parts of Yorkshire. Thanks for sharing x
I love watching your channel, you always find such amazing bargains! I’ve been trying to find these incredible prices; yesterday in my local sainsburys, I was there about 9pm they shut at 10pm and nothing had been reduced at all! Still lots of about to go out of date foods had to at same days date on still full price! Should I have waited longer do you think? I don’t see how they’d sell all that in less than an hour! There was atleast 40 fresh pizzas still full price!! 😢

I get up at 6 am every morning just to enjoy an hour to myself with a cup of coffee. I have to sit by a window and look out at our garden too. It’s my favourite part of the day. We might be kindred spirits❤ However if I sit and think for too long I find I become melancholy so I have to get up and get busy.
My Bramley apple tree produced its first fruit this year. Just the one, but it weighed 10 and half ounces, so we’ll be having apple pie later in the week. I spotted ‘Rebecca’ on your table - I wanted to record some of that but it’s still in copyright, unfortunately.
❤ Gourmet again! I have cooked a chook with lemon, potato and beetroot mixed with tarragon but never ginger and orange/carrot. It reminds me of duck le orange. I always thought it was difficult but orange marmalade has way more uses than a sandwich in Paddington's hat. I smear it on Christmas hams and the kids think I'm genius. Sometimes when I have little chipo sausages, I chuck them in a plastic bag with orange marmalade and serve them as gentlemen's dainties. Smearing it on roast chicken too! But as far as toast goes 😬 disgusting bitter sweet cheek tingles. Occasionally we get ginger jam, so I am going to do that with orange and carrot to see. I am now also going to experiment with rose petal jam too. Anything simple like that is a winner. I feel sick about trees dying. They are like grandparents guarding the garden. Winter is indeed coming for you. My son already has the fan on. Probably because his room is a disaster and the smell of it is a disgrace 😂😂 Belinda

😊 a happy video! I often look at water in other countries and wonder how many people/animals have drunk that very same water over time.. ? There was an old bloke in Sydney, in the early part of last century, who walked around with a piece of chalk writing the word "Eternity" in random places (well before Banksi). It was exactly the same delicate cursive on footpaths, buildings etc. I often think about Eternity and have recently come to the idea that once we exist, we exist for eternity because you can't undo our existence, it is done, it is a fact, for Eternity. ❤ Belinda

@@BeFree-BeFrugal dinosaur pee! We have a fern, like the one you filmed, but it is actually like a conifer, which was found down a secluded canyon in 1994 and it dates back to 200 million years ago! Beautiful...I'm so glad you finished it with that russel of the wind in the trees, because to day at work I got outside into some nearby woods and the sound of the wind in the trees was absolutely wonderful wonderful .I even closed my eyes to appreciate it even more.Your visual capturing is excellent...but the often less appreciated sounds of nature on your vids can make watching them a pleasure with eyes shut...to appreciate the wonderful sounds you capture.
Lovely walk today , Jill ... but do you ever feel nervous on your solitary strolls , especially through the woods ? I don't think I would feel safe in that type of situation ... how is it where you are ? Guess I'll continue to enjoy nature as your walking partner LOL !

😂 chocolate prepping! You have to get the priorities right. It is coming to the end of August and here we go! Already there has been a stabbing next door😮 I am packed with toilet paper and food for 2 months!😂 I ain't going out there in the mentalness about to pop off. It is fuel and soil for the vegetables on Monday then I am hanging out with the creatures in my backyard. Expect mayhem, crack downs and reactions that are ballistic😂 I am now planting goji berries that do well in dry/cold. Apparently it is better to kinda stew them then dehydrate, like in soup or tea! I would love to get my hands on that old English book about medicinal herbs etc. It is so interesting. I have decided that for Christmas I am not buying "things but rather, experiences, like movies, theatre or garden festival tickets. To get people out at the end of the year when the chaos passes... how refreshing 😂😂 Belinda

I just bought some Miracle Grow Shake & Feed and it was $18.00, at Walmart.😳 I shop our Aldi all the time. It's rare to see anything discounted. Went this morning to get garlic and was shocked to see how much prices had gone up since last week. Ground beef $4.99 Lb. A couple of months ago it was $3.19. 5 Lbs. of Potatoes were $4.59 a bag. They were $2.99. It's starting to get frightening.😬 I'm really happy I pressure canned ground beef & potatoes when they were cheaper. Have a great weekend. 🤗🌷
Already got my sage and onion stuffing and some Bisto gravy (chicken and herb) for £1 at Heron foods. I'm Vegetarian so will get the veg when on offer at Christmas 🙂
It feels wonderful when we save money on something we need anyway. Love how you display such beautiful meals and nearby are the beautiful plants thriving on the window sills. Just outside in the yard you have more happy plants growing and flowering. You have a perfectly beautiful life. Taking us along in the countryside walking through the ancient woods or visiting the lovely villages and showing us the architecture and shops. Thank you for the inspiration. Love your channel.

Even with inflation £6 (for less choccies than we used to get in those tubs!) is outrageous. Far better to hang on until nearer Christmas, when they’ll realise that they’ve over-bought and half the price to get rid of them…
