Oh my, this was the first airplane model I ever made. All it took was that first picture of the plane and I was instantly sitting in my room as a twelve-year-old, patiently gluing together a kit my father bought me.
I had to get a tailwheel endorsement! You don't have to pass a checkride but you have to do specific training with an instructor. I did my tailwheel training for my endorsement in a Citabria and it took 4 flights / 8 hours of training plus ground training to get my endorsement. The transition training to the 140 took me another 8 hours of training - it was a lot different than the Citabria to fly at first!
@@bayflight Cool. I love the way they look to just fly off the runway once the tail wheel lifts. I’m sure there’s more to it than that but it’s just so elegant looking. Would love to see you and “L’il Ugly” at the Abbotsford Airshow. Any chance?
I used to wear Ray Bans and they were great. I'll never buy crap with its name written on it. Will this trend ever end, or have I just saved thousands of dollars by buying Just As Good® unbranded gear? 😛 Speaking of unbranded, I like the tiny little tail number on that plane. Is that legal though?
Enjoyed this playlist, live in Payson Arizona and the local airport (KPAN) has a lot of tail draggers fly in usually Thursday and thru Saturday. This time of year, have a lot of wildland firefighting aircraft assigned/staged here as well.
I always wonder how comfortable the seats in these smaller planes are. Since yours is older, does it feel like an old land yacht Cadillac? Also, your Beechcraft Bonanza looks so sleek!
I suspect they're kind of picky about you knowing where Jabara, Beech and McConnell AFB are because they had a 747 Dreamlifter accidently land at Jabara instead of McConnell one time. Big news in Wichita. 🙄
